Hi Janet
Soooooooooo happy to hear from you. Sorry for the rough start but you are on your way now. Rehab will treat you well. Best wishes. :doggieshmooze:

Hi Janet!
So good to hear from you. Hope that you feel better every day.
CONGRATULATIONS on your new knees!
:friends:

I'm feeling somewhat bettr, but my typin if stiil off. It's been a tough so far. Ican't believeit's actually done. One nice thing here is that every time a baby is born, they play the Lullaby over the PA system! I like that.

Glad you're feeling better, Janet. And we really don't care about the typing as long as we can figure out what you're trying to say.

That's sweet about the Lullaby---and different too.

Take care of yourself, post when you feel up to it, we care.

Janet, Glad to see you recovering in Recovery. I had to laugh at your first post. I had problems with the meds too, and it took me one hour to text "help!" to my sister-in-law.

Hang in there. The meds will be sorted out.

Janet....you're doin' great, hon!!! Welcome to the good side of surgery.

Hi everyone! They switched me to a lighter pain killer (percoset) and oxycontin because I couldn't keep my eyes open and kept falling asleep with food on my mouth. Still don't have a lot of ability to read and write. This has been a slow start, but I'll get there regardless. I passed out the first time they tried to get me up on the walker. I couldn't believe how often and how much I needed to pee! This is the first day I've been able to wait more that two hours. Thank goodness for the bedpan! By the time I need to go, and with the effoort needed to actually. Get uo, I end up peeing on the floor. THAT makes me popular I'm sure!:hysterical: my extension is great, but my flexion is in the 50,s, up from the 30's. It may not be much, but it is MY progress.

I'm starting to close my eyes again, so that's it for now. I head out to the rehab facility today. For now...

you're getting there Janet, I'm off for a week will catch up with you when I get back and I'm sure there'll be a difference. (I pee'd the floor too, don't worry!)

Janet, it's sooooo good to read your posts on the other side now. We all know how it is when you're in "la-la land". It's just as well that my hubby posted that I made it through fine. Don't worry about the small things. You're off to a good start. Improvements in flexing and other things will happen when Cookie and Elmo are ready for it to happen. This is definitely a good time to rest, ice, and elevate -- and take naps.

Hi Janet glad you're feeling well enough to read and write!!! I need your pain management, I take morphine 15mg every 12 h and Percocet every 4h, morphine not working that well for me. The bedpan funny stuff what I tell you? :th_heehee: I know it is hard to type coherently when you're falling asleep as you go:scratch: so get plenty of rest, get ready to work like no body business. Just glad to hear from you, I was so worried.:sleep:
Kim

Thanks everyone. Sorry Kim, that you were getting worried. I'm still struggling to get my head on straight. I'm at the new place now. Will try to feel at home in the coming i days. Waiting for hubby to bring back a small strawberry shortcake sunday so I'll have something to take with my evening meds.

Hi Janet
I have to say that you do make me laugh. But am sorry its been rough for you. Hang in there and dont worry about the peeing on floor. Lol.

Take care of yourself and enjoy that strawberry shortcake.

Lisa. :doggieshmooze:

Janet,
So glad to hear from you. I'm with Kim, I vote for your pain management...what's a little tinkle? Bring on the happy pills!

Janet....you sound really good, hon!!! Each day is going to make things better and by the time you head home, you'll be starting to feel like yourself again. It's so wonderful to hear from you.

Hi Janet!

I am so glad you are on the other side now!:yes 4:

I remember the pain meds that knocked me out and made me loopy!:rolleyespink:

Good luck in rehab, I will keep you in my prayers!:wink1:

Hi Janet, 1ELISEA here. I understand about the pain meds. And it is tough when not used to such high pain med dosages. Enjoy your evening treats and I'll probably be up if you need someone to talk to on line.

Course, we may not make sense, being on pain meds, but hey, it's comforting knowing others are there too.

Glad to hear from you Janet, hang in there. Bedpans - what a pain. I had the needed to pee frequently experience too. All dignity left on the doorstep on these occasions - it can only get better :friends:sending you a hug x

Good morning Janet, you are one funny chicky!:th_heehee: Welcome to your new place! I hope they're good to you there! I hope you enjoyed you strawberry shortcake Sunday, that sure sounds good!:thumb: Nothing like the healing power of ice cream!:yes 4: here wishing you much recovery progress!:friends: have a great day and do enjoy those wonderful meds!

Beautiful morning. As easily as I woke up, after a good night's sleep, I'm now falling asleep after my percoset. They are due back shortly with the long acting oxycontin and an antibiotic. The nurse is concerned that I might already have an infection in Elmo, or maybe it's just my inner Elmo showing through. A whole bunch of people just started parading through. OT and PT are on their way back to do the interview. So I'll end here for now.
