@Izabel I am sorry things are getting you down, it is a difficult time, but you will get there and all will soon get easier, roll on Jan 15th when you see your surgeon, I see mine on the 24th! we will have to compare notes, beautiful views and sunshine. Hugsxxxxxxxxx
I will not be staying up for the New Year to arrive ... I have not done so for years as since 2013 when I had breast cancer and was undergoing Radiotherapy over the holiday period. In 2014 I had my hip replaced in December and was released home 23 December so was recuperating. December 2015/January 2016 saw my hubby going through Radiotherapy for a neck tumor. There was an uneventful 2016 ... Then we get to 2017 ... and my story tells the rest.
Portugal sends the old year out by by clanging garbage can/pot pan lids together to shoo it away ... and if I were able I would be outside doing so!
However, I will look forward to a healthy and happy and MOBILE 2019 ... and wish everyone on here the same. Thank you all for being there when I desperately needed help and reassurance. My love to all. xx
Hubby has a followup this Friday in Lisbon ... on the fast train it's 2 1/2 hours, so a long day alone for me. However, the inconvenience for me is all worthwhile if/when he gets a positive result.
Hope you have a good week too and a bit slower than over the holidays. xx
That was a nice dream, Izabel. I love garden centers, so pretty and relaxing, one of my happy places.
Less than two weeks until your appt. Will pray all goes well for you and hubby.
Come here when you're alone, we'll keep you company.
A great rest of the week to you! @Izabel
Good news, hubby got cleared having had fibreoptic camera put through his nose ... eek! He doesn't have to go back till next January. He didn't get the fast train so the journey was 2 hrs 50 mins each way plus the 20 mins each way to the station so he left at 8,30am and got home 5.30pm ... for a 10 minute exam!!!!
Me, I am doing okay. Today I did 5 minutes on the peddler, backwards AND forwards so great progress. My calf muscles are building up nicely, almost there. Earlier this year I could pinch the flesh on my calf and touch fingetrips in the middle!
Splendid news for hubby.
I know you are very relieved!
Glad you are heartened by your progress...I know you will continue to get better and better.
This recovery journey is a test of patience...but I believe I emerged from it all stronger and more grateful for all the little things.
Onward...
Great news on hubs, Izabel! Wow, what a lot of travel for a 10 min office visit. Poor guy.
Sounds like you're seeing great results on the bike. Woohoo!
Keep it up. I hope you have a nice Sunday and a great week. @Izabel
Thank you @Mojo333 and @Layla ... you are always there to give hope and encouragement. xx
Over the weekend I remembered a dream I had had frequently for over 20 years. Has anyone had them? This entailed me walking somewhere and for some reason I started to run ... but I couldn't because my left leg kept dragging behind me holding me back. Since I had the fall and hip replaced in 2014 I haven't had that dream, even though I have had these issues the past 15 months.
Perhaps I am a Soothsayer.
I must say in the 80s I worked with a girl and I could read her mind. One example, on my lunch hour I went to the grocery store for a few items and stopped at the cheese counter. I looked and looked and thought 'I don't need any cheese' but chose some anyway. When I got back to work, this friend came to me and asked if I got her cheese for her. Incidents like this happened often between us. I have a friend here where this happens. Actually she and hubby are coming over Thursday and bringing lunch ... she is such a Sweetie, and 20 years younger than me!
Definition of Soothsayer by Merriam-Webster Dictionary : a person who predicts the future by magical, intuitive, or more rational means
PS Edited because I put the wrong year for my hip replacement.
That dream certainly sounds ominous considering you had that accident.
I am praying that one week from now you get some Very good news...and things can go forward.
A new dawn...and a healing new year is my wish for you dear Izabel.
You're magic, Izabel! Lol.
Crazy how things can happen like that incident with the Cheese.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy your lunch visit with friends on Thursday. @Izabel
Update ... Had a phone call from my Surgeon at 5.15pm today (Saturday) saying my bloods are within limits, SED 22 and CRP 3.2 and that I can toe touch to walk! Next appointment is 5 February and if all is clear then we will discuss Revision date!! Hurray! I am overjoyed! He warned me there was still a risk with the Revision that the infection may come back so he wanted to be sure I was clear.
Today I increased my cycling to 7 minutes and I walked 6 steps cautiously with the walker... anticipating a release from NWB. More steps tomorrow.
Wonderful news, Izabel! I'm so very happy for you.
In all honesty, that's the best news I've heard so far this weekend.
Big hugs to you. Things are looking up! @Izabel
You know, I feel like a big weight has been lifted off me. It is amazing how much my spirits have been lifted and how 'light' I feel! My SED had gone up to 50 and my CRP still above where it should be on the December check so getting under last week was a blessing. I know there is still a long way to go but I think I see the end of the tunnel, and not through blinkered eyes.
So, off now to pedal and take a few steps. Seeing the treadmill in the emojis ... I bought one a couple of years ago after my original hip op ... it scared the heebee jeebees out of me so I sold it!
@Izabel What wonderful news
You certainly deserved some!
You have many on the forum who are ever so happy to hear your good news.
The New Dawn is glowing on the horizon and we are cheering for you!
Hope today is a good good day!
