THR Early Birthday

The home nurse came for her last visit today. I guess I graduated. No more warfarin, start aspirin Wednesday. Finished by antibiotics now, so all I'm taking is iron/vitamin supplement and pain killers. Less pills means happier insides!

Sleeping 1 1/2 - 2 hours at a time. Sometimes it's bathroom need, sometimes it's discomfort (I had an operation, you know). Either way, I move from the chair to the bed or vice versa and usually get back to sleep easily enough.

DEXA scan Wednesday, then OS follow up Friday. Hopefully I'll be cleared for exciting activities such as driving and bathing. Actually, I drove to the post office today and didn't die or anything, so there's that.

Still planning to take things nice and easy, but I'd like to be able to grocery shop (normally my job) and little things like that.

I'm probably forgetting something, but I wanted to check in while my internet is working!

You are doing really well. I actually had my first soak in the tub today ... heaven. :bath: I hate showers but tubs are very deep here so difficult to get in and out, but hubby was there to help. It is amazing the simple things that become chores, even hazards.

Happy Three Week Anniversary!
I hope today finds you comfy and happy  :)
Wishing you all the best with your scan tomorrow and visit with the OS on Friday.
I'll bet you get released to drive :driver:
Have a good one, billy!

All Good!:egypdance:
Hope you are staying upbeat...Lots of Improvement to Come!:thumb:

Today was a little too busy for my liking. PT followed immediately by bone scan. I didn't really want to do either, but a nice cuppa (and a pill) restored the proverbial stiff upper lip, and by the time of got to PT I was my usual annoyingly enthusiastic self.

PT was okay; dropped sone movements, added others. Did step-ups with the bad leg, which was surprisingly easy. (Aerobic step, about half the height of a real step.) Used the cane to get around instead of the walker, and both therapists agreed that I do better with the cane than with the walker. Get tired faster, too, though.

Bone scan was nothing, basically an x Ray with fancier gear. Technician said it didn't really look like osteoporosis, but nothing is official until a radiologist comes down from Mount Olympus to pass judgement. We'll find out at the OS follow up Friday. As Grandpa used to say, don't cry over spilled milk until the horse comes home to roost.

The increased activity has me slightly sore, usually tired, and hungry. Still better than last week, so I'll take it.

Overall it sounds like you had a good but tiring day. Nothing better than food, ice and rest.....in the order of your choice! It's more tiring to the body when you first switch over to the cane. Usually by late afternoon I had to drag the walker back out so it could drag my tired bones around. Your cane stamina will improve more every day that you use it, no "horsing" around!

Busy day, billy.
I can see why you're tired. Hopefully after you eat something
you can chill in your favorite spot with your friend > :ice:
:fingersx: Fingers crossed you sleep like a baby tonight
Peace out
