Happy Day 73! @Layla @Mojo333 @zauberflöte C'mon man! My wife has given up.
The security lamp thing was for her anyway, she wants the backyard lit. The salt was next to the water softener so I wasn't hauling 50# bags all over, I just had to pick up and pour. I needed to go in the attic to rescue a queen size air mattress for our trip and I couldn't get to it. I'm adopted and my parents are/were normal sized, he was 5'9" and she is 5 '3". They never had anything larger than a double bed. I have to take a blow up bed so I can have a place to sleep when I stay with mom. Every time I go out to west Texas I stay with mom since my dad passed away last year.
Truly, the only thing that hurts is sitting in padded chairs and driving on concrete freeways. Although I did drive home on a concrete freeway Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too bad.
We had our fall general campus meeting today. I had to sit in a padded conference room chair for two hours. I could feel my implant tapping the cup if I sat-up straight which is why I am iced and elevated now. I had a little swelling by the time I got home.
I don't have any pain aside from being a little swollen.
The first hip was a life changing experience, this last one was a speed bump. I'll be 59 in a couple of weeks, so I already know I will have to have revisions if I make it into my 80's.
I'm a crazy ex-distance runner and I only have one life, so I don't want to get cheated.
I have to give the credit to my surgeon, he is the best. I was able to walk unassisted as soon as I came home on Day 2 and that wasn't anything special on my part. Dr Tkach is an excellent surgeon and he nailed it.
I can sleep on my operated side already, my hip does not hurt and I just really want to act/feel like things are getting back to normal. If I suffer a setback, I dust myself off, get the swelling under control, do some PT and get back to life.

I think I nominate you for this summer's "Great-aunt Millie tap-dancing off the operating table" award! Somewhere on here is an AWFUL cautionary tale (which I cannot find!) by a guy about your age-ish, about his dislocation in ?Mexico? while riding a bumpy motorboat back to his hotel from a wonderful scuba diving session he'd participated in at 6 weeks, feeling all better. His lengthy return to civilization was marked by the worst pain in the world, that went on for hours and hours and hours with little relief. Granted, you are way more than 6 weeks, but that story scared the snot out of me regarding early activity.
