TKR From 30 - 90 rom and wanting more

I would love to hear from more people that have limited rom . Mine is at 90 . I am told this is the hand I am dealt live with . I want to get past my anger and frustration having trouble doing so . I do try to change my focus to what is better . Truth is not sure what is I never had the lack of confidence in walking I did after this operation .

My guess is I have about 115--I don't know if you'd consider that limited. But for me it is an improvement on what I had pre-op. I'd hoped for more, but given my many years of limited rom I'm taking what I can get.
I wish you had a better outcome. But I still think you might get a few more degrees. I know I improved a couple of degrees between 5-6 months. And I do know what bend I got became "easier" over the course of the first year.

I took the swabs if my wound to my GP tonight , to send to Lab for culture .
I also found the site to rate my surgeon others as well . I took the step and rated i him . I was not dishonest tried to only stick to the true facts . I feel bad but since he dumped me I feel it is time for me to turn the page . Get on with healing . I took the survey for my second opinion dr and PT too. I am going to work on doing better. I see the cardiologist for first time on Thursday .
Then if all goes well I travel to Pittsburgh to see our grand babies .

Yes, I feel like I can do everything I need to--if it wasn't for the other knee.

Finally Miss gloom and doom a.k.a as me has a positive post . Today for the first time since 1977 I was able to pedal the exercise bike full rotation backwards and front wards . I am so surprised . I am giving props to @saltyal for telling me to walk up steps backwards . After doing that today I immediately went to bike and got the surprise of my life . I am so thrilled and in disbelief . I am thanking God for this . I had so many rough times through this surgery . I am not giving credit to the surgeon that no longer is my Dr. I have not been to PT since before Thanksgiving Nov. 2013. I do have the seat almost raised to ceiling level but it works :) Going up steps backwards really is easy for me too . Forgot to give credit to @miss crinkle wood For telling me about the Tumeric for inflammation . It helped .thanks to the information on this forum . I have learned so much from it . I was not told many things prior to my operation . I am very grateful to everyone that has given me encouragement .

:yahoo:.... isn't it amazing how these little victories make us feel so much better? ..... getting those first few forward revolutions on my exerbike almost made me cry with joy!
Cheers, Al

Glad to read you are making progress, it has been a long slog for you. Good luck at the cardiologist, and that you are cleared to see your Grandbabies.

Thanks @Pumpkln you have been such a help to me too . Yes, cardiologist was very positive . I am not worrying about that anymore like I had been . I spent Last Thursday - Sunday in Pittsburgh with the grand babies the 7 month old and six year old . I know being with them for days and not just a few hours helped perk me up also .

Here is a revision surgeon for you to check out:

broken link removed: https://www.upmc.com/services/orthopaedics/experts/pages/joint-replacement-experts.aspx
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

You may be able to find other possible surgeons using our BoneSmart Clinic Locator (link at the top of the page).

Thanks @Jamie
I am kicking myself and crying as the Dr. Under him I went to twice.
He said he would do my surgery .
I stupidly went back to local ortho and had him do the operation .
This just adds to my regrets. The if only , questioning why I made the wrong decision .

Don't beat yourself up, hon. The important thing is to focus on how to make things better. Getting to another doctor is the first step. We're with you!!!

Thank you so very much .

The floodgates opened . I was such a strong person before this surgery .
When I say it broke me it has .

I wanted so much to be the success story .

Just remember, your story is not over yet......there are more chapters to be written. So please do NOT give up hope!!!

Truth is I regret having the surgery . I am still in constant pain . Something is wrong with me . Most everyone says they are glad they did it and their lives moved on . I am stuck in painville , on agony street .
I have tried to do better . Painted on the smile .
I could not even try to start a job . I am a mess .

Sorry to hear you are having such pain. Have you started looking for revisionists in your area to consult with. They are best to sort things out.
Good luck!

I agree. Please don't let yourself become so despondent that you no longer try to find someone to help you. Sometimes it takes a while to connect with the right doctor, but you must keep looking.

@Pumpkln
I have started looking into it but have not made calls or followed through .
@Jamie you are right I will have to straighten up.
I am trying to make the call to the revisionist you gave me info on . Still having a hard time with the fact that I had an ortho for over 5 years that he could cut me up like this and then dump me when I need help .
It seems most everyone else has great recovery stories and move on . Here I am just stuck .
My GP is not helpful she gave me the lecture that I should not have expectations and to never complain.
