Bilateral THR Grateful Double Hippy

Same here @Alfie888 .
Currently it is a 75F day, and I'm trying to decide if me and my hips want to pick up pecans.
They are yummy and fetching a good penny this year, but still feels like itmight feel like work later.
Layla, you can barge in whenever you like.

@Mojo333 you were asking about chiropractors. I found that treatment just too aggressive for my back. What worked for me was an osteopath. They do similar adjustments but they are very slow and gentle - not bone cracking. He also did acupuncture after each session. Really helped after my first THR.

@Jaycey.. Maybe that is what I'm looking for. Thank you.
Doubt insurance will pay for acupuncture but willing to forfeit a few dinners out or whatever to accommodate the possibility.

@Mojo333 My chiropractor sat down with X-rays and showed me the problems in my spine before touching me.
So if he or she wants to just go for it. RUN. Also most have these tables with rollers in them that are absolutely wonderful. The rollers go up and down as they go over the back. Totally relaxing. I've thought about buying one.

Sounds great. I had a teeter hang up...inversion table.
It felt great until all the blood runs to your head too long.
Can you believe when I said I'm sore that is no longer an option, my OS said, it's fine...you can use that now.
Um NO. Hook my legs in, turn over and pull on my hip sockets....I don't think so.
Maybe it wouldn't hurt, but common sense tells me....bad idea!

I looked at one of those tables a while ago. I never committed to buying one though. They do make sense, stretching your spine our. Probably not such a good idea till your hip is well and truly settled in though.

You need a little cordless vacuum cleaned for those pecans so you don’t have to bend over. It’s great being able to collect your own. They don’t grow in this part of the world.

Hated Pecan Pie till I was adult. Stupid...because I never tried it!
Thought it was the grossest looking dessert I'd ever seen.
Now it's my Thanksgiving fave! As MAG would say "Gimme"

I love pecan pie but couldn't eat it until prilosec came out. I'll have some with a scoop of ice cream please?
Sorry to hear you are having lower back pain.

I used an inversion table before surgery @Mojo333 and also found it wonderful. It is currently sitting in my basement and I keep looking at it, but like you have visions of hip going somewhere and me being stuck in basement upside down with no help! (the cats would just look at me and walk on by)

Thanksgiving and reflection.
I am not the same.
My arthritic hips are gone - replaced with titanium and ceramic. My chronic pain is gone.
My journey has led me through the shock and trauma of an extensive surgery, up and down on a recovery road that included fears, tears, victorious moments, and new friends with similar struggles.
Discovery has been the theme. Finding my limitations, finding my patience, finding that I am stronger than I imagined.
Thanks to all here on this forum for giving back through your stories and encouragement.
Thanks for this life reviving surgery.

I don’t know I just assumed an inversion table was out of the question after THR. Scary stuff. But I didn’t like them befor.
Happy Thanksgiving

You too @Gone again . Both my children will be other places so I have lunch plans for a fried bologna sandwich and boiled peanuts.
I know you Yankees are making faces about now, but don't knock it until you've tried it.

And NO WAY am I hanging by my wonderful new hip sockets!!
Will have you on my mind...tick tick...double hippy time.

@Mojo333, I do boiled peanuts in a pressure cooker. 30 minutes under pressure and then let it cool until the pressure releases. Perfect every time.

@Clipper Thanks for the tip. We usually make huge batches in fish cooker and freeze some for all winter.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving--getting ready to start a traditional dinner. Don't much care for the boiled peanuts, but fried bologna is good stuff!
