Hi Sue, happy for you that Chemo 7 is done and thinking of you as you finish the growth hormone injections. I was sorry to hear that you can't plan that USA trip because of insurance costs, but I definitely understand.

Glad you're enjoying some sunshine and hope it comes our way soon. Hugs, Dorothy

I have hope

Hello Sue, I honestly cannot begin to imagine just how tough things are for you right now. But I do know for sure that as long as you have hope you can overcome. I wish I could grant you a wish that would come true. All I've got is words. Oh I've also got one great big cyber space cuddle for you.

When you are through the worst just imagine how much fun you are going to have - eating and drinking all those things that are currently off limits. So you hang on in there. All your cyber space chums are sending you strong get well vibes. XX Carol

So happy you are done with treatment 7. May you have a quick passing of the side effects. You have a beautiful spirit. This will pass.

Thank you for all your kind words.

I'm plodding on, being well looked after and looking forward to going out some time in the future. It's been 6 months since I first found the swollen gland and because my TKR was so new before that I've hardly been out of the house for a year except to hospital visits and the nights in the local hotel; before that of course was the osteoarthritis restriction, but it could be worse.

Spring is lovely some days here in Cheshire and I've done a little seed planting, just at the kitchen sink, trays to be taken down to the greenhouse.

Better health will follow I hope.

:flwrysmile::flwrysmile::flwrysmile:

Oh, that sounds great getting some seeds going. Let's hope you will be seeing your own health spring soon.

@Ellejay where will you go in France? I hope you don't mind me pulling you over to my thread? :)

Hi @Dabber, thank you for the invite :).
We will take about a week to travel down to the south, probably stopping in the Ardeche for a few days before going to Frejus, near to St Tropez. We will be moving onto somewhere in the Avignon region, from where we can get to the Carmargue, Nimes and the Pont du Gard. We want to return via the Millau viaduct, after years of holidaying in France we still haven't seen this beautiful bridge. Then we will call in on friends in the Loire Valley for a while before returning home. We shall be using Eurotunnel both ways, it is so quick and easy.
Now I'm getting excited, I can't wait. :dancy:

@Ellejay I'm stunned, as that's where we go....Frejus! We're in Cheshire. If we can, we hope to go in September, if I'm fit to travel by then. I'm amusing myself planning a route, or will be. We don't have a caravan, but we stay in a private site. I've been on a course in the Loire Valley a couple of times.

Amazing @Dabber, what a small world! It is a beautiful part of the coast. We stayed on a site just outside Frejus - L'Etoile d'Argens. Apparently it was under six foot of water in June 2010, but we didn't find that out until June last year. We thoroughly enjoyed it, but were a little nervous, luckily it didn't rain whilst we were there, and we're going to risk it again this year.

@Ellejay I'll have to catch up with you tomorrow as I have my injection to do now, but yes, small world, I'm just reading your thread, or was.....I'm in chemo, well not right now, but must go back to rest. :)

Hi @ Dabber, I've been reading your thread, I had no idea everything you have been through and are still going through. You are a truly amazing person and an inspiration to us all. When you feel up to it we'Ll compare notes on France, in the meantime do rest and take care.
Lots of hugs, xxx

@Ellejay Thanks. I had no idea when I had my TKR that within 3 1/2 months I'd have a pacemaker and cancer. I did have the date for my TKR and a letter suggesting I'd been recommended for a pacemaker on the same day.

I'm on my penultimate chemo cycle now, the last one is on 27th March and then I'll go onto 2 years maintenance therapy as the lymphoma is incurable, but I hope for remission. Before all this I was happily doing OU courses....French, well not too happily, struggling with pain and tiredness.

We have 5 jolly grandchildren too and I was delighted I was able to see our youngest son through his degree and get to his graduation last summer. He lives at home......we had 4 of his friends staying last night! He even got his dream job, so I've been able to concentrate on my treatment with the sterling help of my husband.

I really like to find lovely interesting places to visit on the way down to the South of France, I'm hoping to plan, even if we can't go this year.

Will catch up with you later.

Sue xx

Hi @Dabber. hope you don't mind me contacting you like this. I just want to say what an awesome, lovely person you are. You are a true inspiration for people and you are dealing with what life has thrown at you in such a positive and wonderful manner. It sounds like you have a good support with your husband. That certainly will help. I know you are following me and I am more than happy for you to read through my posts if you want. They're a good cure for insomnia! Nah, only joking. You are more than welcome

Thank you, @Nana moon 27 of course I don't mind. :friends:You're not a million miles from us, in fact our son commutes to Birmingham every day.
I think I may ask haemplan if I can use arnica on my knee, have you tried it @patient 99 or anyone? I can't use anti inflammatories yet, forbidden by my cancer care team, sadly.

Hi Sue not heard from you on the forum for a while and was wondering how you are. Carol dosent seem to have been on either. Have you both eloped to sunnier climates calling for a well earned rest. My knee is so much better and Bakers Cyst seems to have calmed down a lot thank goodness. Don't want to be calling in at the Nuffield any time soon. Take Care Sue.

@robynhood Hi Pat, I'm on the cusp of my last chemo :dancy::spin::yay::happydance::bicycle1:

It's on Thursday 27th......

Then I wait a fortnight and have a CT scan. Hopefully in about 8 weeks I'll have my first infusion of maintenance therapy.

I should be able to go out into the big wide world in about 6 weeks.

I'm so glad your knee is improving. :yay::yay:I'll have my 1 year check up in May, I think mine is improving now the whole leg swelling has gone down.

So it's Onwards and Upwards!

:flwrysmile:

Well, I had my last chemo on 27th March. Today is my birthday and I did my final growth factor injection yesterday, so that in itself was a good present.
On Monday is my CT scan to find out whether the treatment has worked.

Happy Birthday Sue. Many many Happy returns. Believe me when I say I will keep everything crossed for a good result from your CT scan. I don't think you will get your results straight away will you. My friend has to wait a couple of weeks for hers. Hope you are feeling ok and you got spoilt for your birthday. Sending you warmest wishes and hugs :flwrysmile::friends::flwrysmile::friends::flwrysmile::friends::flwrysmile:

@Dabber
Dear Sue,
Happy Birthday to you :happydance:I hope you had a Wonderful day :) I will keep you in my
Prayers that your CT scans all turn out great.
Thinking of you,
Diana:flwrysmile:

@robynhood @new knee in June
Thanks, I had a very quiet birthday, but received 2 lovely bunches of flowers and lots of cards. I'm going to be taken out for an icecream for being a good girl when my scan has been done :rofsign::giggle::heehee:. This is a big deal as I've hardly left the house for a year!
My haematology nurse will phone with the scan result, I expect it will be a week or two....nervous time.
