THR Double hippy happy<

I know I've done this before but the sudden tingles and nerve twitches still catch me off guard hehe
Just had a few minutes of throbbing right on the scar.

After reading that article, I've decided not to use the naproxen and instead stick with ice..thanks mojo. Not a fan of nsaids anyway. I was hoping for something different off doc to be honest.

To top it off, the itching is back...noo!!

Have a good evening/afternoon all!!

Another good night of sleep, woke up at 07:30, that for me is a lie in.
Lads have been hard at work doing the laundry and cleaning up the house.
I'm being well looked after by all of them.

Pain levels are decreasing daily, energy drain hasn't hit me yet, mainly because I'm doing so little. My activity comprises of going the loo and doing a small lap of the living room.

Hope today is a good day all you healing hipsters!!

Sarah, the sleeping queen. Very lucky you are.
Laps around the living room and trips to the loo about all you need to be doing right now.
Boredom will kick in soon I'm sure, but thankfully this isn't your first rodeo and you understand your limitations. It's great to hear you're doing so well!
Wishing you a peaceful Thursday!
@SarahUK

Glad all is going well..:tada:

Hi all, first bad night last night. Cramp hit me in my foot and oh my stars did it hurt. Luckily it was the right side...
Pain on both sides now, great...Thigh on left is really complaining every time I stand or sit, oh well, only temporary and only a week out so it's to be expected.
May have a nap or 2 later on.

Have a good day all!!

Aww, Sarah, I'm sorry you're struggling. You've been doing so well.
I can't imagine getting one of those foot cramps early into recovery.
Imaganing it was that type that wakes you from a dead sleep and catapults you out of bed?
Only getting out of bed quickly, or doing anything quickly, is nearly impossible at this point.
I hope your pain eases soon and you're able to sneak in a few good naps soon.
Hugs
@SarahUK

I yelped loud enough to get hubby downstairs quick. Definitely the kind that catapults you out of bed.
Once he realised what was happening, I got a long foot rub to ease the cramp.
Everything is so much slower, doing anything quickly isn't going to happen for quite a while.
Although not as slow as the last recovery, that was bad enough.

The dreaded stockings are off, albeit temporarily. They need washing. I only got given one pair so any excuse to take them off for a while is a good one.
I have a suspicion that most of the pain is from the swelling in my thigh, truth be told, I'd rather have a swollen foot/ankle than a thigh that looks like a tree trunk lol.
Need to phone district nurse to come do a wound check and dressing change today. From what I can see, all looks good.

Hope everyone is healing well.
Have a good day!!

Ooh...one of the things I can't imagine ...bad foot cramp after Hip surgery.
Eat a banana or three...can't have that going on.

Good job I love bananas then mojo :)

Pain is ok except for the thigh, still hurts like mad and pulls when I lower the foot rest on the recliner. Once this eases I'll be happy. Knee is still stiff and sore. Still doing absolutely nothing except go the loo and do a lap of living room.

Have a good weekend all!!

Hi @SarahUK
You know what a difference a week can make in this recovery biz.
Hopefully this is your last unpleasant weekend.
Wishing you comfort and a peaceful Saturday!

We all know all too well what a difference a week makes.
Once the soreness and pulling abate, I'll be rocking the rest of it
A few more days of discomfort is worth it, ice is my best friend and will be for weeks yet.

Have a great day Layla!

Hey all, had a wander into the kitchen, promptly turned around and hobbled out. It looks like a chef had a bad day in it, absolute mess. Naturally, I went ballistic. Everyone came running thinking I'd done myself an injury only to find me glaring at the kitchen and asking why it was in that state. Soon got put to rights

Knee is still stiff but ever so slowly easing, swelling is more or less the same. Pain is well managed now after another call to the doc and telling them that I can't take naproxen because of the procedure I had done, he thought I was pretty clued up. That's after I told the doc who prescribed it that I couldn't take it. It's now sitting on my desk unopened hehe.

10 days out and doing ok. Thigh still pulls getting up and sitting down but doing gentle stretches before I get up helps a lot.

Hope you all have a great day!!

You're funny, Sarah. Thinking back, my messy kitchen is what bothered me most also in the early days of recovery. Hubs doesn't know how to close cabinet doors so they were always open. He doesn't know how to throw used containers in the trash, or wash dishes, lol. I wasn't lucky enough to still have my kids at home like you. I started crying on the phone with my mom one day. Part Post Op Blues, part my filthy kitchen. She and my sister came to the rescue and made my day!

Thanks for the updates. I enjoy reading how your recovery is coming along. You're doing great!
I hope you have a peaceful evening.
@SarahUK

I'm thinking everyone jinxed me..knee never bothered me...either side.
Now I have it wrapped in compression bandage ...don't know what I did.
Hope all keeps getting better. My double hippy friend:SUNsmile:

Just been woken from a lovely sleep by the smell of steak cooking.
Mojo sorry about the knee, hope it resolves soon.
Layla, my lot thought that the wicked witch had appeared lol. They know how to clean up and do dishes so there was no excuse. Promised me now that the kitchen will stay clean and tidy.

:loll:When mama ain't happy
Nobody's happy

@SarahUK - just found your thread. What a journey you've had! Glad to see things are going along as expected this time. I'm 2 days ahead of you...

I feel your pain on the kitchen!!

@Mojo333 when this momma ain't happy, the house knows it.

@Bchbum4evr the kitchen is my domain and I don't like anyone messing it up. This recovery is definitely going better than the last one.
When I get chance, I'll drop by your thread

Update time.

Knee no longer hurts, only pain is at the top of my leg in the crease and top of thigh where stem was hammered in, other than that I'm doing ok. Still only doing laps of the living room.
Still sleeping like a baby every night, get woken at 7am by my 15yr old going out to do his paper round.

Hope everyone is healing well!!
Have a good day all...
