Nat. It seems like a good idea to try to manage your pain and improve your sleep pattern. That will give you more energy to pursue the "why" of your pain. I'm assuming you mean that the results of your MRI needs to be reviewed and corrected. If that's correct, I can understand why they don't want to release them yet.

Jamie has a good sequence of action and Sonja will come through with Dr. Maale. Hang in there!

Hugs.

Do you think it's right that they can't release the MRI scan until its been re reported on?
Absolutely! No self-respecting radiologist or radiography department would released scans or films without reporting on them first. How long has it been since you had the scan done?

I had the scan on the 11th July the results were in Friday and it didn't state wether SC was present or not so the registrar said he was going to get them reported on again and I was told they'd won't release them until they've been reported on by medical records but the registrar said I could have them straightaway I was very confused!!

Thanks so much everyone for the support and advice it means so much to me.

I had the MRI on the 11th July and went for the results Friday in between this I requested that I purchase a copy of this and the report and was told about 3 weeks ago that this was fine and they would send it to my local hospital this never happened so when I attended my appointment on Friday I received the results of the MRI but all that had been put in the report was that the TKR was stable and it was actually an MRI looking for the synovial Chondromatosis and this hasn't even been mentioned so my consultant said he was going to ask for the radiologist to report on it again and state wether the SC was evident or not,he said it should at least say "no sign of SC" I told the registrar about Dr Maale and said it was a great idea and discussed with the nurse to help me get copies so off we went to medical records and the lady in charge was absent so I paid for what I wanted and was told it would be posted Monday but when I rang I was informed I couldn't have them because it needed re reporting on.
So not sure how long I'll wait now for them.
As for the appointment with my consultant looks like ill just have to wait, his secretary did say she would try and sort something out and get me some answers but she never rang back today.

No word from the private secretary I did however get 2 appointments for Wrightington through the post one for 19th October and one for the 2nd November wonder which one they would like me to go to?!!!

When it rains it pours Natalie - go for the early one and let them deal with the chaos!

Yes - but it's not your mess it's their mess. Let them sort it out and assume the early appointment is yours.

That would be good Jamie hopefully my scans will be with me tomorrow.Ive no idea how ill afford treatment if it does come to that.
Natalie, don't worry about the money situation at this point. I have a few ideas and so do some others! But Natalie, they MUST release those scans and records to Dr. Maale so he can reassure you and we can put a plan into action! I am a shifty character you know, :skep: and I do have a few ideas in the works, but without YOU, I can't make anything happen! :happydance:

Natalie, you shouldn't be waiting for the private secretary to get back to you. Ring them and remind her she was supposed to follow up. Then have her confirm when she will get back to you.

Thankyou so much Sonja xxxx

Well I've emailed both his secretaries and tried ringing them both all morning until I finally got through to his private secretary she has spoken to the registrar who I saw on Friday and he is waiting for a response from Mr Temperley the consultant radiologist about the MRI and then he's going to get back to her.She did say you do however have an appointment with Mr Porter for when hes back and I said I know but of rather not wait that long and I'm not sure I can and if I can see someone as senior as Mr Porter ASAP that would be much better so she said she's going to ring me back when she hears something.
In the meantime through the post came a cancellation letter for the 19th October!!!!

Ok so some more news the scans have been released and are being sent in the next post they will come on a CD with a password for me to be able to look at them,I've also requested my surgery notes and X-rays

[Bonesmart.org] It's been a long time.....
Finally .......

Natalie,
Now when you finally get all the scans etc, Please send them off to Dr Maale. We want to see you out of the pain you are in. Don't worry about the other stuff for now, just let heim see them to see IF he can help you.

I'm praying for you, dear Natalie. This has been such a horrible experience for you and your family. There just HAVE to be some good days ahead if we can only get to them.

Thank you Jamie hopefully they are round the corner.

My amazing husband ordered us a new orthopaedic mattress as he wanted to try anything to help me sleep its very very comfy and he's sleeping soundly but even a comfy bed hasn't helped, every position I try to sleep in as I doze off my knee locks it must happen when I'm relaxed and when I move again its so painful to unlock Im nearly screaming in pain,Scott says he's heard me a few times this week crying in my sleep. The drugs off the docs seemed to help for a couple of nights but I'm back to being unable to drop off tonight.
Hope you're wellJamie xx
