OK no trip today, just too darned tired.

Great update Sue. You never mentioned your swollen appendix. Hopefully that's now OK. I am messaging less now. I've a theory that when that happens things are starting to improve. This was never the outcome I hoped for, but you know more than most, that you get what you get and you just have to make the best of it.

Just keep getting better. xx Carol

I'm being monitored with the appendix, a CT scan soon. They won't remove it as they normally would unless it's absolutely necessary because I have low immunity and there's a risk of infection.
I rested my leg for 12 hours and put the compression hose on today and it's much better. :yes!::yes!::yes!:

Hi @Dabber I hadn't heard from you I a while so I thought I'd pop in and see how you're doing. I'm glad you've been checked over and being monitored.

It was lovely to read that you had enjoyed Paris and I am glad that you did it. I've never been xxxx my daughters sil with the non Hodgkin's is still undergoing chemotherapy, she is being very positive about it. My daughter takes her to all the appointments. It's so many days a week for the next three weeks. The. She'll be scanned to check the progress. Fingers crossed for the girl xxxx

Take care Sue

Love Ann xxxx

I'm starting my OU course soon on heart disease and cancer, they don't do one on arthritis or I could go for the hat trick

I would have thought you would have needed some medical background before you could do this? Apart from general interest, do you think increasing your knowledge of cancer will help you to manage it better? It certainly works that way for me. I want to know the ins and outs of a cat's bottom :heehee: .

@Nana moon 27 Ann, thank you so much for popping in and yes I do wish her all the best. I'll message you. It was lovely to get away, I couldn't do much but it was just so special and wonderful after 2 years with all the health problems.

@patient 99 Carol, it's my 3rd OU course, it's just one module....1/4 of a first year undergraduate course and I got a good A Level in Biology and a distinction in my Cert Ed for Biological Science around the middle of the last century  It doesn't really matter if I pass or fail but yes, like you the more I know the better I am, not sure about cat's bottoms, sound very tricky, nearly as tricky as our black hen's bottom where there's been a problem! :rofsign:I had some money carried over from when I had to withdraw from a course to have my TKR and a bit more got me this course so I can keep transitional funding in case I want to do something else next year.
My books arrived today and they look very good, I might change my mind later :heehee: Most level 1 courses assume you know nothing or very little about the subject.

Just catching up on some TV....The Mill.

Love Sue xx

Knee, well, it's not totally settled, it still gets a little bit hurty and swollen, the scar is looking neat and pale. My legs ache and ache, the whole legs and I get dizzy.....it doesn't appear to be lymphoma related, I will book to see the GP and I see the cardiologist the week after next.....@patient 99 you see I'm never in, so no good as a best friend anyway :rofsign:
Tomorrow is my 3rd infusion so I'll be sleepy after my meds and I'm going to a support course in a hotel after, although I'm pretty buoyant as ever, it'll be nice to meet a few people also sailing in my boat.:kayak:

Just a little update. I had a pacemaker interrogation, abnormalities were picked up so a consultant from another clinic kindly fitted me in as there wasn't a consultant for mine, it was a technician clinic. He's of the opinion I have SVT, so there we go, a heart scan in the pipeline and beta-blockers on prescription.
Long live the NHS!!
:heehee:

Nice to hear from you @Dabber although it seems you're still having medical problems. Good job you're one tough lady. Hope things get sorted soon. How's the TKR leg going. Any better

@robynhood and @new knee in June Thank you for stopping by my thread.:welome:

The answer is I really have no idea about my knee, it can sometimes feel sensitive to touch and it still feels like a Cheshire Oak quite often. As with many of us I have osteoarthritis elsewhere including the other knee and both legs just ache and ache as soon as I try to walk any appreciable distance, the operated one can swell and be by far the worst, but....although a lot of people say they have joint and leg aches with lymphoma and chemo, I'm told by my MDT the disease and chemo shouldn't have had that effect. I was told yesterday my heart problems could cause some of it, so I'm left not knowing what's what at all.
I'm going to see the GP for the Beta-blockers and ask her opinion and perhaps just get better pain relief.
I'd almost be cooking on gas if it wasn't for the leg aches, not quite, as I still get very tired, but less so than I was when on chemo and each month brings further improvement.
My infusion gives me a week or so of downtime, but it's only once every 8 weeks.
Tomorrow we're going to the Palace.....our 4th attempt so wish us luck actually getting there. I'd also like to see the poppies at the Tower, but maybe that will be another day.
Just the TKR would have been enough, the latest problems are going a little too far.

Sue. :good-bad:

Sorry to hear how hard this latest diagnosis is on you, chronic health problems are hard to deal with and accept, I agree a TKR is plenty to experience. I hope your heart problems will be easy to manage.

Reading your post got me thinking, your TKR problems may have nothing to do with your other health conditions, perhaps you should seek and OS who does revisions for a second opinion about your knee.
Sending you postive thoughts and prayers,

Chris @pumpkin Thank you for your kind words, your input has been immeasurable, probably more than you could ever realise.......I was lumping symptoms together, my haematology nurse quashed some of my theories, but you have opened up realities that I can work with.
Thank you. :idea::idea::idea:

Thank you Carol @patient 99 predictably no, we didn't, but we're going tomorrow. We've got disabled access that apparently is through the front door, oh my, waving, must iron best frock and dust off the hat! Also booked a later entrance time.
I saw the GP and updated a few things, just need to go back about pain (leg aches). I hate to think how much I've cost the NHS over the past 2 years!
Doesn't it feel Autumny today. Spain will be marvellous, a bit of sun again. xx

Hi @Dabber

I've just been reading through your recent posts. Inflamed appendix and now heart trouble. You've been through such a lot. You've had a rough year, you really have, I'm sending you a virtual hug :friends::flwrysmile:

I had my revision done a fortnight ago and it feels good already. It feels different, completely different. I've post pics on my thread today of the scar and lack of swelling. Although I joined the ODIC tonight and it's come up a bit, I'm elevating and icing as we speak xxx

Don't worry too much about NHS costs. Others don't seem to these days. You and your husband, like myself and others here, will have paid more than your fair share of contributions and covered it over the years xxx

You're so right it does feel very Autumnal now. There's a proper chill in the air. It's bitter cold we've had the central heating on.

Hi @patient 99 it's nice to see you around again xxx

Looking forward to reading more of your posts. Take care
All my love and best wishes
Love Ann xxx

Hi @Nana moon 27 Thank you.:friends:
Not the ODIC, ooops! Stay in the warm tomorrow and take it easy.
I'm between scans....had a contrast CT scan today for appendix and lymphoma and tomorrow an Echocardiogram. I'm really hoping they don't find anything major. I also hope they tell me there and then as with the CT scan it goes away for interpretation and I won't hear until my haemplan meeting with the consultant on 27th. We call this scanxiety!
I saw the GP about several things including my knee and I'm having a referral back for more physio. I'll update tomorrow or later but basically the knee can hurt, is rather swollen and my legs ache so the idea is to strengthen the quads....I think, and I'm back on pain meds.
Now to bed with a hot water bottle, I just have such cold extremities since the weather turned and I started beta blockers. I was shivering in the hospital today with fingers of pure white in my cotton gown and coat. I forgot my dressing gown because we had to go into the cancer unit for something so Dh drove home for it, bless.

Hi @Dabber I'm sorry you're suffering scanxiety (I like that term) and I honestly wish you good luck with your ECG tomorrow.

Which opera are you going to see?

Love Nana moon 27 xoxox

Hi @Nana moon 27 we're going to see Carmen....lovely, so looking forward to it!
I had my heart scan and it was fine, nothing untoward jumped out but the pictures go off for further analysis. All the pre-scan worries and really they're like falling off a log. Someone once described their first exerience of childbirth like that....I couldn't agree at the time!
