Don't think so. He has calls into 3 drs, the gi doc , his primary, and his allergy doc, that he sees for idiopathic urticaria. He has a scheduled appointment with Wednesday. So we shall see. He has iced it, but it did not help. He has an epipen to use if needed for a certain injection he gets, but missed the appt for it while in the hospital. He doesn't want to use it till he hears back from one of the docs

Well free loaner ice machine not gonna cut it. it works, sorta, but keeps shutting off and never really gets cold, and its very noisy. Oh well, worth a try. I just ordered the Breg, from dme-direct.com

I should have it by the end of this week, to play with it, get used to it and all that jazz.

17 days to go.. Monday is my dr appt, and pre admissions stuff, with anesthesia..

When your ice machine comes if you have any questions trying to use it let me know. I've pretty much figured out the best way to get icing for the entire night.

Have whatever questions you have to bring with you to your visit on Monday. I'm sure it will all go ok.

I hope your husband is feeling better by now and has heard back from his docs.

Hubby will be fine...if you try to back out, I will drive to Orlando and drag you in myself...By the way where do you live, lol

You are not going to back out more you know this is the best thing for you!!!

No no no not backing out, just sometimes think the universe is trying to mess with me

Btw I live in Hunters Creek, know it? :-) , my house is right near the massive shopping area called The Loop :-)

Diane when we are about to take such a big step it's normal to think that we are seeing signs, when they took me to the OR and they stuck me 6 times (unsuccessfully) trying to find a way to give me a block, what do you think was going through my mind, that wasn't a sign, that was a 3D billboard flashing in front of me,lol

I remember a lot of things coming up prior to my surgery too...made me think, should I postpone? But in the end ,I just went through with it and am so glad I did. I realized that I would be in a much better place physically myself in a couple of months and therefore in a much better place to be helpful to those who need me. These last few weeks of waiting are very difficult. So much time to think about what " might happen." I encourage you to focus on how much better your life will be. I just said to my husband today that I have absolutely no pain when I stand up now. I had tremendous pain trying to stand prior to surgery. I can remember sitting in my living room chair dreading the thought of getting up - it hurt so bad. Now....PAINFREE. You will get there too!

itting in my living room chair dreading the thought of getting up

thats ME in every chair, and how I have to get up from a seat in a restaurant is downright embarassing. You are such an amazing inspiration to me @Diane LTKR I hope I do as well.

Thanks for reminding me why I am doing this. Now if I can just stay sane these last 2 weeks..

Diane, tell the universe to quit messing with you! You need this surgery so you can enjoy the rest of your life!

@dianehelen
You might want to come watch how I get up in restaurants! Especially booths, which hubby likes and I hate! I just might have you rolling on the floor laughing! (Because you would understand. Everyone else just rudely stares at me.)

@birdwatchr I totally get it, and when you finally do get up you have to wait a minute to get the engine going :hairpulling: we just have to stop caring what strangers think, laugh at ourselves and go on our merry way!!!

I kind of found if I exaggerate that I can't walk well, I can get a table! Works sometimes.
