THR Chappyd's recovery story

Just resting here now. What a day. Love my Dr . His bedside sense of humor fits mine to a tee, and down to earth approachable. Done enough miles for today, just bathroom trips for the rest of the night. So glad this place is here. I was filled with apprehension when we drove up this morning. Elevating and icing :ice::good-bad:

The OR was very impressive. A bunch of sharp young people. Then I looked around and saw one guy dressed up like an astronaut from 2001 a space oddesy! He must be the guy who used the power tools turned back around really fast. I was facing a young woman who's job it was to keep me on the table ( I wa s sitting on the edge of the table) while they did the spinal. They also gave a "light" sedative. The last thing I remember was looking at her shirt, a solid blue, and it looked like a kaleidescope.

Glad to see you over here! We will be recovering and kicking a$$ together on this path!

So good to hear from you! How are you doing? I'll get over there and check out your thread. Starting to mod a little now,

So last night had a hard time getting comfortable. Meds being taken at appropriate times, and the pain has eased to the point where i was able to get some sleep going in . Resting comfortably. I felt sorry for my wife last night, every time she sat seems I needed something else. She was very tired too and in much better spirits after getting some sleep. My dog has really surprised me. She is a "high energy" dog but is being very calm, coming by to be pet every so often.

It's just a getting through this stage, right?
I agree...my "lap dog" had to de-lap due to double anterior incisions.
After just a few times of being banned and sensing I was hurt...he decided he would just curl up between my feet.
Actually still annoying at times as I felt the constant need to move my legs and he was in The Way!
All temporary and At Some Point...you will be grateful for your new hip.:) :-) (:

Glad you got some sleep in. Your wife may also need a nap today. Worrying and care giving is very tiring for sure. Consider ordering in tonight to give her a break.
Ya she's been great. I already did suggest it, but she had some chicken in the fridge to use. Maybe I'll ask her again and maybe she can freeze the chicken:idea:

I'm already grateful. This is going to be great! Last night my leg was restless and occasionally twitching. Ouch :swoon:
