THR Double hippy happy<

:yahoo:Wonderful update Sarah.
And getting some restorative sleep too!
I am so glad that all is going well and you will be back to your life with no hip pain before we know it.
Hope your day is sweet!

Thanks mojo, I'm still napping during the day as well. No OA pain is great.
I may need to crack the whip, house looks like a bomb site again.....don't get me started on the kitchen.....

Have an easy day mojo

Aah..give the boys a break.
Does your chair face the kitchen?:heehee:

Yes it does
They're off school and college so they can do some housework and know how tough it is. Also teaches them to look after themselves, yes, I'm a wicked witch hehehe

Just had a call off the hospital, my request to be referred to the district nurse was approved. She's coming tomorrow to remove the dreaded staples....ouch. Only 18 this time, much less than the last one, think that was 40+....

You're doing great, Sarah.
I'm happy to hear it. It's wonderful that your knee is no longer bothering you.
You're lucky to be getting all that restorative sleep so effortlessly. It's so good for you right now.
A great rest of the week to you!
Thanks for updating. Stay in touch.
@SarahUK

Everyone here is jealous of me being able to sleep through anything.
Knee is a lot better, flexion is returning day by day.

Have a great day Layla!

Today is 2 weeks hipversary! Waiting on the nurse to arrive to remove these dreaded staples.
I accidentally bent my knee a bit too far and boy did my quads let me know.
Still have some slight swelling on the outside thigh, the rest has gone

House looks a bit better from what I can see .

Have a great day all!!

Kitchen must be tidy!
Let the unstapling commence!
Hope today is a Good Day!:) :-) (:

Staples are out!! Wound looks clean and dry, just one small spot that I'm going to keep an eye on. Dressing is off, though she said I can put one on if it starts getting irritated by clothing.
The worst bit now is the itching off adhesive from the dressing.....

Pic of scar minus staples [Bonesmart.org] Double hippy happy<
The bit near middle is what I need keep an eye on.

Looking good.:)
Yes, middle looks a little gappy.
I had a place near top of one's of mine that looked a little less tight and the scar is slightly wider there but all closed up well.
Stay well!

Nurse thinks it looks ok. Taking it easy til that bit closes properly. Last thing I want or need is it splitting.
More reason to do as little as possible hehehe.

:elevate:. Pretty sure this little fellow is keeping his eye on the kitchen!:heehee:

Definitely mojo...kitchen looks good at least
Upstairs is a different matter....haven't been up yet and don't really want to...

Yay for staples out!!!
It looks good. I see the spot in the middle that you mentioned.
Did the nurse recommend you keep that covered until that spot is completely closed? Keep the nasty germs away.

You're doing great, Sarah. It's so nice to see you in recovery with both surgeries now behind you.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
@SarahUK

She said only to cover it if clothing irritated it, other than that she's happy to leave it off.
Though knowing me, I'm probably going to put the dressing on anyway just to be safe. Until it's fully closed, I'm not even going to attempt having a shower.

Have a great day Layla!

Dressing is going on, started weeping a bit and I'm not keen on peeling my skirt off of it later on lol.
Just my luck to have a bit that didn't close properly ...

I think that's wise, I'd do the same, Sarah.
I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I'll bet it closes very soon. :fingersx:

I've got a step-granddaughter (17) coming to stay for August to attend summer ballet school here, as she has done the last two years. As I am fully engaged in the Rest Cure, I made it clear that I am off-duty for August, and she would have to take full control of her own life, from getting up on time in the morning to making her own breakfast, clean up, doing her own laundry, and getting out the door on time for her classes, etc. The den-mother-cleaning-lady-cook is down for the month. It could be a good learning experience for her. I'm just a bit concerned about her penchant for dropping everything on the floor. We have tackled this issue previous years with limited success, but I hope I can hammer it home this time. When she sees my crutches, will she finally get it?
