Glad things are awesome!

I NEED more CRAPPY ADVICE! THIS SUCKS

Found you! Now to go back and read the whole thread :D

Absolutely!!!! plus theres more , Marys is growing. They have 5 stores in my area that i know of. Rafas closed . In fact Rafa himself moved to your neck of the woods. The recession killed him. He actually started working at Costco pushing carts and stuff. Very quickly moved up, promoted to deli supervisor which pays like 21$ per hour. Than transferred to LA area. Good guy !! BTW I lived in san Francisco for 24 years and been here ever since. The city had great pizzas when I was a kid in the 70s. For me now in santa rosa I have to go to petaluma to OLD CHICAGOS.its a pizza pie !!!

Hey Icep707, I just read most of your posts on your recovery. Keep up the good work you are doing well. I know I have had a lot of the same difficulties in my recovery. You are doing well. I am now one of your followers. bill

Congrats on the road trip and being able to shower . I'm sure your GF will appreciate that greatly . Yes, this is a big week end for NASCAR fans . It means the season has started again . I had plans to go over for part of it but you know how that went . We've toured the track before and it's a really neat place and a bargain as far as touristy type things go .

I have PT at 11:00 east coast time .

Rick

@icep707... Wow. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! Great work! Amazing how different each day is. I am getting ready to head out for my PT appointment. I definitely feel like they are helping me improve. It has been kind of nice, in reference to your statement, to get to see my kids and wife in a more extended fashion. We all usually let our jobs become us and vice versa. I will go back to work when I feel I am best recovered to take care of others. I certainly don't do anyone good if I am not at full strength.that pizza you had sounded good! Have a great one Iceman!

Ate there several times, then we would hit Steamer Lane ha ha! I am sure you knew that place well ;)

More MPS love: Not sure how they did it, but they had this special pepperoni that would curl up when cooked and form these little pepperoni "cups" with tiny pools of grease inside. Just unhealthy as it could get, but wicked good pizza! Yes, it's true, we used to be obsessed with that pizza, but it was addictive. So glad to hear they are still around and the next time I am up that way we will have a happy feast.:)

Yeah yesterday was my first day out , never would of imagined id be laying down rolling down the freeway . My ROM is dissapointing but thats due to internal swelling , I believe. And may be due to the fact that I have been moving along faster than I ever imagined. You got to remember I read some of the most sad ,torturous, heartbreaking stories on bonesmart before my surgery. So my expectations were mixed. My confidance and attitude never wavered for a minute. But ever so cautiously aware. So my early progression is a welcomed surprise but it allows me do to things that I should not this early on. So basically just because I can do doesn't mean I should do it . Discipline will be my next challenge. And patience. Im still laying around elevated and iced up in a textbook fashion. ima rest knee for 36 hours and focus on my bend. Thanks for listening to my head . Hope everyone is getting better each day and pray for those facing the bad weather. Wishing you bonesmarties, safety and warmth.

Icep: So basically just because I can do doesn't mean I should do it .

Oh, THIS! I should pin to my blouse as a reminder.

I went out last night and was gone total about three hours (without elevating and icing) sitting in the car and on uncomfortable restaurant chair. I survived but am paying the price today since both knees are so swollen! The skin over my knees actually hurts...

Im Glad you found me Jacki ! You little rascal ! You thouht I was hiding from you .HUH ..??? Im just awed by your resilence to battle through this , as if now we have a choice in the matter. I suppose we can rolled over and die:no-fin:. Karrington , my overgrown baby in her little incubator. All wrapped up like cotton candy. its all good i have been elavated all day and resting, so i can focus on gentle bending. God bless

:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked: bwhahahhahaha wrapped all up nice. Who me? Where Where???? :rofsign::rofsign:

Hey ice, I finally got a chance to plow through your thread and wow....you're making it look as easy as a Russian ice skater winning gold!
You're so right, a major key to success is preparing your mindset beforehand. Reading through BS about all the success (and not so successful) stories has given me mixed feelings as well. Do you set the bar high, shoot for the stars and risk the let-down? Or do you plan for the worse and approach conservatively so that any progress above normal is considered success? Seems like you've leaned towards the latter and it's working well for you.
Just keep on truckin (or RV'ing it sounds like) down recovery road, you'll be at your destination in no time!!

You set smaller goals on your way to your ultimate goal . There are good days, bad days and great days . You just never know which you're going to wake up to but in time the good will out number the bad . The hard part is convincing yourself .

Red Rider. I was wondering what happened to you. I Just remembered you are still pre op side. Whats the status. ?? Knee bothering you? Do you have a date? Its not as bad as we fear? I have had a positive attitude from the day I got my schedule date . I also joined bonesmart that very day. And have been on everyday since. I need to get a life !!! As you know from reading Bonesmart it can absolutely frighten the BeJesus out of you. But it can also prepare you like no other. So its up to that individual to apply that preparation.

The surgery went flawlessly, And my pain was minimal at worst, except until the spinal started to wear off but dummy me rejected 2 offers of oral medication at midnight and at 3, at 4:15 am I asked for a reliever. That was my fault because it was a throb so it wasnt the pain I feared and I tried to ride it out! RedRider !! The bottom line I think is that the medication works !! 2) ones level of pain threshold. Mines must be pretty high. I did however go in expecting the worst. Even imagined myself rolling on the ground , pulling my hair out, screaming out "Why God Why". Having said that , there are recoveries I read that are like that and it sad. Lack of meds ? Low tolerance to pain, surgeon error, crummy nurses or people just not prepared. I guess I hit the perfect storm , I still have alot of challenges ahead but as of today im beyond happy. Let me know , when you get your date !!! Best of luck

as of today im beyond happy
Was stopping in to check on you...... (well, ummm, ok, someone mentioned you were having a pizza party).

Very impressed that you are beyond happy!
That's a big Woot sir! :thumb:
Fantastic!

I'm sure you've been reading Karringtyn's posts . I feel so sorry for her . I hope our posts haven't contributed to her feeling so bad . You and I are exceptions to the norm and not everyone can expect the same . Maybe we should cut back on our posts talking about how well we're doing, at least for a while .

Rick

It is good to be honest! Good or bad other members need to get all perspectives of recovery. You are both entertaining enough your threads have been great to read! We are just all different - different knees, surgeons, medication and therefore different recoveries. I was also lucky with my surgery - IMO - but it may be completely different when I have the other one done. Just be yourselves - it is appreciated.

Ivan the meat cutter huh? Sounds like a Russian mafia name .

@RickSt No No No No!!! Do NOT stop posting about your great recovery! It gives us lots and lots of insight knowing not everyone is going through a difficult time!!! I need to know some people are doing fantastic and that not everyone is going through the ringer!
