Ty ty I never make a fuss about my birthday, I'm a I get more from others opening prezzies than me. I also get a tad err lost for words shall we say. All in a thoroughly chapish way of course.
A house not full but sounded it, and wasn't planned so a quick tagliatelle carbonara rustled up with lots of good bread and all appatites satiated. Same size but bigger by two tonight daughters will be here whoopee whoop.
A hip crps note didn't feel a thing till about 10 tho wiff said from nine onwards I looked in pain, or wasmit I was a pain, chortle have a grand weekend. I'm off to the kitchen sink. A good night is always followed by lots of washing up.......

I remember some weeks post hip op. I stood at the sink and made it really shine. I couldn't do much in the house but felt very satisfied with the extra shiny sink! I couldn't believe this was me LOL So back to the kitchen sink @Legin enjoy today x

It was dishes to wash. Homemade pizza chuck your own choice topping tonight.

Hello legin. I just posted on the wrong thread apparently. At 3 months post LTHR I fear I am getting some nerve pain although nothing like your problems. I just wanted to share my appreciation to you for sharing your ongoing story and do admire your courage.

@Legin you are quite the host and cook. Your love of it shows in your stories. Lucky family to have you as an example for living and loving life. Happy Birthday!:yahoo:

@Legin you didn't feel a thing till 10:00 am or pm??? Pm would be a miracle that you thoroughly deserve!!! Even am is an achievement!
Anyway, your family has the chores laid out wrong-/ don't you know cook never has to wash up? I know, you really did enjoy every second of it all :) :) :)

PM I was too absorbed in everything else. So chortling at wiffff comment, I'm afraid its an everyday phrase of mine. I get some funny looks when I use it esp from officialdom. I assure all BTW its a term of endearment and I first used it on speech when we got wed, its just stuck.
OK back to thread another busy but humongously enjoyable day. Both daughters have been v busy so little time together. We so forget the impact of what we are going thru that can be seen by those who live us. A few misty moments that required a dad its OK hug. I engaged them I'm looking forward, new job, also the going into schools as a trainer/educator. So the optimistic feeling came back. So the motto for us is talk to those around us, allow them the opportunity to ask about us. My grandson asks questions all the time but he is toonyoing to think about anythingnother than he wants to know. Perhaps we all should become kids again and have no diversionary thought about assumed etiquette.

I agree. I mentioned in another post about needing a bit of magical thinking. I am laying on a beach soaking up the sunshine at the moment and my plaster cast has disappeared. I am not coming back to everyday life yet!! We certainly learn a lot through this roller coaster. I think your roller coaster is or was bigger and longer than most!

Your falling into a hole story reminded me of a huge (to me) hip milestone, which was the first time I accidentally stepped into a pothole in my yard with op leg, and it didn't hurt or faze the hip at all. Yay, no more picking my way daintily across the grass, watching my step like a hawk. Wish I could remember how far along I was then...
Love to hear of your family stories, you draw such good lessons for us from them!

#CRPS The mirror thingy is going along fine up to a minute and once longer before I began to feel queezy. Have next appointment with therapist this week so I'm v interested as to where she will take me too next. Also first CAB training session this week. Happy hole avoiding to all who read this. Oh an aside to prove it must be genetic eldest when younger I stated her native american Indian name would have been hole finder.

It's really interesting to see how the mirror therapy is working for you. I wonder what the next step is as well.

Let us hope the next therapy doesn't involve wishing you hadn't eaten lunch!
My younger son's childhood name would have been, among many possibilities, Trips Over Dust Specks But Has Guardian Angel.

Chortle Zaubbbs ah but did he inherit this natural disaster characteristic.
@Jamie I also wonder I have read up that it is s therapy often used when people suffer pain in a limb that has been amputated. The nausea thing is all but gone, although might be my inability to concentrate for any great peri od. The one thing that I can deffiniately post is my ability to get relaxed quickly by breathing and I literally in my mind push out the stress, I have tried to push out the pain but sometimes if I am in middle of a flareup I am.just not strong enough. Oh well Stonehenge wasn't built in one day.

I used to do positive thinking sessions with my classes relaxation really. Everyone would sit down on the floor and we'd imagine we were in a wonderful place - often by the sea, in a quiet wood, a big open field, on top of a tall mountain. They had to keep very still and breathe deeply. I would describe the beach and ask them how they felt, what could they feel, what they could see, what sounds they could hear but they had to stay silent. We could do it for about 10 minutes with some practice and they really enjoyed it and were much calmer afterwards. It was good for imaginative writing too. Not at all like your relaxation but it just reminded me reading about your experiences.
I suppose my sort of quiet thinking would have been prayer and meditation really done in a different setting with a different focus.

I used to teach well it would be more aid some young people. We used a similar idea, one lad was chortling I asked him where had he placed himself he said smurff world as it was blue. Oh this was anger management.

@Legin your progress is phenomenal! Pushing the stress out, I like that. And glad nausea pretty much gone!! Can't wait to see what comes next. Remission of all pain would be kinda nice... :)
Both my kids had their share of accidents but nothing at all like yours! The top two would be older son tripping over a blade of grass and saying hello to a fire hydrant with his forehead, age three. He and his granny came inside covered in blood! Younger son at 17 tripped over a bag set in the path to the front door, put out his hand to steady himself, and the hand and arm just kept on going through the glass panes of the door. In his defense, we'd only had that door for a few weeks, so his instinct should not have led to so many stitches!!
