Diane's Knee Quest finally the real deal

@uva55
Part of it is that it's not just the knee. My groin really hurts bad getting up, especially from booths. I've been told I need to be checked for hip problems, but right now I don't even want to know.

I know it should not, but stuff like this bothers me

So I got an email last night from a friend I don't hear from often. I wrote back about my upcoming tkr and this is her response: (do I tell her my plan or just thank her for her well wishes)

I would go with option #2. As a friend of mine would say, "just smile and nod your head..." I hate hearing stuff like that, too. We're all different and will have different recoveries.

Don’t slack on the rehab. My Mom thought swimming would be an alternate to therapy and ended up having lots of scar tissue build up and caused a lot of pain.
Well, they obviously never knew about the conflict between over-activity and adhesions! Over activity makes the tissue hot and heated tissues have a tendency to stick together (adhesions). quod erat demonstrandum!!
Maybe bit his lip in his sleep?
That was my first thought also. But it's unlikely to be anything actually infectious, most likely a mild allergy.

Two Weeks from today.. stuff is getting real now...

its amazing the "what ifs" that can be conjured up in my mind...

What if you are no longer in pain, what if you can have a much better quality of life...you know it will be so much better in the long run, even when I have a bad day now I know it's temporary... Focus on the positive.

The discomfort I fee now is nothing like the pain I had for years, even my back feels better since my surgery.

Just think in just a few weeks how much better you will be:)

Clara is so right! Once you have that surgery your pain will start to decrease as you heal. Now, all it can do is just get worse. You are doing the right thing!

I love you guys... @uva55 I just love your attitude and outlook...

you too @sistersinhim you are right about the pain decreasing instead of increasing

I know its the right thing, and I know it will be good , eventually.. I guess its just the normal fears and trepidation of surgery, and anesthesia, and all that... ughhh and having sooo much time on my hands ahead of time is starting to feel like torture....

Shoot, remember how freaked out I was before my surgery? I was even thinking of cancelling because everything seemed to be going against it. But, you guys settled me down and talked me through it. And I'm so glad you did! Even with all my ups and downs I know it'll be worth it and that the worst is behind me. A month from now, you'll be feeling the same way! You have tons of people behind you!

@sistersinhim I think a great business venture would be "coma healthcare" Where you are put into a coma for x number of months, for something like a knee replacement, or as I have said in other areas, for weight loss. Just be put in a coma, and wake up FIXED :)

But then that darn reality sets in and I know thats probably not possible..... OR is it? hehehe:dubious:

Hey, great idea. Why don't you patent it?! I know more than a few on this site would jump at the opportunity to be put 'out' for about 6 months and then wake up perfect! I'll be first in line!

If I had the resources and the ability to pursue it, I would . I have thought about it for years. Originally as an alternative to dieting, for weight loss, but in theory it works for sooo many things. Maybe that will be the future of surgery huh? ;)
