THR Hippity Doo Dah!<

Interesting about bridges. My home PT had me do some last week but I couldn’t get my butt even a hair off the bed so we stopped.

And there we have it folk, the perfect way to deal with the overzealous demands of PTs. (I’m not suggesting you were pretending Jennylynne. Just recommending that the rest of us do!)

Another big Happy Birthday to You from me.

Happy birthday @Carriemay60 Hipster Sister!

I was having physic privately and the clamshells screwed me up early on. I took the advice from this forum and refused to do bridges. Even now I am scared to try… Icing, elevating and taking painkillers regularly sorted it out. I was furious re the setback but lesson learnt. Happy Birthday Carrie-May and hope you can have some cake whilst in the elevated position…

PS had a really rough time at the dentist yesterday Got home, sat in the car and cried - I had held it together until then. My husband gave me a big hug, codeine with paracetamol and strong rum with orange juice (not medically recommended). I felt a lot better after that! We went out for a curry where I had lentils with rice which was all I could cope with. However, the staff were delighted at how I was walking and offered me my usual cushion to sit on but I didn't need it. It is the small things… I hope you feel better very soon x

Happy Birthday! Yes stay away from them bridges...I also had a lot of pain from marching slowly up and down a long room at PT a few weeks ago. I have returned to PT after a 2 week break and only do mini squats, toe raises which help the most and squeezing a ball while lying flat. For the rest he massages gently my swollen thigh and stopped doing rotations. Hopefully the pain will subside today with all the icing and rest and you can get back to walking outside and more.

Happy Birthday Carrie!
I hope you're having a good day and have something special planned to celebrate.
Here's a birthday flower  and a toast to a year of happiness and good health.

Hear is to all us 59-ers and Happy Birthday @Carriemay60 . Your sense of humour is superb. Let me know how you are getting on re the big “60”..... I think I am in denial about my impending 60!

Re the physio. A really good distraction technique is to ask for a good massage to relieve the tight muscles and get away with no clams, bridges or other evil ways of trashing your hip. Worked for me ;-)

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! :loveshwr:

Although still pretty sore, I had a really wonderful day. My son took me over to the mall for a spring clothes shopping spree. I told him how lucky I felt feeling like they stocked the racks with exactly what I had in mind. He replied "that's because you want everything"! Lickily he knows better than to tell his dad just how successful I was :heehee:

Out for Korean Bbq grill last night which was fun and delicious. I got home exhausted and JUST got out of bed at 1pm.
I'm a good bit less sore today but not completely over that physio. Should be back to where I started by tomorrow and definitely won't be letting that happen again!:hissy:
