I know that feeling which is why I opted to have them done together no way would they get me back for the second one. My healing tended to come in fits and burst some bits improve other bits get worse, but the overall trend was an improvement. At about 5-6 weeks I thought I would never get better then all of a sudden the cructhes were gone. Im 6 months out and still improving, stamina is still down, but with care Im back scuba diving and bike riding and the only problems I have is with a lot of standing, stiffness after sitting, and doing lots of stairs so 4 flights I used to never take the lift but now I do. Good luck with the rest of the healing but for work wise think the longer you can off the better.

puddle fish. You are brave getting 2 for price of 1. Am going to try to stop moaning. Both legs at same time sounds like stuff nightmares are made of .as for work as much as I want to get back into things again , in reality I dont think its going to happen. I am a florist so its constantly standing where my jobs concerned. Also the floor being wet under my feet is a bit worrying. I have fallen a good few times before. Nothing major , but if it was to happen with my new hip I could easily dislocate .

Ice is an excellent pain relief and is your best friend :)

Hi clarabo.....I have a colleague who has a standing job and was told not to return to work for 12 weeks....she is now back at work and copes all day but its tiring.....

clifford149. Well my appointment for os not until 25th june so will be after that for sure. At the moment I cant see past the next day where progress is concerned. Still lack a lot of power in my leg but I know its early days. I just need to be patient.zauberflöte. Well the not moaning lasted five minutes didnt it lol.

Just finished some wedding work from home. Seemed to take me ages to do stuff that I could do in five minutes. Every time I thought I had everything at hand I had to get up for something else. Trying to carry things with one hand on a crutch is hopeless( not to mention a bit dodgy). Moan , moan .

Hurrah for clarabo....I have the same problem tasks just seem to take longer ?

A co-worker loaned me a walker but when she brought it to me she had affixed a bicycle basket and air horn, the basket was a joke but has worked out wonderful. I cart around my pills, bottle of water, book, house phone and cell phone and still room if I need to cart something else. Hubby and I have figured that if I need him while he may be outside I blow the horn.....lol

Liveringer. Your friend is a genius. Tell her im stealing her idea and taking it to dragons den. Could make a fortune selling those. Lol

Liveringer. Have just realised you might not have a clue what im on about if your ffom the usa... dragons den is a british tv programme where people go and and try promote new inventions of their own to wealthy business folk.... it sounds boring but its actually pretty good. X

A friend brought me a bell, like you find on the reception in hotel, so that when I needed something I could ring it and a family member could come running. (the only problem was they always claimed to not hear it from another room). I also attached my grabber to a crutch with a length of elastic. Made me look mad, and the noise it made frightened the postman (he said he thought Long John Silver was coming to the door with all the clacking), but it came in very handy!

I need to do that with my grabber. Always leaving it down in places and forget where iv put it... ended up putting my trousers on with one of my crutches the other day cos I couldnt be bothered looking for it. Just improvise with whatever is at hand.
