First maintenance therapy done and dusted. 3 hours in the cancer centre having an infusion of Rituximab. Rest and recuperation now, and of course chocolate.

Weak and wilting but OK and I hear I'm on dinner duty tonight....Dh has much planting to be done in the vegetable garden and the car to be taken into the garage.

@Dabber
I am glad your "maintenance Therapy" is done & dusted :console2:I hope you rest & keep
Your strength up. Did you say you weren't going to Paris ? I hope you recover to do everything
You want to:)
Are you putting Ketchup & salad dressing in your hair ?:rotfl:
Good Night,
Diana:sleep:

Thank you @kneeper @pumpkin

@new knee in June Yes, first one done, thankfully, another milestone, 11 more to go. We've decided not to go to Paris this time but we're going in July so not too long to wait and plenty of time to plan.
Not so sure about salad dressing now the day has come! What colour is your hair today :heehee:

3 days to my 1 year post op appointment. I haven't been knee centred these past 9 months.

Hope you are feeling better. Glad you postponed your Paris trip, you will be there before you know it.

Oh @Dabber I hope all goes okay tomorrow with your consultant. :flwrysmile:I'm going to read your thread through now x x x x thank you for the advice for my daughters sil. It's so much appreciated. Xxxx

Hi Sue. How did things go with your lovely consultant Tomas. Hope things went well. You've had so much going on I'm sure your knee hasn't been your priority but all the same it would be good to have some good news. Take care. Sending you hugs. And I still hope we get to have that coffee one day.

A year ago today I was heading towards the hospital for my TKR.

What a year it's been, 5-6 weeks of big pain diminishing fairly suddenly, mobility improving at first daily, then weekly, then very gradually, sidetracked briefly into pacemaker fitting 2 1/2 months after TKR, then almost derailed at 3 1/2 months with my Follicular Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma diagnosis.

2 days ago I was discharged by my orthopaedic consultant. I'm enormously grateful for the care I received before, during and after treatment.

Memories are icing and elevating, gentle physiotherapy, tramadol, being helped into and out of the shower, reading during those long wakeful nights, our son's graduation off tramadol but on crutches, sticks 2 then 1 then none!

Now walking free from the arthritis pain for the first time in many years.

My knee didn't like chemotherapy, does anyone/anything but I've had a very good response and have now finished my regime and am onto Maintenance Therapy of Rituximab every 2 months for 2 years, hopefully to maintain partial remission.

Very tired all the time but gradually increasing what I do.

Eternally grateful for the daily help from my husband for a whole year, he is my rock, and I'm.....

"Getting so much better all the time."

Hi Sue @Dabber
What a wonderful report. I hope the coming year will be very quiet and uneventful for you!
You are an inspiration coping so amazingly with everything life has thrown at you in this last year.
Take care,
Hugs, Toothfairy x

Sue,
Wonderful report, an amazing story and recovery.
Thank you right back for all the support you have given members on the forum, even when you were going through difficult times.

I love your report. You gave so much this year and helped so many people without knowing it. A bit HUG for you. I'm looking forward to hearing all about Paris. Keep well. Take care. Tashia

Annual Lymphoma conference in Leeds, speak soon:walking:

Annual Lymphoma conference in Leeds,

Great one year report Sue. You had no control over what's happened to you in the last year, but you did have achoice as to how you dealt with it. You have been awesome. I know you are not totally through the woods yet, but it looks like it will start to get a whole lot easier. I wish you well from the bottom of my heart. xx Carol

@patient 99 Thanks!
Carol, you have been a wonderful support to so many of us and kept us amused at the same time. :loll:

We're back from Leeds and we had a wonderful time. I set off in my compression hose but it got itchy, I seem to have a little reaction to the lacy elasicated top, however, I digress....the knee was really good, did me proud and I actually forgot about it a lot of the time. I managed to enjoy a tipple :cheers2:even!! There was a lot of walking, I did rest every day for a couple of hours or more but was so pleased to manage.

Of course now I'm home so is the knee and it's back to being a troublesome one year old. However I know I can manage both with my knee and out and about with my disease.:wowspring::wowspring::wowspring:

Sue xx

I know.

we had a wonderful time

Oh Sue, it delights me to hear you say this. You have brought a tear to my eye. I've got this theory. Increasingly I think that when our brains are fully occupied we don't think TKR. Its when we are stuck indoors that things get on top of us. Morale of the story - Go Out As Often as You Can. :wowspring::wowspring::wowspring:and :wowspring:

ps: never mind all the fun, did you learn anything at the conference?
