It is something to watch. But, I have to say....if it's scaring you, then go have it looked at by your surgeon or to the ER. There is no sense in worrying needlessly.
 
Thanks Jamie. I will watch it getting ready to ice now . I go to my new ortho Friday . I might call my GP Monday she may look at it for me . This may sound like a flimsy excuse but truth is local ER makes us wait four hours to be seen . That is the hospital that surgeon crippled me , then some years later they put me in An phyletic shock during a test with IVP dye. I refuse to give them a third go at me . Especially with this leg .

That works too. Just don't let it worry you without getting it checked. We want HAPPY THOUGHTS on your mind!!!! :)
 
How about a photo? Preferably both a close-up and a middle distance one so I can see where it is in proximity to the scar.
 
It is possible that this was a "stitch abscess." This can form around an absorbable buried stitch. I would recommend to have your OS look at this. If you were my patient, I would want to know about it so I could look at it.

Orthodoc Yes it most likely is a stitch abscess as it was at a spot that looked like the internal stitches my body had rejected . The Dr that operated his nurse never would let me see dr when I initially had the problem . PT told me to call that day redness hot pus this was sometime ago . Nurse Mandy just said some patients bodies spit the stitches out . I truly quit that Dr after over 5 years because of nurse Mandy and their lack of after care following this surgery . I see new ortho Friday Jan. 10th . Perhaps I can call his office in morning and report this concern . Thank you so very much . I have pictures tried yesterday to post . I always tried to post in the scar page too. Not able to . I will have get my daughter in law to help me .

Dr said no sign of infection took x rays examined site . Said first dr has not released me , I thought he had in order for me to see new dr . Feel dumb . New dr said dr has not released me so I have to call them concerning pain . I am sick of pain pills anyways . But still have major pain . New dr did slip in the dr may want to do manipulation . That will not be happening . I am sure about that . I am not giving dr that operated on me another go at me . I feel he had his chance . Yes, I am disguised . Rom is 90 . I have to see cardio soon for something the pre op tests detected. Enlarged aorta .
 
Glad to hear there is no infection. Can you try your GP again for pain medications?
Frustrating to hear you are in this situation between doctors.

Pumpkin it is all right I really do not feel well . So taking pain pills would not agree with my stomach at this time . I am tiring of Drs and appointments . That being said I am fighting the urge to take something for muscle spasms . They are getting to me .

Wonderful , found out today I am without an ortho . The surgeon that operated on me is miffed because I went to new dr. Called dr mccellans University Orthopedics Altoona, Pa office today and was told since I sought new dr I voluntarily left them . After being on hold numerous times . New dr had stated I had to stick with operating dr until he released me . Confused . Upset . With a discharge from the incision sight is there any wonder I regret this surgery so ? There is a hole there started out as a blister it popped blood came out now white discharge again . This happened in oct but there was not a sizable hole like today .
 
You are in a pickle. I would call primary if they cannot see you, go to urgent care, or go to ER to have it checked out.
Sorry to hear you are having such problems with the OS's offices.
Take a photo and post it here if you can, so one of the moderators can see what you have.

@ Pumkin I tried for hours to post my pictures on here last time this happened. I failed . The profile pic OS from my face book profile . No idea how I even got that to post . I know I had it sideways and administration fixed that . I called primary left message still waiting for them to call back . hope she will see me tomorrow she is out Friday . I will call them again and see what they say .
 
@Pjmc We had some problems with our photo upload system, so that is probably why you had difficulty posting a picture. So, if you can....please try it again. If you are uploading a photo from your personal files, you'll need to use a photo copy site like www.tinypic.com.

I agree that you need to get someone looking at your knee. Either go to your GP or the ER to have it checked out. And you also need to demand that your surgeon release you so that you can be seen if need be by the second doctor. He must do that for you, although you might have to show up at the office to get it done. What a horrible situation!!! Please let us know how things go.
 
The photo Problem is with me more than likely not having a knowledge of technology . I am trying to get in to see GP hope today .
The surgeons I equate to a poor salesperson . Made the sale sealed the deal and then little to no follow through . He saw me once at 4 weeks post op .and barely glanced at knee . From about ten feet away . His office staff is horrid . My husband even said the worst run office on the east coast . My husband rarely complains .
Yesterday when I called to be seen first person said I will try to get you in today . They called back and this next person said they had talked to dr and since I went to other dr for second option they were done with me . I told them the other dr had not taken my case and said to stay with their office . No, they said . I told them new dr said they had not released me . They said they didn't need to since I made the choice to see another dr. I feel like they were very ridiculous. Told them I was confused and said I was now without an orthopedic . She said did I want to speak with nurse Mandy . No ! Mandy was the nurse that caused most of my frustration . When I had a problem she would get on phone give her ten cents , not listen to what I was telling her . For instance first time I had deal with her . PT told me to call leg was red hot swollen and pus oozing out . She did nothing . I saw my GP that night she put me on antibiotics .
 
I hope you can get into your GP today!
Please go to urgent care, or ER if you cannot see GP!
 
Thanks Pumpkin. I did get to see GP . She said to watch it gave me swabs to get a sample of discharge next time it comes out . She will send it to a lab. She said to try new dr tell him surgeon released me . I was annoyed with her too . She gave me an off the wall sermon about not to have expectations and to not be reporting people if they do not do what I think they should . Gee , if people are to be professionals and they treat me poorly I will continue to report them . Fast food workers get complaints . I feel those in the medical field need to be held accountable too . Not sure why she came at me with that lecture . Odd. I did tell her I was tired of everyone thinking I should have no pain . And I am not a fan of Tylenol . Oh well . It does look better it is just a little blood or clear fluid on bad aid .
 
Glad it is clear fluid, keep our fingers crossed that it turns out to be nothing.
Sorry you are being treated so poorly by your health care team.
You may want to rate your Dr's on sites that allow you to rate the offices.
Hope you start to feel better soon.
 
Wanted to add when I went to new ortho I was overtly cautious and took extra effort not to bad mouth surgeon . I knew better than be negative with one dr about another . Still wondering what caused my GP to give me the sermon .
 
I can not find a site to rate my ortho . I found one for testimonials . I do not want to give a testimony . It was really the staff ,one nurse that they always put on phone that did not listen to my concerns . Although I do feel surgeon could have informed me better as he had been my ortho for so long . I think he gave me unrealistic expectations . I never knew going in that 90 rom would be what he would say is success .
