THR Double hippy happy<

Hi @SarahUK
Aww, poor little guy. I'll bet that did hurt....removing that hidden stitch. Thankfully it's over.
I hope with some rest your back and hip pain ease so you're able to enjoy the weekend.
Hugs and best wishes!

Maybe some heat on that lower back and bad hip?
Uneventful can be Good.
Hope your weekend is wonderful also...

Hi @SarahUK
How is your world?
Hope your son is on the mend.
I'm gearing up for a working Weekend..:nah:Biggest food drive off the year and a ten hour day on Saturday so will be resting out hips in a big way.
Hope all is well with you and your brood.

Hi Mojo, Yeah, all is well here. Hoping to go for a long walk next week. Also hoping to get back in the saddle and go riding for the first time since surgery :)
My lad is healing nicely, has a lovely scar to show for it. [Bonesmart.org] Double hippy happy< [Bonesmart.org] Double hippy happy< [Bonesmart.org] Double hippy happy< A few pics of his impressive wound and healing.

All in all, everyone is doing well, the brood is happy and so is the mother hen :D

That was one nasty chunk out of his arm.
It has healed nicely..
I have a few impressive childhood scars my mother still stories about.
One that I managed to split open twice requiring trips back to the doctor in which she swears they were close to eyeing her for child abuse.
So good to hear you are all well.

Oh, Sarah! That poor boy....that looks very painful! Thankfully it's healing nicely.

I hope you're not in too much pain waiting on that other hip surgery. It's great to hear you're
in good spirits and able to go for long walks and jump back into the saddle.
It's wonderful you're more excited to get it over with, than worrying about the surgery.
Hopefully if I have to have my other done I'll be like you :fingersx: have my doubts though :heehee:

A great weekend to you and that house full of testosterone!
@SarahUK

Hi Layla, painkillers and ice keep that hip comfortable. I refuse to let it rule my life, I do what I want, how I want.
I'm slightly nervous about getting back in the saddle as I know it's going to feel totally different to how I used to ride.

I'm excited about it because I know once it's done, I'm going to be pain free and able to enjoy myself more.

He has healed nicely, when I took him the doctors he sat there and watched as they cleaned and stitched it.
Just one very tiny part that's refusing to close properly, I think because he keeps knocking it.
That was the worst injury, he bruised his hip, knee and ankle as well.

The sun is shining so I might spend the day in the garden and possibly sort the shed out.

Have a great weekend all!!

Hi all, Just got back from a great 4 days away in Wales. Managed to tick off one of my to do items on my post op list, went riding for an hour. Felt so good to be back in the saddle. Did lots of walking, right hip handled everything I threw at it, the left of course played up.
Have a hospital appointment on the 5th for yet another blood test.... [Bonesmart.org] Double hippy happy<

Have a great weekend all!!

Hi Sarah!
Thanks for sharing the nice photo. I'm happy to hear you're still able to knock things off
your bucket list. Sorry your hip is acting up. Our bum hips can sure throw a monkey wrench into activity.
It was nice to hear from you. Stay in touch and enjoy the weekend!
@SarahUK

That is splendid, Sarah!:yahoo:
Look at you!:horseriding:

So glad you posted.
Isn't life grand again? I think so!
You stay safe...no falling!!!:no-fin:

Being able to do the things I want is fantastic even if one hip plays silly devils. Even managed a short trot as well so I'm very happy, kids loved it too.
As long as I take my time and don't try and rush anything, I'm sure I can do just about anything I put my mind to.
Of course, hubby was rather apprehensive of me going riding but once he saw me mount up I think he finally understood that I'm not letting one bad hip stop me enjoying myself.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
I've completed another 4.5 mile hike today, weather was too good to stay inside.
Also had yet more bloods taken at hospital today along with MRSA swabs as they'd expired :/
Hopefully nothing wrong with this lot of bloods so I'm now waiting for a date unless anything untoward happens.

Have a great week all!

I'm totally inspired by seeing you in the saddle!
Way to go!

:praying: for blood work.
So glad you popped in @SarahUK .

Happy you are active and happy.:loveshwr:

Happy, active and trying not to over do things. Weather is way too nice to stay inside so I've been out in the garden, mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges. Still have plenty to do to keep me busy :)

Right side gave me a niggly warning the other day, slight pain near the trochanter....eased up on doing too much.

Hoping nothing wrong with blood work and I get a date soon for the left.

Hope everyone is happy and healing well!!

Right side gave me a niggly warning the other day, slight pain near the trochanter....eased up on doing too much.

That happens to me periodically, and that's how I resolve it.
Trial and error and attention to ones own body works well, don't you think?
Have a wonderful day:loveshwr:

You're able to stay pretty active with the left bum hip. I wasn't as fortunate.
I hope your bloodwork is all good and you're able to schedule surgery soon.
With all you're doing now....you will be Unstopable Sarah post surgery.
Hope you have a great rest of the week!
@SarahUK

So Sarah....quick question about your signature. Was your RTHR actually on August 2, 2017?

Hi Layla, my original surgery was July 29th but I had 3 surgeries due to 2 dislocations. The end result of those 3 surgeries was a locking ring on the joint. Technically, you could say the surgery was August 2nd as that was the final one I had.
I'm just happy that they finally got it right and I'm now getting on with my life 50% pain free.

Though I can see where the confusion lies in regards to the dates :)

Thanks for clarifying, Sarah!
Hopefully the 50% pain free grows to 100% very, very soon.
Hugs to you.
