TKR Christine's Post Op Recovery

Hope you are doing better. It can be a long hard road and Rocky. I haven't decided if it was worth it yet. Sometimes yes sometimes no. I was in the 10-15% for pain. There is nothing wrong with taking it easy. I do it all the time :rofsign:now that I have someone to clean I am more relaxed. I do what I can and the rest can wait. It all takes time. Hope you are feeling better today. :hi:

I don't know if I'll ever say it was worth it and I sure as heck won't be getting the other one done any time soon. It's my husband's turn to have his problems dealt with now. He needs his knee scoped and a possible hip replacement. We could be the bionic couple!

Glad to hear you are more relaxed @Pescara. Take it easy. I worked two days in a row Thursday and Friday and it wasn't too bad stamina wise. The pain in my knee is horrible when I've been sitting for a while so I need to try to get up more often. I have an app on my watch that taps me on the wrist every hour to remind me to get up but I think I need to get up more often than that. The plan next week is to do a full 5 days from 10 am to 5 pm. I really have to do it. My work is really piling up and I do not want to become overwhelmed by it. We shall see how I get on.

It's yucky and rainy today so I'm staying in the basement doing laundry and playing with my action figures. Yes I am 55 years old and I play with dolls. Very expensive dolls though!!

I don't have to tell you what my clunking finally led to for me. If I hadn't kept at my OS he would have had me in pain for a year more. I sincerely hope things are not the same for you. My clunking and pain only got worst, until it was a regular every step occurrence. After the revision I am so much happier.

Sorry about you Jays.

At least they did better than the Expos.

(groan)
(OK, OK, I'll get my coat ...)

Good luck with five days a week! Neat program for your watch. Can you adjust it to prompt you more frequently? A while ago, I heard about something on the computer that will ring a meditation bell at different, random intervals to get your attention. That might be nice, too.

I love the image of The Bionic Couple. You should work up a treatment and do a presentation to the CBC. Action heroes are all the rage, and the over 50 crowd needs more programming now that the BBC's New Tricks has been canceled. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have your own action figure?

Please take care of yourself this weekend. You are brave going back to work 5 days a week. Our house was divided between me for the Jays and hubby for Chicago. It made it more fun and with a bet for the Jays for Chinese take out for me and Pizza for him LOL. I finally get my dinner tonight. Yummy yummy.:happydance:

@SarahJane we do have action figures of ourselves! Paul's family had them made for us. I get to be skinny and wear heels!

Where did you get those, I'd love to have some made for my family.

It's a web site called be a doll. We had no idea they were doing it for us. Our nephew said he was taking photos of family for a school project and he needed portrait and profile photos. They sent the photos to the web site and the dolls were made from regular doll bodies and clay heads. They are very cool.

I was an idiot today. I worked all day, sat at my desk with my knee bent and was in horrible pain every time I stood up. At about 4:45 I realized that I hadn't taken any pain meds at all since last night. Won't do that again.

Yikes! Please take better care of yourself !!!!!

It's nice not to think about the knee for a while, BUT if it means terrible pain when you get up, then please make it a priority to move more often! I've had that same problem! Gotta' keep moving!!!

Love your dolls! They are adorable!!

Earlier in my recovery my husband would call me every 4hours to take my meds. I would fall asleep and forget to take them and when I forgot I paid for it. Cleaning was yesterday and Thanks to your suggestion my house sparkles. I'm healing pretty well but another 6weeks and I should be almost back to my old self but they will still come every 2 weeks.

I am thinking about hiring a little help with the housecleaning too. I envy you your sparkling house!
