Why wait till morning, go to A & E or phone NHS24. If it is an infection surely better to start treatment ASAP. Good luck

Natalie, I'll tag Jo so that she sees your question quickly. @Josephine:

I'm glad you are going to have it checked out quickly. Any fever?

Rats....now I see that Jo is off the forum. So, she may not see your post until tomorrow. Sorry, Natalie. Try not to worry.

Other than this, how have you been doing? I miss you here on BoneSmart. I bet those kiddos are getting quite grown up by now.

It's ok Jamie I'll catch her tomorrow.

I'm ok thankyou becoming increasingly frustrated with not being able to do more with this damn knee but trying to get in with things.
Kids are ok eldest is in middle of deciding what to do for her GCSE options and the youngest has joined a band!

How are you?

Oh Natalie, you poor thing! From (not so) fond memory, that's just how my cellulitis started - a local area of redness and much pain.

Do you have a temperature?

If it is cellulitis, don't panic - it's a very superficial skin infection and rarely any danger to the implants. But you do need to get some antibiotics ASAP.

Funny, this is the second case we've had post here ....... if that's what it really is, of course.

Hi Jo thanks so much for replying :)

No temperature but the knee and most of the leg is red hot?!

I did think about Cellulitis as my mum has had it before I'll head to GP first thing.

Natalie....so sweet of you to ask. Hubby and I are doing just fine. Busy as always, but that's a good thing. I'm glad Jo checked back in tonight. I hope this gets resolved quickly for you! Let us know how you get along!!!

Hi Guys thanks for being here despite me being AWOL for sometime. The doctor came to the house and he said he suspects it is an infection as I do have a temperature I hadn't felt hot but according to the thermometer I was!Its very inflamed hot to touch and the red patch is worrying so he's drawn around it and if it gets any bigger I'm to ring them and I've to start a course of antibiotics and they are coming back Thursday and if I'm no better he wants to take further action he never said what though!

Hi Natalie, it is good to see you again. Glad the GP came by your home!

My husband had a family member who had cellulitis (if that's what you have, I'm actually not familiar w/it myself) that was treated recently w/IV antibiotics in the hospital and is fine now. He had a knee replacement years ago...not even sure if it was that leg. He was actually traveling to see his family and his son-in-law was an MD, so thought it was best he get the IV therapy.

Hope you feel better soon.

Helen

Hi Helen,

He isn't sure wether it's a skin infection or an infection in my knee he said if the antibiotics that he gives me don't work he will do some blood tests.

How are you?

I'm certainly glad you got this checked out, Natalie. Here's hoping it is "just" a skin infection! Please take good care of yourself!

Oh Nat,
Praying for you - keep us informed!!!
xoxxo,
Linda.

Thanks Jamie I hope it is too I feel pretty lousy and really need some sleep but I just can't sleep longer than half hour!

Thank you so much Linda xxx

Natalie, hope you feel better soon .i guess the antibiotics take 48-72 hours to show they're working. Take care!!
