Revision TKR JennyLynne's "full" disclosure

@sistersinhim I agree, sounds like too much! Last time, it was 3x a week. I will see how it goes and space it out if needed. I'm glad it's at my home so I don't need to expend any energy to get there and back.

I was prescribed 3x/week for 6 weeks. I've only managed twice a week, then once last week and next bc of crazy end of school year insanity. Im a bad PT patient. Lol.

Glad you are doing well! Keep up the good work!

Rough day... very nauseous and light headed. The meds haven't had any bad effect on me until now. I haven't been eating much and I think that's the cause. Just need to ride it out....

If you can eat much, try to at least drink some protein drinks or shakes. You need all the protein you can get. And protein takes longer to digest, so would be in your tummy longer to help keep that nausea away.

Thanks for the tip. I'll send my husband out for some later.

I had to eat something when I took my pain meds or I got nauseous. Even it's just a shake, or pb crackers it helps the stomach.

I too need to eat a nibble when taking pain meds. Graham crackers are good.

Do you eat during the night? I just roll over, pop a pill and try to get back to sleep. But I think that's what got me today... had some dinner at 6pm, and had 4 rounds of meds before I ate again.

I kept fig newtons and a water bottle by my bed. I popped the fig newtons, then the pills and TRIED to sleep. Sleep was elusive for weeks and it had nothing to do with the pain pills.

I keep a sleeve of graham crackers on the nightstand. I pre-crack them. Then I pop a broken piece of cracker in my mouth, take a big swig of water or tea or coffee, dissolve the cracker, swallow. Then I take my pills.

I don't always fully wake up. I can go back to sleep without much trouble most of the time. I'm not having the trouble sleeping many of my recovering friends have reported.

I used the go go applesauce pouches for my middle of the night narcotics. Easy on the stomach, doesnt need refrigerating and not messy. I'm gluten free so I can't do saltines and easy stuff. Lol

I keep a sleeve of butter rounds at bedside and take them every pill I take...it really helps! Hang in there!

These are great ideas! I now have some ritz and graham crackers stashed on the night stand!

I had a jar of peanut butter and a sleeve of saltines at my bedside for night time meds. Sometimes a banana. I drank a Premier Protein (chocolate) with iced coffee every morning. I never took a pill without something being eaten and I was never nauseous nor did I lose my appetite (unfortunately, I was hoping to lose 5 lbs.) :)
Sounds like you're doing well and it only gets better.

@jaschembra I was hoping this was a jump-start to my summer diet! [emoji23]
I have a nice grocery list thanks to you all, and hope this goes better now.
I'm eating a grilled chicken pita as I type... need protein!

i had the nausea and lack of appetite since knee replacement (April 19) up until 2 days ago. nothing helped, even eating a couple of crackers with meds and i ended up stopping all meds at 3 weeks post op. it took a week and a half to get the oxycocet (which i think caused all the issues) out of my system and luckily enough i haven't had much pain. lost 12 lbs. but i'm feeling much better as of 2 days ago. i don't advocate stopping your pain meds if you need them. hopefully if you keep your tummy with a little food, you will start to feel better. i really empathize with you. best wishes.

My go to meal those first two weeks was white rice, shredded chicken breast and a bit of cheese. Nice & bland. With my meds I ate eye applesauce, 1/2 banana, some eggs, or a frozen fruit bar.

Oh, and I ate black licorice every night to help with the other stuff that pain meds seem to do :)
And I swore I was getting addicted to saltine crackers - they are probably my least favorite crackers and I just seemed to keep eating them at various times a day!
