I got 90 today! Yahoo! Bigger news, is that I was actually able to lift my foot off of the table during PT! My quad is definately starting to wake up! My PT guy and my husband were very proud of me today during my therapy! I was proud of me too!! Now off to ice and elevate for a few hours!

A VERY BIG HIP!HIP!HURRAY!
Ain't it just grand---make of note of this milestone--you'll need to remember it when things aren't going so well.

Great news Holly, what wonderful feeling it is isn't it?! :yahoo: Every day brings new and exciting improvements! Enjoy each one you work hard for it!:friends:

Holly,
You are doing so great! CONGRATULATIONS on doing so well! Keep up the great work and wishing you daily success!

OH MAN - good date night for me!!!

My hubby and I went out for sandwiches at a local sub shop in our town, and then we went to a movie! (Rock of Ages - plot wasn't great but the music was!!) The folks at the theater got me a chair to put my leg up on so I was perfectly content throughout the movie. :thumb: Almost felt "normal"!

It was pretty weird having my husband up front driving the truck and me sitting in the back seat behind him. Oh well - it worked, felt great to get out for a few hours doing something normal.

Just wanted to share a bit of normal!! Have a great weekend everyone!

Holly, that sounds so fun and "normal". I am glad to hear that you got to enjoy a "date night" with your hubby. :yay: Take good care of yourself!

That does sound nice doing something so normal. I'm still at the stage where I wonder if I could sit still for 15 minutes let alone for a whole movie so good for you!

Just got back from PT. Whew - that man works me! :gaah: He's great, we laugh but he does encourage me to push myself. He's so good about not pushing me too far, but just far enough! Today we added 3 new exercises to encourage my quad muscles to continue to engage. Leg lefts from each side and then a leg lift from my stomach. I can do them all - but can't do them from a sitting up or lying down on my back position! :beg: Very frustrating - but that one will come as I do it from the other angles! ROM is still hovering around 90 and I wish it was better, but keep reminding myself that I'm only 3 weeks since surgery. Today I was showing him how I walk with just one crutch and he said to go for it - all the time! Yahoo! :yes!: I'd been doing that at home, but it's good to know he agrees that my walking is good with just the one. I'm anxious to get to a cane. Maybe in a week or so. We'll see.

Have a great week everyone.

Holly, looking good kiddo! One day ata time, that's all we can do and before we know it it'll be our 1 year anniversary and we'll say, "piece of cake"! Wait, oh.... I just woke up! :heehee:
I wish you continued success Holly! :friends:

I did it!!! Straight leg raises SUPER high in the air!!!!!!!!!! :happydance:
I just can't hardly believe I finally accomplished it. I was at PT doing quad sets and attempting leg lifts - my PT guy had to take a call and told me to keep trying to lift it. Then it just happened! My husband got the funniest look on his face and I said "I DID IT!!" he told me he thought I was cheating and he was trying to figure out how I'd done it!! :rotfl: I said - "WATCH AGAIN" and then did it again. Then I busted out in tears...:boohoo:happy tears. He ran over and hugged me. I think I cried through most of the rest of my PT today!! What a big day. I also have ditched the crutch and am using my cane, and I was able to get into the front seat of my car by myself for the first time and made it down the steps on my rear by myself! I think I need a nap...:heehee:

Have a great day everyone.
