Hi I am sorry I have to ask you to change my surgery date again but just received a call that the date is now December 22 2014 so asking if it could be changed to this date and thanks so much Holly

Feeling better about the date change and will give me a little longer to get ready dental visit won't be as rush up so close should not have to change it for pre-op . Going to relax and think about something other then knees and enjoy the fall weather and what a nice gift a baby knee for Christmas and more time to stay in doors. Hoping to get out of hospital before Christmas day but if not we will celebrate when I come home . Getting all stocked up on groceries so no need to run around for my husband now putting it out of my mind till December. Might be changed again not really worried whatever happens happens. Holly

Hi I am so frustrated with the surgery and diabetis readings heart readings just going to go for a while not much to say and park is now getting to cold to walk in so see you sometime in December thanks to those who have visited me on my thread but taking a break and forget my knee for a while thanks again Holly

@lavender sorry you are having concern with other health concerns. I know from experience it all seems to come at once. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope to hear from you when you are ready to visit again.

Hello Holly @lavender

You must be a bit disappointed that your surgery date was moved to 22 December and it is a good idea to talk with your family doctor about your post op medications.

Take care and thinking of you,
Cathie

Hi @marmora and thank you for your kindness. I needed a break not from the forum but from medical things just needed to forget them for a while. One good result is that the medication for my diabetes is being changed a bit and thinking some of the pills have actually helped to keep the sugar higher as they stop sugar from falling into a lower range then safe. My blood pressure was too high risk of heart problems pills changed over the past few weeks and think they may be working now so that is getting a little better have to let go of memories birthday is on the weekend and this is first I will not see my Mom how families can change close families that were so different before.

I went today for a walk in our park not so often now as my knee is not comfortable going on the long walks and so nice today we met our friend and had a nice chance to spend a little longer talking and really enjoyed the time. We packed our lunch and although it is quite cold now time to spend with our ducks and geese and seagulls and how much that time means love them so much and some are actually coming up and letting me hand feed them only way some get a chance to eat with so many sea gulls but love them too.

I have missed my time writing and reading posts on bone smart as you all have meant so much to me and missed our park as well so much rain and not a chance to go.

So happy I stopped in did not want to talk about the things that were happening as they are not easy to talk about but so nice to see posts from you and others and thank you for making me feel so nice really appreciate your kindness.

This last month it seems that we are always going somewhere for an appointment for either of us and now things have slowed down so on Monday we took a drive to the needlework store just half an hour from our house and had a chance to visit and look around her store and nice chat together . We have known her for 25 years and have always love getting a chance to see her we have a common interest cross stitch and she loves to knit to and her store is very lovely the theme is all about Gnomes and so many little cute things she has fairies which I love are a favorite of hers to so lots to look at.

My husband was looking for something he had in mind for my birthday and he had placed an order for something for me for a gift and she had called to say it was in and ready whenever he wished to come. When we did not have a car this lovely friend would send parcels in the mail for us she would order things that were hard to find for me and suggest new patterns for things as she knew what I liked to make told her that will not forget how much she did for us and she said sometimes what we bought was all she sold some days and how valued we were to her.

She asked me when we were talking how I framed what I made and I said I did my own . Asked how I did it and she said that is the way it is done. I told her about one pattern I made she sold it to me and it is called Shakespears ' fairies and as it is quite large going to be tricky to find a frame that size she asked if I would be willing to let her display some of my cross stitch she really wants something to show people how they look when done and said she would professionally frame anything I would let her show no cost to me whatever way I wanted my choice of frame and then it would be returned to me . I have another one that is ready but both are 20 inches long and one is 22 inches tall and hard to find the type of frame that would do them justice at this size. The second picture is called the Peace Angel her wings are shades of blue and come up at the top and curl together very pretty and her dress is all shades of white and ecru many shades this is a beautiful angel and ruffles so beautiful so thinking this might be a good choice just not sure if I want to give it up for this long but it would seem nice to go into shop and see something you made on the walls otherwise it will stay in the cedar chest my Gram left me when she died until I find another idea.

Tuesday was seniors day at a place just a bit over an hour from home Mary Maxims and at 50 people can received 20 percent off their purchase. It is a lovely drive the leaves were all starting to turn country roads and the sun was shining such a beautiful day and a nice drive and time to talk. They sell so many nice things sweater kits and wool and rug making great place to buy the floss I use for my cross stitching.

Found a display of foster grant eye glasses and the bottom rack of the display had eye glass cases which were reduced from 10.99 to 1.99 so found 3 pretty ones to purchase really nice. Tomorrow hoping the weather stays nice would love to get back to the park trying to get whatever time to go no appointments so it will be nice to just get up and do our own things. Bought some other cross stitch things and then on the way home my husband suggested we should go for a nice lunch at our favorite place it was a wonderful day and how great to get out with people and things we love to do.

Just about 9 weeks to go till my left knee surgery and so far it has gone by fast. Want the blood pressure and sugar reading to get a bit more stable before surgery hoping they do not make a difference in having a chance to get it done so hoping readings drop a bit.

Hope you are managing fine with your knee and that you are not having any pain and thanking you so much for as you have all along being there it means so much and wishing you a wonderful week. Holly

Hi @tiredwife and @Minnie's knees @Pumpkln Wanting to say how much your posts mean to me and thank you very much needed time to think and missed my time here. This forum and the people I have met on it has meant so much to me sometimes a break makes you realize how much things mean and this forum means a lot to me.

My husband is bustling around the house he is looking for something he put away for my birthday and not sure where he moved it to but knowing I will not peak hoping I do not see what he has hidden it would spoil the surprise. Hoping for a nice day tomorrow we are trying to get a few things ready in our garden but so many days with rain. I am still thankful it is only rain and not ready yet for snow so rain is ok.

Saturday is my birthday this month is birthday month in my family three of my brothers and I have birthdays within the next week or so and my other brother had his at the end of September along with one of my nephews who shares the same birthday on September 28th. We have made plans to go for breakfast on Saturday like going for breakfast the best.

Hoping there might be something nice on at the show on the weekend to my husband gets excited shopping for my birthday I say the best part is having time together and relaxing. Hope you have a great week feeling much better and thanks for your kind posts Holly

@lavender Glad to see you post to know you are okay. I will keep you in my thoughts and hopefully your health concerns will level out as you prepare for your surgery in a few weeks. Happy early birthday! October is a busy month for your family with birthdays. My birthday is a week from Saturday on the 18th.

Hi @tiredwife @Minnie's knees @marmora My birthday is on the 11th my brothers birthdays are on the 16th for my youngest brother and second youngest brother also has a birthday coming up his is on the 18th to like yours Minnies knees my husband and I used to bake a cake for each brothers birthday and have all of our family members over to celebrate their birthdays and watch a movie disc at our house when we were all first married hard to get everyone together now but we all enjoyed it then.

My husband and I have been watching Harry Potter movies this week now on the Prisoner of Azkaban love these movies never get tired of them so much imagination. I will be back to wish your husband Steve a happy birthday next week and for your birthday Minnies knees on the 18th. Hard to believe that my youngest brothers are the age they are my youngest brother was born on the 16 th of October the year I turned 9 years and thought he was almost like a present remember the day I ran home from school he was coming home from the hospital and I did not want to miss anything nice memories loved my brothers growing up loved seeing him when he came home and my brother Greg is in his fifties as well how fast time goes.

Good things in life. Almost ready for bed just a little more to watch and then sleep finding I am sleeping so much more soundly and nice . Hope you are having a nice week and noticing Minnies knees that you have a surgery date wishing you the best and hope all goes amazing I know it will and then your knee will be all fixed up for you.

Happy for the date now as it will give us more time to get things ready just felt bad that the date this close to Christmas may spoil things for my husband we both love Christmas but he said no worry things will work out just fine and not to worry about him he said he will still have time with me to spend together either way.

Our park friend was walking her little dog Jasper today and he has lost interest in the squirrels so we had time to sit together nice time we find all sorts of things to talk about and she was talking one day about the apartment she lives in, it turns out that the building she lives in is the one that we lived in for 4 years before we moved to our townhouse. One floor up and just above the apartment that we had. We have lived where we are now for 25 years but small world she lives where we did told us that things have changed there but still nice place to live. Two weeks till followup on medication changes and the dietitian and nurse and then that should be it till December dentist all set for appointment it works out great doctor and then surgery and then hopefully not too much need to go out for a few weeks. Holly

Good Morning from Dublin to you Holly & your husband, @lavender

Very pleased to see you posting again and can understand that you needed a break with so many hospital and doctor appointments, new medications, that you needed space to absorb it all.

I think it is very lovely that your Cross Stitch will be displayed and that they will be framed for you at no coast. That is a lovely gesture from your friend that owns the shop.

October is a busy family birthday month for you.
And I would like to wish you a Happy Birthday this Saturday :loveshwr:

Take care, pace yourself and continue to send us the lovely and heart warming snapshots of your life.

Cathie

Hi @marmora and thank you. Hope you are doing well and that your knee is giving you an easier time. Felt nice my husband told a few of our neighbors that my surgery date had been set and offers of help if needed from them nice he was told that if ever we needed them remember they are there and although hoping not to have to ask nice to have been given the offer. We went the other day for a pizza had a coupon for a place up the street a bit and so we decided we would bring the pizza home. My husband went in to order the pizza and then back to the car to wait. Just getting ready to go back to check on it and noticed our neighbor crossing the parking lot with a pizza he delivers pizzas same age as us and so not thinking that it was maybe for him . How many times do you have a delivery right to your car thought it was nice of him.

Now a days not often people know the people who live around them not like when we were growing up and the same people stayed in the same homes for years and years and not often as before people feel comfortable talking together as they do not really know the other neighbors. Finding that even though we may not know them close so many are really nice. When we bought our car a couple of years ago we came home and it was raining really hard thundering still getting used to the way different things in the car worked so one of the light was left on. Our neighbor the lady behind us who had a little pug dog Noah had taken time to come out in the rain ringing our door bell to tell us she saw the light on and did not want us to find our battery drained . I thanked her it was pouring out and she told me that all were willing to help if ever needed people are in the most part very nice just a few spoil it for others but most are really nice.

Sometimes we think we know the dogs and cats more then the people know all of their names as they pass by us and spend a few minutes talking with their families . Roses are still blooming and still green so not wanting to cut down any plants yet but the Solomon Seal plant is going golden so hoping to get her cut down and ready for the cold weather.

The rose bush that grew up our fence for more then 10 years had Asian beetles this summer and they ate so many flower blossoms they love the flowers. Now noticing the climbing rose has made so many babies which are now thick over the front of our front fence looking forward to seeing how she looks next summer. Her flowers are very pretty large and soft pink they have a lovely old fashioned scent you can smell for a distance hoping she will be back to the way she was next summer missed her she is called New Dawn.

Summer this year was beautiful fall pretty still so many trees have not changed color yet and leaves are falling as fast as they change color lots of rain. Thanksgiving in Canada is on Monday so going to my brothers for supper. Overcast this morning but usually clears up in the afternoon and then the sun shines. Hope you have a wonderful day Holly

@lavender We have some pretty good neighbors too. One sent her son over to mow our yard when Steve first got home from the hospital.
Our roses are still blooming too, even though we have had some cold nights. Only color on the tree leaves so far is yellow, and a lot have already fallen.
You have a great day!

Hello Holly @lavender

As always, lovely to read your warm and descriptive posts. I'm am making steady and slow progress and feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

We have lived in our home since 1989 and the majority of our neighbours have lived here that long or longer. We have very good and helpful neighbours and our children grew up together and attended the local primary/grade school and secondary school/ high school.

Although we live in Dublin, Dublin is really a collection of small villages and our village is called Sandymount Village. Complete with a Village Green, Church and several local shops and restaurants and being Ireland 3 Pubs.

It is a very friendly area with many sports grounds for rugby, cricket, soccer, swimming pools, tennis clubs and also a golf club, post office, doctors office, physiotherapist, lawyers office, hair dressers, hard ware shops.
All small owner operated businesses and part if the local community.

You always meet several people you know when you go to The Village and have time to chat. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

It's about 5:15 am on Friday, woke up early, and decided to check on posts.

Enjoy your Holiday weekend and dinner with your brother on Monday.

Take care,
Cathie
