Hi guys I need your help if you don't mind I am struggling so much with my meds!!!
I have been on so many and I am struggling with the new ones MST I have been on them 3 months and I feel sick dizzy constipated alert tired weird all rolled in one!
My stomach is so sore from all the meds I have taken over the years and now I am experiencing stomach pains every time I eat :(
I am seeing my GP in the morning and I feel like I am running out of options I have been on the following in last 8 years
Tramadol normal and slow release
MST
Oxycontin
Gabepentin
Pre Gablin
Amytryptyline
Nortryptyline
Paracetemol
Oramorph
I am sure there is more what other options do I have???
Nat..sorry you are having so much discomfort. I looked up MST...it seems to have lots of interactions. I agree with Jamie....way over my head!! Chin up!
I have a list here with their strengths comparable to Morphine
Fentanyl patches are quite commonly used and wouldn't impact on your stomach.
I think there are other patches too.
Hi Natalie - quite a cocktail you have been taking. No wonder your poor tummy is suffering.
I have never used the Fentanyl patches but know several people with major lower back problems who swear by them. Patches would certainly get around the stomach issues. They did have to work a bit to get the dose right so that's something to consider.
Take care Natalie. Please let us know how your appointment goes!
Thankyou thankyou thankyou Jo that chart has helped so much and I was able to get pain patches this morning Please pray for me now that they work and the doctor also gave me some tablets for my tummy that are prescribed to cancer patients who are on long term medication as she said she thinks it will really help get me "regular" I hope so I was so sick this morning I wasn't sure I would even make the small journey to the doctors luckily after some anit nausea meds I managed to get there and thank goodness I so hope they work as I really have had enough!
It may take a while to get the dosage to work but hopefully it will be a vast improvement.
Thanks again everyone for being such a huge support xxx

I am stopping by with a major concern and hope that my Bonesmart friends may be able to help I started with what I presumed was a usual flare up on Friday the pain became increasingly worse and I then was unable to put any weight through it and was taking up to 70 ml Oramorph daily as well as my 20mg Bu Trans which until a few weeks ago have been working great for the pain.
Fast forward to this morning and I have a red mark the size of a 20 pence piece on my knee cap next to my scar it has never been there before and I am very concerned this could be the start of an infection the pain is getting worse I haven't slept for 72 hours and I will be phoning my GP first thing in the morning (monday UK) in hope they will be able to help.
I am struggling around the house on crutches and I am wearing 2 pain patches naughty I know but I can't go on with the pain :(
