THR Double hippy happy<

The worst bit is, I've just got over a cold and now another slaps me in the face @Layla. Nap, no chance, not with 4 lads to organise for tomorrow. Taking 2 of them the dentist, eugh, buses...my hips don't like them at all.
Hip and ankle are doing a lot better, I can move the ankle more or less properly now without that horrible pain :)

Trying to diffuse a fight between 2 of my lads, turned to tell em off when it happened. Got loads of sympathy off them though and it stopped the fight!! @MammaT

Floodgates opened again last night, partly due to my toe and grief, felt better afterwards so it helps.

Oh the boys fighting-mine were like bear cubs sometimes. They say when I did decide I had enough, i was a bit scary! But they would stop.

Hi @SarahUK
It's difficult when you get in a cycle like that with colds. Second one hitting before you've had time
to build up your resistance and WHACK here comes another :swoon:

Busses do seem to jostle one around, I agree it probably wouldn't feel great on the hips.

Hahaha! You got loads of sympathy from your boys, you may need to start feigning injury, Sarah.
Stop them in their tracks :heehee:

Let those floodgates open when need be :bawl: a good old cry works wonders once in awhile!
A great evening to you!!

I've been told that when I'm mad, I'm pretty scary. I won't back down and I quite often finish what they've started.
My lot don't like a scary mummy, they like it when I'm happy and smiley.

Depends on the driver, if he knows the road, he'll do his best to avoid potholes etc. Hips are aching just thinking about it :/
A good ice session will be in order when I get in tomorrow :)
Trust me, I'm milking this for all it's worth, making the lads aware that I still can't do everything. I probably can but...shhh, don't let them know :D

Here's the deal...we'll get the boys behaving like little angels...
Just follow these instructions:
Monday
Tuesday :boohoo:
Wednesday :bawl:
Thursday :dead: < This one will really get them

I think by Thursday they'll be like this >

Friday should be a piece of cake!!!

I remember when my two were small, 3 and 7, we began a 7 hour road trip to attend my grandmother's funeral, and they started the squabbling not even fifteen minutes into the trip. At the first rest stop, I took all the luggage out of the trunk and formed a wall between them and spouted loving maternal instructions to the effect of "never look or talk to each other again"
Not being able to see one another drove them bananas.
They still remember it:heehee:
Don't think I was up for Mother of the Year.

I remember yelling at mine to shut the heck up or we're going home, 10 minutes into a drive to a holiday cottage. They got the hint when daddy turned the car round and started heading home, they were so apologetic and crying as they wanted to go on holiday. We eventually got there with very subdued lads in the back.

I'm going to spend an hour with my ice pack and recliner soon, both hips are complaining, left more so. They hate buses. Ankle is ever so slightly sore but not bad considering the amount of walking I had to do today. Still waiting on CT results, Mrs Impatient is what I am.

This cold is getting worse so a good excuse to go to bed pretty early tonight. Headache returned with a vengeance, throat hurts like mad, coughing all the time and I can't stop sneezing!!

It sounds like Sarah needs a long, cozy, warm winter's nap
Try some hot tea with honey and lemon. Or, even hot water with honey and lemon
It should soothe that raging sore throat.:mcoffee: I sure hope you feel better soon!
Keep in touch with the CT results....if you care to share.
Hugs to you @SarahUK

Once I have the results, I'd be glad to share :)

Honey and lemon work a treat, along with salt water. All these medicated strepsils don't work with me, seem to make it worse.
A nap is a good idea but unfortunately, if I sleep during the day, I don't sleep at night. An early night should be fine though.
Hugs to you @Layla

I am just getting over two weeks of cold. Cough, and blow nose...made more. So aggravating.
Slugged down piles of Orange juice and slathered up with Mentholatum at night so I could breathe. Wasn't getting any help from cold medicine.
Hope you feel better today.

Hope you got a good rest in @SarahUK. Ultimately it seems to be the best thing for the cold. I agree a lot of the medicines do very little, although I too am a fan of mentholatum on chest. Could just be because I remember my grandma putting Vick’s vapor rub on my chest as a kid and the memory is part of the comfort, along with being able to breathe.

My mum swore by Vicks vapor rub, I use it on my lot and on myself. Works wonders. She used to melt a tablespoon full in a bowl of hot water, sit me at the table and drape a towel over my head and bowl and let me breathe in the vapour.
I got an early night last night, head hit the pillow and I was out like a light, knew nothing til the alarm went off at 5:30 this morning. Did a quick ankle inspection when I got up, bruise is a bit better, really taking it's sweet time in going. Hip is doing good, still have muscle pain at the top and around the side. Hubby said this morning that I rolled over onto the op side, might explain the soreness a bit - I don't remember doing that.

We always had Vicks in the house as kids too, Sarah. I used to like to rub a
teeny tiny bit right by nostrils < hate that word (nostrils) and I don't even know why :heehee: it's dumb sounding
ANYWAY...I'd rub a tiny bit when my nose felt stuffed and it made me feel like I could breathe easier.

My mom used to do that towel over the head biz with some cauldron of hot water and Swiss Kriss Laxative,
Yep, you heard right. There she'd be with the white cotton dish towel over her head with the green Swiss Kriss flakes floating around in the steamy bowl of water.....some kind of facial  No wonder why I'm a loon!

Sounds like you had a good night! Since you're already well into your day waaaay over yonder, I hope it's great!!
Hugs
@SarahUK

Hey @SarahUK
Where are you? Did those 4 lads tie you up and are now having their way in that home of yours?
Missing your wit and the bruise report. Hope you're feeling well and haven't caught that nasty flu.
Thinking of you....

Hope you are just busy with real life:heehee:.
Hope your week is wonderful!

Life did indeed get busy, my calendar is marked with appointments from now until doomsday!!
Ironically, they aren't for me:)

Bruise has gone!! Got a patch of dead skin waiting to be gently buffed off. My ankle looks normal at last, swelling has gone completely except for a small patch near my toes.

The best bit is, I'm walking without the crutch. I still have the tiniest of limps but that is improving daily. The crutch comes with me if I go long distance.
Still haven't got my CT results yet so might need phone them and find out what's going on.

As for the flu, I haven't had it but my other half has and he was miserable for a few days.

Hope you all have a good day :)

Updated pic of my heel :) No pain, can flex it easily, soo happy that it's finally resolved more or less :) [Bonesmart.org] Double hippy happy<
