Sue, Sorry I haven't posted for awhile but I have been thinking about you, and of course, I had to get in and play with these new emoticons. I love the spiders the grandchildren left for you:spider:

The CT scan revealed 2 things so far.....I appear to have partial remission from Lymphoma, so that's what I was expecting but not what I was hoping for, glass half full/half empty type of event.
I have a dilated appendix so will have a referral on to another department.
I'm OK for starting maintenance therapy on 19th May, hoping I can get in a steriod injection for my painful shoulder, wondering whether they will decide to remove the appendix.
:hiking: This is me leaving the country!!!

My TKR knee is now warm and swollen, oh dear. I have been doing nothing, have not been released from house arrest yet, although I'm making a bid for freedom next week as I just can't miss our son's Gang Show. Crewe Gang Show, everyone knows Crewe.....don't they?
:unsure::what::chinstroke:

Hi Sue, partial remission. Do you know what this means in terms of getting a bit more of a normal life? For starters will you be able to go out? Carol

Hi Carol @patient 99, I was told on the phone, yes I can go out, but will have reduced immunity. I'll have bloods done on 9th and see the consultant on 12th so should know more then and will have a list of questions as long as your arm.
Last night I felt quite down with the old knee, well the new knee :loll:, it was swollen and hurt......as soon as I do anything it goes like this and feels heavy, clunky and like a wooden cube, I know the BS mantra but I've taken the don't do much to the extreme with this chemo treatment so I'll try doing a little more now.
I still have so little energy, rolled into bed at 10.30pm and slept for 12 hours. It's hard to explain the tiredness and having absolutely no reserves of energy to tap into.
Knowing I have a swollen appendix has made it twinge :heehee:
Oh honestly, you couldn't make this up, it's just ridiculous!! I went from being relatively healthy apart from needing the TKR to a muddle of ill-health!
I'm thinking of you in May with your scalp too.
Bugs,
Sue :loveshwr:still playing with emoticons!

Last night I felt quite down with the old knee,

Hi Sue, I know this might sound daft, but for quite some while your knee has had to take a back seat. The fact that you are now thinking about it again, even thinking of exercise could be positive.

You are right to say they couldn't make this up. Did somebody forget that all this stuff should be shared round. Dabs when you find out who is responsible I will be right there with you to sock it to him good and proper.

My appointment to have the skin cancer removed is on 21 May and the reconstruction on 23 May. Then everybody better switch off their BS connection because I will be moaning on a grand scale - can't wash my hair, look a mess, fed up, hate the medical profession, hate everybody including myself. Get the drift:heehee:

This mind over matter concept intrigues me. You mentioned now that you know you have an enlarged appendix it now twinges. Well I have an appointment to see my OS on 16 May about my knee. And you know what, it hasn't been too bad these last few days. Now what's that all about? I wonder if I thought one of the options was for the OS to chop my leg off, that overnight I would have absolutely no pain when I walk .

On a brighter note. Diana has given me the winning numbers for tonight's lottery. :wow::yahoo::fingersx:

Well I saw the GP today who was somewhat amazed at what the last year has thrown my way. She thought my knee looked just fine, neat scar, walking well, just give it time and do the exercises. I'd looked up the BS ones by chance this morning and I shall use those now I have a little more energy.

Have an urgent referral now regarding appendix. You have to keep smiling! :heehee::rotfl::rofsign:

Hi Sue,
Saw you clicked friendly on an old post about a friend with breast cancer. During that time period, four of my friends were going through the same thing, they are all healed and healthy, I am thrilled to report!
I wish for you the same outcome.
Glad your knee got a good report, and your lymphoma is in partial remission.
Hope your appendix is OK,

Thank you, I'm reading slowly through your thread.

If I get the go ahead from the consultant on 12th after bloods on 9th, I'll have a steroid injection in my shoulder before my maintenance therapy starts on 19th. That should be relief from one pain. The appendix could be an appendix being itself or swollen lymph nodes within it, they'd may do another scan.

I must say I've met with such kindness from all the medical profession.

Your steroid shot helps your shoulder:) What's next ? Oh, Yes...your Appendix. I hope it's
Nothing Serious & will calm down.
Thinking of you:friends:Praying your body is getting healthier everyday:angel:
Rock On,

Thanks, @patient 99 @pumpkin @new knee in June
I'm going to make a *long* list of questions for the consultant/s. Appendix has been swollen for at least 6 months, but it was difficult to see amongst all the other swollen glands.I'm starting to get anxious about the 12th now :sos:

My follow-up appointment with my haematology consultant was today. Very good partial response to 6 months of chemo, which is as good as it gets with my lymphoma, so.....
Crack open the champagne :martini:
Book a holiday
and :chillpill:
Sue xx

Hi Sue, I am soooooooooooooooooooo pleased. Appendix? Does this mean you will be able to go out more often? If so, that will be a tonic in itself. xx Carol

Good news!

Today I had a steroid injection for my arthritic shoulder, then zzzzz  I still need to sleep a lot. I see a surgeon on Thursday about the silly appendix.
All being well, we're off to Paris for a few days about a week after my first Rituximab infusion which is on 19th, it's all go!
The going out advice has relaxed a bit, I will still have reduced immunity and must avoid crowds, sick grandchildren and SWIMMING!! I cannot go swimming. Ds is feeling lucky as we'd bought a year's leisure contract for a hotel pool and now he wants to snaffle all our tokens!:swim:

I'll stop by your thread later @patient 99 I have read it

I have very low immunity and I think always will have because it's the lymph glands/lymphatic system that are affected and the white blood cells are the cancerous little beasties instead of tough little warriors. When you think of pools, all those germs everywhere, verrucas being a minor one, colds and viruses and bacteria in a steamy atmosphere; a one degree rise in temp with an infection means hospital and an IV drip.

I put on weight with the steroids (chemo) and really need to lose it again, I lost 1/2 stone after TKR and felt better for it, now I've put a lot on and it's affecting my knees, but I can't walk far as yet.

Anyway, we're going to see our eldest grandson in a concert tomorrow, then I'm back in cancer care for my first infusion of maintenance therapy on Monday.

:swoon:
