The more I look at the doctors report the more I see I noticed the lateral release , I addition to everything else. I am still walking stiff leg which is not what I want to be doing . I feel like I must make poor choices of surgeon . Something just does not seem right . Two month mark still taking pain pills , have no quality of life . I have never been a quiter, or had this victim mentality until this. Sugary . I can not even shave my leg hurts to touch the skin . I feel so defeated . I hate this !

I do have a question for all that had robotic surgery . Were you also told less scaring less invasive ? I am asking because my scar is crazy long . Surgeon said I would not have that with robotic . Much of what he said seems to have been part of the sale . Not true after . I was also told six weeks of discomfort prior . That was a Bold faced Lie !

Today at PT my rom was 90 on my own . First time 105 with therapist working knee . OS said success would be 90 for me . I talked to PT we are going to continue going to therapy twice a week . I still have the tight oversized knee feeling , cannot wait for it to feel like it is my knee.

Two months out, 90 degrees sounds good, have patience you will gain more with additional healing.
The tight rubber band feeling, it will go away with time.
Sorry to read you have such a hard time with your OS, wishing you continued healing.

Angry , angry. Went to OS office today to see about refills . They really do not want bothered with me nor do I want to deal with them . I was pleasant . They said they would call me about it even though I was standing there at front desk .

Learned today at PT. It is not. T.en.s. They are using it is a NMES. Ppr . For the quadricep snip . I have trouble there .

What else can I do for swelling ? Ice , elevate has to be more I can do .

No, I was never told how long the scar would be. The robotic procedure was to insure a tight straight fit is what I was told.

Icing and elevating, and what type of over the counter pain meds can you take since your doctor won't prescribe pain meds?

Do you have a GP? I would give him a ring, and explain the situation, and maybe he would prescribe some pain medicine for you! :console2:

RestAssured Thanks , I am able to take any over the counter meds . I have GP she prescribed the antibiotics when OS would not see me when I called them about it . My GP office is not very efficiently run . I have been icing elevating sems like there must be more I could be doing . The fluid , swelling is making me nuts , keeps me from shaving it hurts o touch my skin. Plus my leg needs shaved looks like an overgrown lawn . Lol

They have a cocktail recipe in the library. Look for it and I will tag Josephine, and Jamie, for further help on this. I can't remember the name of the cocktail, but scroll through the library and you should be able to find it! :)

pjmic. My Dr told me to what they call is milk your leg. start at the top of leg and push your skin upward do this till you reach your knee cap. it does help. my husband had to do this with his arm and it took the swelling down there too. You can give it a try

Well, I had Lymphedema done also. You start out by finding the lymph nodes in the groin. Press in on them 4-5 times and then start from the foot all the way to the groin lightly brushing, as if you were using a paint brush. Your lymph nodes are right under the skin, so a light brushing with your hand will do. Hope this helps! It worked tremendously for me!

Thanks skigirl, I was trying to find the articles last night but I fell asleep!

I also used lymphatic massage---there is someone here who does it. She also used a "wrap" which was cotton and foam and looked really hokey---but, It really worked. I wore it at night and you could see the swelling diminish. Try to find a lymphatic massage person--I got mine from the yellow pages, she was a great help with swelling.

So not sure but think I was able to break up some scar tissue . Heard a pop while peddling . Felt it too . Slight pain , but have had pain since the a.m.

Rough night I keep taking meds for pain . Nothing is helping afraid to take too much . I have to wake in the morning for PT . I am at the end of my rope with this constant pain and muscle spasms . Any suggestions on how to make this pain stop would be greatly appreciated.

It does seem like the pain will never stop--and then, it does! For now, try something different---did you try the Bonesmart cocktail? Or call the GP and tell they you want something like Tramadol for the pain. it is a mild synthetic narcotic and most docs proscibe it without question for post op pain. I got 50 of them at a time. they help with the pain and you will feel less desperate if the pain backs off a little.

Be careful in pt---you should not leave in more pain than when you went there---if so, tell them you need to back off a little.

Same old song and dance pain can not sleep . This has been since Sunday night . I did make an appointment with GP . Truly can not stand the pain .
