I was not on BoneSmart with my TKR, so I learned about PT the hard way. Here's a few things to watch for:
1. Watch hands, don't let anyone push, pull, stretch your knee or leg with their hands.
2. It's too early for massage. It'll feel great at 3 months.
3. No squats, they told me to do 10, I did 1 and yelled over, "that's not happening again". Squats are just too hard on your new knee and traumatized muscles/tissue.
4. Don't let them put heat on your knee as it will increase swelling. My first group put heat in my knee to work on extension. It wasn't necessary and although the heat felt good, it wasn't good for me knee.
