Yes, it was very helpful and I met up with some people I'd only met previously on-line.

I think I need to get out more now :loll:It's a lovely feeling to be able to at last!!

Hi @Dabber I just read all your thread...you are amazing x that's what you are x :wow: I'm glad everything is going okay. My daughters sil had her first lot of intensive chemo for her Non-Hodgkin's-lymphoma last week. She said the lump under her chin feels different kind of squishy or mushy now x she is finding it hard as she feels wiped out but my daughter is supporting her. It is this young lady's daughters Holy Communion tomorrow. My daughter and granddaughter are going there early to get both the mom and the daughter ready for the occasion.

Catch up with you soon

Hi, I've been somewhat out of the loop but am doing fine. My knee seems to be realising it's not the only new kid on the block and is behaving.
We're going here tomorrow:

It is lovely and not too far to drive.

The lake looks beautiful, enjoy!

Hi @Dabber Lake Vyrnwy is an amazing place to visit. I've been there quite a number of times. Not too far from there is Powys Castle. That's is a fantastic place too. I'm coming up to Wales to my caravan late Saturday evening. I hope the weathers ok. Take care. Love Nana moon 27 xxx

We had a lovely time in Paris, really good; we did different things from all the other times we've been as I couldn't go out walking round galleries for hours or out for whole days. It was good.....however....knee/leg :gaah:It's OKish if I wear my compression hose otherwise it's painful and swollen and the whole leg was rather swollen anyway in the heat.
I don't know whether it's TKR related or lymphoma related as that was the leg that swelled up so much prior to treatment. So I don't know whether to ring my knee consultant or my cancer specialist nurse, see the GP for better pain management or ask whether it's lymphoedema.....actually it helps to write it down as I think it's all things combined and I should ring my CSN.
I think my TKR was good but all the rest of the problems that came it's way during recovery has turned it into a very sensitive joint.
@Josephine please can you offer any advice, my knee feels as if it fills up with fluid.

Hi Sue,
Good to hear from you, glad you had a good time in Paris. Sorry to hear you knee is only OKish with a compression stocking, and is a very sensitive joint.
Wishing you all the best, and hope you find some answers,

Sue, I'm sorry but the complexity of your medical history means it would be both impossible and unwise for me to attempt to offer suggestions.

@pumpkin, thank you. It's good to read everyone's threads and messages again. I'm mostly involved with lymphoma websites and discussions now.
I think I'll have to discuss everything with my MDT although my knee seems to fall outside everyone's experience. It could be scar tissue in the lymph gland...maybe.

Hi Sue, haven't spoken for a while. Just read your latest message and wanted to catch up. I see you are still reliant on your compression hose - me too. But the good news is that you made it to Paris. No small accomplishment. I've just had a mini break, and I have to say whilst I enjoyed it, I found it very tiring.

Are you getting out and about more these days? Has life returned to anything resembling normal? Carol

@patient 99 Hi Carol.
I'm doing OK, pushing the boundaries really. I don't go out by myself but we're trying to do more and more, gradually. Everything comes at a price....it took 2-3 days to recover from the journey to Paris and it's the same now with the return journey. I was wearing the compression hose most days, they are full length, tres glam! I'm going to be measured for a new pair next week, hopefully not so tight.
I have to consider what I do very carefully so as not to overdo it, but I'm not going to sit back and be ill. I've registered for an OU course and I'm going to restart language classes.
A belated Happy Birthday. I was just reading your thread and looking up proprioception. I'm going to ask about more physio. We walked a bit in Paris a little more each day as my muscles have become very weak and I hope to continue with that.
There's not a lot of old normality it's the "new normal" now, I'm OK though. We have loads of fruit and veg in the garden so am enjoying the jokes @new knee in June hoping to see you tomorrow, we're coming to the Palace. Not sure how I'll manage but it was the last date we could go after cancelling last year's visit.
