TKR Hopefaith's Ups and Downs of Recovery

Wedding sounds beautiful glad you made it, with it being much further away than you anticipated.
Hope your knee behaves today.

Cont. I met her family, lots of family drama there, won't bore you. They did the "sand thing". Do any of you know about the two colors of sand? Each of them, bride and groom, pour a different colored sand into a jar alternately. The two colors mix and can never be separated. I had never heard of that tradition.
My knee did okay. I took an ice cooler of ice and kept changing out my bag of ice. Since the ceremony was short and very sweet I didn't have to stand long without ice. I was so ready to get home and do my real ice wrap and ohhh did it feel good. Of course there was the grandmother of the bride who hiked her capris up to reveal her two TKR scars of five years ago telling me she had no problems at all. ( Dear Lord.....May I never forget this period of my life so that I can have compassion on those going through it currently...amen)
So very long post for me. I wonder how you all are doing so I will be visiting you today and lying low with lots of ice.

@hopefaith Our friends did the sand thing at their wedding, because there is kids in the family they had sand too. They all poured them together.

Sounds beautiful! Maybe the grandmother wanted to encourage you that it will all be ok. ;) glad you are home and resting!

Time erases the memory of pain and discomfort---so grandmother of the bride just doesn't remember after 5 years. And I had no problems---but that doesn't mean that I didn't have pain, discomfort, lack of sleep, and all those other fun things that come with new knees.

Thank goodness I forgot being born!

Maybe, like me, you were a test tube baby, which is quite common on the planet I come from. It does have its advantages. A womb with a view; Windex instead of diapers.....the downside is, what do you get a test tube for Mother's Day and what do you get a syringe for Father's Day?

You are both comical @JustJeff and @Phil75070 :)

@hopefaith - happy that you enjoyed the wedding. It is unfortunate that the directions were not great but a good thing that you made it on time! Sounds like a nice wedding and the sand sounds like a nice tradition.

Funny that the bride's grandmother commented on how she had no problems with her TKRs. I had 36 hours of labour, 3 epidurals and a back infection with my first born and I went on to have two more. Thank god we forget the pains we go through!
