@lavender Hi Holly, actually he was hurt. Life flight to a trauma center. Shattered collar bone, cracked ribs, lots of bruises and road rash. He was lucky. Happened at night, car behind him saw the sparks of the bike and stopped traffic. Hubby landed with top half on one side of the center line bottom half on the other. Of the two cars behind him one was a guy he worked with and one was a paramedic. He survived it, another story for him to tell to everyone. It was a buck with horns that he hit, could have been a whole lot worse.

Hi @tiredwife Oh how awful how much your husband went through with this terrible accident and how amazing that he made it through all of that . This must have terrified you as well and so fortunate he was not alone on the road and that there were friends behind him to help get help . The impact would have been unbelievable with considering the size of a buck and the strength it would have. Someone was looking out for your husband at least that is how I have always believed whether it be from a religious way of looking at it , or belief in a guardian angel , we all believe the way we believe but I often find that when things happen and you wonder why it happened to you or someone you love when you look back at it there were little things that make you think and that thank goodness your husband was not alone, someone helped to get him to safety to be taken care of medically, you his wife and his friends and family giving him their love and wishes he will be alright,.

So happy all worked out after your husbands accident knowing he was in good hands with your care and he is a true survivor to have made it through all he went through and then through two knee replacement surgeries as well. When three of my brothers decided to buy motorcycles to go out and do things on together my Mom was not comfortable my Dad rode a bike all through their dating years and she rode with him. He knew how to fix whatever friends needed help with and my Mom always worried when he went out on his own he was more then capable but always worry that something will happen. A close friend of my Dads and the friends girlfriend were hit by a car in an accident one night when they were all coming home from somewhere they had spent the day

My Dad stayed behind to get things arranged the man and his girlfriend. Both friends died and when the news of the accident came on the radio my Grampa( my Moms dad)
thought it was my parents he was worried not happy when thinking my Dad had kept her out too late but this was not my Dads way . When he realized that my Mom was really late coming home until he was told the news that they had stayed with the friend and waited for the police and ambulance to arrive.

My girlfriends husband was also hit by a car while he was out riding one day they had three little kids at the time and he came home totally paralyzed. So when my brothers came home with bikes she worried this might happen one day to them. It could happen in a car or even walking but you never know. So happy your husband is alright now and that things turned out alright and knowing you are both in caring hands with one another. Holly

@lavender Holly, yes he was very lucky. We came across an accident once, a car hit a guy on a motorcycle. We stayed with the guy until the ambulance got there. His foot was hanging on by a thread. He just kept saying how he was grateful he had just dropped his daughter off at the sitter's or she would have been on the bike with him. We heard later that they saved the foot, but he would be years in therapy to walk again.
I did worry when he rode, but you are right, he could be hit walking or driving a car too.
Have a great day, looks like we are having rain all day.

Hi @Minnie's knees :friends:

I love your avatar so nice for the season and so cute to. I had a wonderful birthday not usually wanting a fuss for my birthday but my husband always does he is always on the lookout for things to buy for occasions and loves planning for them. Weather was beautiful and such a nice time. Looking forward to starting my new cross stitch pattern such a beautiful pattern and my husband had ordered it as it was a new pattern and called the October Fairy she is lovely.

I am sure you are getting anxious to have your knee surgery and knowing it will make so much difference for you when all healed up and you will find it will make things so much easier for movement. I will keep an eye on your posts wishing you all the best and not too much longer to go for you now. Sending you wishes for all the best to come. My surgery date seemed to be so far away but it is sliding along quite fast and just over two more months to go. Hope you are having a nice day. Holly:)

Hi @marmora :flwrysmile:Hello and hope you are having a nice day and so nice you had a chance to see your friends for a nice dinner out and great you had a nice time together. These times are very special and great you had such a nice time. Hope your knee managed alright for you and that you are not having any pain with it to

I am so full so many nice meals this weekend and do not usually out this often in one day. Went for a walk yesterday in the park to wear some of the extra food off but going again today to have Thanks giving supper at my brothers so more food. This week will have to try to cut back as so much food. The carousel is still running in our park and the little train to not sure how much longer but will miss seeing them. The train whistle sounds so nice all through the park and so many little kids and adults alike have enjoyed their time riding it this summer . Three long runs per ticket w:flwrysmile:hich cost around 2.00 each but not something you see in other places often. The carousel is vintage all restored and plays the music from the old times love this park so much.

The weather today is very overcast still a little dark outside at 11am but temp going up to 18 celsius . The temperature has been in the lower digits but tomorrow the forecast is amazing going from mostly in the 7 to 10 range up to 29 degrees celsius so going to take the opportunity to wear my shorts again for a few more times. Shorts feel better on my knees they seem to like shorts more then pants so do I.

I have been working on a very pretty cross stitch she is called "The lady of the mist and just lovely . As the verse that is part of the pattern describes she is sitting in among the mossy roses crickets are chirping and the roses smell sweet and she is enjoying the lovely sun on her skin and looking up to the sky. I am going to post her when she is done she is so content the way she looks and after doing the rest of the skirt on her dress will start putting all of the tiny seed beads on he places they go on the skirt of her dress and ribbins coming down from her waist. I love doing this stuff cross stitch is my passion.

Going to try and have a walk before going for supper hoping it clears a little bit but as there is no sign of rain think we will be alright going.

Wishing you a wonderful day ..It is a holiday weekend here so no stores are open so people will have a chance to see family members of just take the day a bit slower. I really enjoyed our time with my brother and then supper today. His birthday is on the 18 th so this will give us another chance to see each other when we take his card and tickets to him. He works so hard with his job and body shop for cars and then time he spends with his family he is such a good Dad too he is so much like my Dad we both are and he is very important to me. @lavender Thank you! This was the pumpkin I carved last Halloween. The last one was from a few years ago. Don't know if I am carving this year, we haven't bought any pumpkins yet.

Hi Just looking through the little happy face section wishing we had some pumpkins so thought these look a little like they may be fine:yellowcat::yellowcat::yellowcat::mooncat::mooncat::mooncat::mooncat::dubious::dubious::dubious::dubious::dubious:

Hi @tiredwife All I can say is wow I thought it was a picture you had but you really did a great job of your carving looks so real. So many pumpkins around for sale and they differ so much in price. The country market want up to 8.00 for theirs and the grocery store only wants 3.99 for the same sizes. Walmart had a display costing 2.99. The yard areas at the country market we go to are covered with hundreds of pumpkins for sale and just down the road from the market is the farm that the market gets their pumpkins from all displayed hundreds and hundreds of them. Our area on Halloween night is usually very quiet not too many kids out trick or treating we have a very large plastic pumpkin he sits about 3 feet high and so many kids were always surprised when then found out he was not the type you carve looks very spooky. Over the last few years the mall we worked in offers the kids a place to go dressed up and trick or treat at the stores so not too many go door to door now .

You never know if you will need candy for them as sometimes we do get kids mostly the ones that live nearby and some that play in the park that sits one door away from our home. The first year we moved into our townhouse we were warned to have lots of candy some of our neighbors who live further out closer to the street were telling us that some years most years they ran out after having 300 kids so the first year we loaded up on chips and chocolate bars awaiting their arrival to find we had thirty or less most of our neighbors were not home that night so seeing one light turned out some did not go further to check out others.

Being diabetic we do not need this much left over so we started giving out lost more to those who did come. Now maybe only see one or two so we will buy chips probably as this is something we can both have a little bit of. Remembering how much fun we had on Halloween made our own costumes or my Mom helped make things for us and had a lot of fun but not as safe going door to door now and not the same as our Halloweens were. @lavender you are very welcome! We generally have quite a few kids. When we get tired we let the last bunch have all the left over candy! We usually go earlier in the day with our grandson to down town where the businesses hand out candy. They also have what they call trunk trick or treat. People go with their cars to a central location and hand out the candy from the trunk of their cars. There are lots of pumpkins for sale around here too.

@lavender found this emoticon and thought of you

I really like your emoticon and it does look like us feeding the geese and ducks so cute and thanks for showing it so nice. We missed going for a walk today looked like rain so hoping to go tomorrow just one appointment for my husband and then off to the park. The weather is supposed to be very hot in the afternoon and looking forward to sitting with some sunshine. Today was really nice and no more food for me I have had lots and feeling very full so this week planning not so much although we really did enjoy where we went and the food was wonderful feel like a penquin must feel tonight walking the same way not bending well either but last day for large meals and know after all of the excitement I will get a good sleep tonight. Hope you have a nice sleep to. Sending birthday wishes for your husband for the 14th and hope he was a wonderful day to. Holly

No more food we say after having our nice Thanksgiving get together had a really nice time great to get together and ate more this weekend then we normally do but it was so nice. Trying not to laugh or move too fast in case I explode from having so much food and lots of ice water too. Holly

@lavender I will pass the birthday wishes on to my hubby! My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the stuffing, I always make tons because we love snacking on it afterwards! Put your feet up and let your food digest! :)

@lavender I am getting a little anxious as my surgery gets closer. I am ready to have the surgery over with. I had about 2 months to plan and it has gone by so fast. Thank you for the good wishes. Your cross stitch sounds so pretty. This year my daughter will take the granddaughters to trick or treat on a few streets in our neighborhood and then come back to help me hand out candy. I will be 9 days out and I am hoping I will be able to sit on our porch with my leg elevated and ice packs to hand out candy while they are gone for an hour or so. My daughter also does halloween themed finger food and will decorate inside for that day only. We put up our outside decorations over the weekend. Hope you have a good week.

Hi @tiredwife Happy Birthday wishes to your husband and hard to believe it is already the middle of October.Time is going so fast.

My husband loves stuffing to think he would eat it every day I am not as fond of it like mashed potatoes the best. This is a good thing for my husband as it means more stuffing for him but still I have some when we have it.

Today the weather is really nice forecast calls for temperatures up to 29 degrees celsius and sunny. No more appointments for this week so hope your husband Steve has a great birthday and best wishes. Holly
