THR Layla's Recovery

Oh my stars, Layla. I'm sure your OS just made so much money from his successful surgeries he retired early.
Honestly, you should have been notified.
I WOULD get hard copies of all medical records...I'm guessing there are surgery notes and prosthesis specifics...
Sure hope you get some answers about foot pain.
I think the change in seasons will do us all good!
Hope you have a peaceful weekend.:friends:

Interesting how things are different for each country. Here in the UK I doubt we'd be informed if surgeon was moving on, but we can request a particular surgeon - where-ever he is via our GP. If our GP moved on I think we would just have to rely on the local gossip to find out whats going on. My GP surgery here where I live seems to have new doctors replacing other doctors every time I arrange an appointment. Hope you manage to get your foot pain sorted by who-ever though @Layla

Well, that stinks! But if it were me, I’d see the new (second choice) surgeon anyhow and see if I liked him better that the one who left you. This next appt for your one year may very well be the last hip related appt you need. Maybe you can get the “scoop” when you go in about your foot. Hopefully they can find what is causing that pain.

@Layla a few years ago I had the worst heal pain in one heal. Felt like I was walking on a needle. Foot Dr tried massaging and shots. No affect but the hard plastic insoles with the high arch eliminated the pain in a few days.

Hi @Tomgirl Things are different across the pond, I find it very interesting at times.
I'm convinced now more than ever that my surgeon left abruptly on bad terms. I finally
received a letter from his very large practice and is was de-void of any warm farewells or accolades
for years of service. Makes me really curious as to the reason for his departure.

Hahaha! @GrannyC I'd love to get the scoop when I see the foot / ankle surgeon from the same practice this week. And I will comment on it. I don't expect to get any info though as docs are always mum on any negativity
regarding colleagues. At least in my life experience.

Great to hear your heel pain was resolved so easily @Gone again I can only hope for a diagnosis and quick resolution. Fingers crossed :fingersx:

@Mojo333
Great idea on getting copies of all. I've already looked online and pulled up the form I need to complete.
Always been curious about my surgery report but have procrastinated in attempting to get a copy. I fear I'll read something within that will make me nervous about walking this road again, which I most likely will one day.

When all else fails, try Googling his name and see what you come up with :heehee: Cant hurt. Good luck at your appointment. I sure hope you can get some answers.

Thank you! @ajr1949
You are very kind! A great week to you :SUNsmile:

@GrannyC
I've been googling. It's too early though I think. He'll turn up....I'm sure he's still local or they would have
said he was re-locating. Thanks on the ankle / foot, you'll be one of the first to hear :wink:

Aww, you're sweet @MyAussieGirl
I'm safe, thanks for asking. I never went out, the roads are brutal, it's snowing so heavily that they
aren't really out plowing everything yet. Freeway off and on ramps are in really bad shape. The heavy and wet snow is creating glare ice. Hubby told me this morning not to leave the house, so I listened for once :heehee:
I hope Gone again is okay too. He's Idaho. How about you?

Hey sweetie see my thread for me but right before we went out I saw your weather express ways all messed up cars virtually buried down regular roads. Yes they said very unsafe on even Expressway and showed a SUV in your state sliding all over I was like....whine.... @Layla I hope she doesn't go out and has power.....Do you have a fireplace, wood and extra water?

Fireplace yes, water yep. Hubby said it's letting up now. Should be over very soon.
The roads will be worked on all night long, still not perfect for morning commute,
but I'll bet by afternoon commute tomorrow the roads will be in good shape.
@MyAussieGirl

Stay IN tomorrow please watch the local and weather channel call your police station to ask if roads are safe. they would rather you do that then scrape you off some highway @Layla

Some States have websites that will provide useful information about certain professions. You might be able to find your OS there. Probably not 'why' he left, but hopefully 'where' he is now. @Layla , please let me know if you want help.

Hi @Layla. The magnesium supplement that I was referring to over on my thread, was the oil form, not tablets. Apparently it is the best way of absorbing it, but it seems to have a topical local analgesic effect as well which was I why I was thinking that it could help your heel.
Dr Axe has quite good info https://draxe.com/magnesium-oil/

I have tried to register on joint replacement day as encouraged by @Motoe333 but seem to be going round in circles to get my password accepted. Will try again when have more energy.

Thanks @AgilityDog I appreciate that. I'll check it out.
In the meantime, I sure hope you're doing well, hanging in there...
Wishing you a wonderful sunny weekend in beautiful Hawaii....lucky you!!

Thank you @Descant
I'm checking that out! It seems someone else on here was using it in that form, hmm?
Possibly it was, Fractured? Going to go back and check.

I'm going to pass on your concerns regarding registration in the event this is happening to others.
Please give registration another try when you're feeling up to it.
I'm excited for the event, I think it will be interesting.
Hoping all is going well with your recovery.
Hugs to you and warm wishes for a wonderful weekend!
