TKR FC Bayern's House of Healing

Nice to follow what’s happening with you! I hope you can continue to improve! Much luck!

I think I figured out what happened during the night last night. I woke up laying on my left side with a pillow between my legs and my right (op side) leg on top and I realized my left leg was bent, but my right was pretty straight and my lower leg was basically hanging in space with my knee as the fulcrum. If I had slept long that way I'm sure my knee wouldn't have been unhappy. I don't think it's walking in the sand as the couple of days before my issue were spent with more time in the hammock than walking the beach. :heehee:

Nice retirement you have there!

This will help you today, to recoup from a bad sleep position.

Meanwhile, back on the east coast, we have a weather advisory and this is what’s coming : :xmas-snowball-fight-smiley-emoticon: I will “enjoy” it through the window! (Is it Spring yet?:praying: )

We are forecast to get ice and then snow on top. Even us old TKR patients have to be careful walking on that. I think it's best if we all stay inside. No need to take chances.

Joe, I know exactly what you are talking about. Leaving the lower leg dangling can be really painful.

@FCBayern Oof yes Having a knee/leg dangling while sleeping sure could bring on the ouch! More time in the hammock may be needed :heehee:

Meanwhile in Oregon snow is predicted for the weekend - and Portlanders go bananas at the thought of snow in the city --- the Snowmaggedon thread has been started already and there are no flakes showing.

Well happy 3 year kneeversary to me! :egypdance: My knee continues to be a rock star allowing me to do just about anything I want to pain free. In fact I recently added a new challenging activity, fishing in fairly rough seas. If you've ever spent time on a rolling deck, especially moving around, you know it uses every muscle and joint from the waist down to maintain balance. I've added that to hiking, scuba diving, and long walks on the beach. The recovery is long and tough, but the outcome is life changing. If you are still in recovery know that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel.

How remarkable you are doing! You are the poster child of a knee replacement's success story!

Great report! Happy anniversary. :yes!:

Happy Three-year Knee-versary, indeed!!

Congratulations always good to hear success stories.

Bless you!

A day boat fishing trip was one of my last pre-surgery events in August and, boy, did I pay for it. Otoh, I caught a lot of nice sized croakers, a blue and a trout.
long walks on the beach.
:rotfl:

Today makes 5 years on the amazing new knee that gave me my life back. It's been a while since I've had time to post but I had to take a minute to celebrate this day. I'm now the proud owner of a 12 year old STAR ankle, a 5 year old knee, and a 4 year old hip. My friends call me bionic, I call life great. I'm more active at 64 than I was at 44 and I don't see myself changing that any time soon. Here's to new joints!

Something for the rest of us to look forward to, thanks for the update!

@FCBayern Thank you for stopping by to share your ongoing success!!!!
