Aw Natalie, so sorry I can't take that pain away. Just want you to have a big ((((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))) from me. Hang in there! Not long to your appointment.

Thanks Jaycey I honestly thought the pain couldn't get worse but I was so wrong!!

I've been through 600mls of oramorph in 4 weeks!!

I'm In a mess today I'm worried sick about tomorrow I'm convinced they will tell menu have to just live with it and this is the best ill ever be :(

Ah Natalie, keep strong. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Tomorrow may bring you some good news. Don't let them fob you off. Be strong and let them know how much pain your in. I am crossing fingers and toes that it will go well. Take care, big hugs, Dawn xxx

Natalie, one thing you need to keep in mind - demand to see the surgeon. Not anyone else. Tell them you will wait until he is available and that your pain levels are no longer tolerable.

Stay strong a bit longer - almost there!

Natalie,

Stay strong and stick to your guns. You are the one inside your body and if you know there is something not right and having this much pain you need to keep pushing until someone listens to you. I just can't believe there is nothing out there that can not help. Just don't give up.

Hang in there and my thoughts and prayers are with you tonight and more that things will go well for you tomorrow.

Thankyou so much Karmigirl xxxxx

It's 630am and me and hubby been awake since 530 talking things through I think he's more scared than me xxxx

Sending you positive (((((((((((vibes)))))))))))) for today Natalie. Fingers crossed. Wish I could come and escort you to your appointment. But you do know we will all be with you in spirit. Hope we can all fit in that consulting room! :grouphug2:

Wishing you all the best for today - positive thoughts being sent to you xxx

Hi Natalie, I pray you get answers today. Stay strong in mind and keep positive. You can get through this. Good luck.

Oh Natalie!

I am so sorry. Hasn't this happened before with the consultant not being there? He needs to be there for his patients!:hissyfit:

So I arrived to discover my consultant wasn't in clinic and I burst into tears and sat in the waiting room I was called through straightaway and saw his registrar who explained Mr Porter had left her strict instructions and he had been called away on an emergency.

So we talked through my problems and I told her everything from every little pain to every titch and pins and needles and she listened and at the end she gave me her verdicts without even looking at me!

She said after speaking to the consultant at my A&E Blackpool who I saw a few weeks ago that they were convinced that I had a bleed inside I think she called it a heamatoma and that would cause a lot of swelling and pain.

She was also sure my synovial chondromatosis was back and that was cauisng most of my pain and symptoms. She also thinks there may be an infection as recent blood results were still elevated and to top it all off she believes the instability is from damage to my ligaments.

So this is the plan

I need an aspiration under GA and I've had swabs fro MRSA and blood tests done.
I need an EUA (exam under anesthesia) to see how much my implant is moving as every time someone touches my knee I shoot through the roof so it will be easier to see how much it's moving while I am under GA.
If there isn't too much instability (not enough to warrant revision asap) then they will either do a scope and try and clean out my chondromatosis or they will open it up totally and do it that way.
If there is instability they will stop what they are doing and discuss revision and my only option here will be hinged replacement which she said they will attach to rods through my thigh and shin I didn't go in to this too much as I already had so much floating around in my head.
The main thing we did discuss was that they will never ever be able to eradicate the pain because they cannot get rid of the SC all together as the synovium cannot be removed so there is always risk of regrowth and also this causes a lot of permenant pain which I knew about. So I won't benefit from a fusion and even if i end up having a revision I will always be in pain and always at risk of the SC growing back.

So I have had my pre op and I will go in for the procedures on the 30th April.

Thank you so much for being here and listening and helping me.

I may need lots more in the future xxx @Josephine:

I forgot to add she is also convinced that my DDD has become worse and is pressing on a nerve causing some of my symptoms so I need to deal with that at some point and I also need a patella release soon!

Natalie,
At last you have a plan and someone who listened to you, just sorry the consultant was called away in an emergency. All the best on April 30th.
