Glad you're better, FlaGranny. Rest, ice, elevate...I'm right there with you.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling a bit better and listening to that new knee.

That's good that you are feeling better, each knee is on its own schedule so don't try to rush this recovery to keep up with how your other knee healed.

It sounds like you're getting along really well. Wonderful that your first new knee is behaving!

Thinking of you. Hoping today is good .

Good morning 1 week out from #2. Home PT gal came today. She was great. Of course I told her about my hospital experience. She told me just to do heel slides, leg presses, and nothing else - just to the point of discomfort. She did do a few assisted heel slides and they were much more comfortable than using my own muscles alone to do them. She said not to push anything to the point of pain. So, I am happy with her. She was very nice and has 3 dogs so we talked out our dogs. She will be a welcome interruption to my week until I can get out and about.

Having a lot of trouble sleeping because I wake up with pain in my right hip and both thighs, especially if my legs are straight. I did sleep 6 hours last night, the best night so far. I'm thinking of sleeping in my recliner tonight. I'm the most comfortable there. We'll see. I'm still using my cane in the house. Stopped using the walker as soon as I could put a little weight on my new knee, mostly because it is such a problem maneuvering it in my small house. Still can't lift my leg under my own power.

Pray that Matthew stays out to sea.

Yes, I am praying that Matthew stays away from all of the world!

Praying right now about Matthew.

I'm so thankful you are posting your progress -- I'm getting nervous about next week. It's good to know a little of what to expect for knee 2.

Sleep wherever you can find comfort. Home PT sounds good and I hope you sleep well tonight. :chillpill:

Slow and steady does it. Those early days of sleeping were pretty intense, but this too shall pass. Hope the storm veers away.

Good to hear from you Flagranny. Sounds like you are making good progress . Hope sleep at night comes really soon I remember how long sleepless nights are.

@sheliac Please don't take my 2nd experience as what your 2nd experience will be. Mine was worse, but your's might be better. The main point is that my 1st knee at 6 weeks of age was able to take over and be my good knee. Now I'm wishing my life away and wishing it were 2 or 3 months down the road.

Your PT gal sounds very good. My home guy was like that, pretty mellow. Glad you are progressing, but sorry about the sleep issues. Yes, also hoping Matthew takes a hike and leaves us alone

Keep feeling better, and dont overdo.

Maybe different or more pain meds would help you? My OS added a muscle relaxant to my pain cocktail and it really helped. Hope you can get some relief.

It will be 2-3 months before we know it. Your progress sounds inspiring to me! Everyone has warned me the second won't be as easy as the first-- I think I'm prepared. It's really good to know your toddler knee can pick up the slack for the baby. :)

The ot sounds great! And wonderful, that you are able to move around a bit with just a cane. That first knee must have healed very well indeed

I'm not sure where you are in Florida? I'm saying prayers the hurricane does not come to you. I can't imagine the added stress of that right now.

Thank you. I am in central Palm Beach County and they're putting the track closer and closer to us. We're supposed to get hurricane winds. Storm just getting stronger and closer all the time. Afraid we'll have to evacuate. I'm not doing too bad. I doubt there will be much sleeping tonight with worry AND pain. Just praying that we will have a home left on Friday.

Evacuating at this point would not be fun for you. Hoping the track changes...
