Excuse me zauberflöte -- I didn't mean to almost knock you over, I was trying to grab a few of the balloons from your 8 week update before sqwerlie shoots them all so I can attached ByGosh hope and prayers to give them a boost so they go to the front of the line along with all the others from her BS friends.

Now to hope and pray it works!

ByGosh sure hope you get relief from the injections. Your doc sounds great...willing to listen, calm, and willing to explain what he is doing. Will keep you in my prayers the next few days that you start to get some steady improvement.
We better sign Roz up for some more tours after she visits the palace and Charles' residence...she could go into business...lol!

Glad to hear the injections went smoothly ByGosh. I chuckled when you described the needles. I remember when I got my first hip injection, as I was lying on the table I overheard the nurse ask the doctor if he wanted the 3 inch or 5 inch needle. I just took a deep breath and sent up a fast prayer! Looking forward to seeing how much they help your pain!

There you go ByGosh worrying about others again, and we would hate for you to be any different!! My back seems to be getting easier thank you, still stiff in the mornings but not waking me too early any more thank goodness!! Xx

ByGosh, I'm so grateful that that's over and it was handled with all the skill you describe. I think that's half the battle. I had one shot in my hip as you described. Mine was painful, but after 2-3 I did get so much relief. It wasn't for the same problems and my outcome was a new hip... I sincerely pray that your tendonitis miraculously clears up never to return as a result of the treatment you just had today  !!!

Thank you so much for catching us up so thoroughly regarding your appointment. I can't wait to hear the fantastic report after a wonderful night sleep!

Nancy

ByGosh Just been reading about your injections. Phew.! I bet you are glad that's over. I hope they work for you and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel at last. And if you don't get the results you hope for, at least there are other options available. your OS sounds really nice and supportive.

I saw the tray laid out with 6 or 8 very large and very long needles
Oh ByGosh, I would have been on the floor and out cold after 1 look at the needles. Sleep well tonite...Hope each day gets a little bit easier.
Annie

Can't you get a sedative to help you deal with big, scary needles? I think need one just reading about it. I'm not good with needles.

Wow, ByGosh! Thanks for such a detailed report!
I will keep my fingers crossed in regard to the culturing of the fluid. It doesn't sound bad; when my mom had her swollen knee aspirated, the OS told us he expected to see clear, pinky-orange fluid (and was clearly displeased when it was milky and yellow-greenish!) He, too, had said that the removal of the fluid ought to provide some relief at the moment.
I think you are right (or did someone else say this?) you might feel a bit sore from all the needles, by tomorrow! Songman had more neck injections yesterday, and he is definitely sore today from being used like a pincushion!
Oh, goodness, I hope this starts you on the real road to recovery!!!! :friends:
And - Nylsor - I never thanked you for the London tour! I have never been, and I so hope to go there someday. I never watch TV, but I will need to turn it on to see the Royal Baby! What fun, and how good to have a bit of positive news in these days!

Nylsor Somebody 'up there' must like you, as your prayers for me today worked. It was not difficult at all. I'm sure the pain pill helped, but it was still quite bearable. I hope your other prayers are heard, and I do get better. I'm praying, too.
Your trips to Buckingham Palace and Clarence House sound wonderful! I can't wait until you go, and enjoy yourselves seeing those interesting exhibits and the lovely furnishings, and then be so kind as to tell us all about it. I would be very curious about Charles and Camilla's house. Do the British like and accept Camilla? I would think that since Diana is dead, some people may blame her, as Charles always loved Camilla, didn't he? I wonder if it was difficult for William and Harry to accept her? It's so terribly tragic what happend to such a beautiful and compassionate Princess.
But I would rather think happy thoughts and agree that William and Kate are lovely - they seem very much genuinely in love, and very happy together. It's a wonderful event having the little Prince - for everyone.

Thanks again for your kindness. I don't know how I can ever repay you and all of the wonderful people here who've been so good to me.

Thanks sandpiper I'm relieved it's over and hope it helps me get over this unfortunate complication. I appreciate your support and your checking in with me. Take care and keep up with your good recovery.

alexthecat I'm actually not afraid of needles. It's just after I saw those large, long needles, and 10cc syringes and knowing where they were going - right where it hurt! - my apprehension about the procedure became much greater! I never let a paitent see the needle, especially in pediatrics, because then they really get scared, and most times, the kids will have a screaming fit. At least the nurse could have covered the tray with a towel!.... but it's all good. The pain pill definately took the edge off, and it wasn't bad at all! I'm glad it's over and would gladly do it in a heartbeat if I knew it would work.
Thanks for checking in with me, I appreciate your thoughts!

Kylesh LOL You're too funny! :heehee: (And clever, too.) Thanks for your hope and prayers. Now it's just the waiting.... to see if the fluid is ok and to see if the shots do the trick.....I'm hoping and praying, too, and I appreciate your prayers, as well.
How are you doing? Any info on the anticipated move?

nmscienceteacher Yes, the new OS seems really good - like a doctor should be. I'll tell you about my last visit to my original OS who did the surgery sometime. He was not very good.
I'm with you, hoping I see steady improvement -- and also that Nylsor could start a business as a virtual on-line tour guide! I can't wait to hear her next adventure!
There's a Barbara Walter's Special on about the Royal Baby now. Sorry friends, but I have to leave all of you lovely people to watch it. I'll respond to your wonderful posts and kind and caring well wishes later!:)

zauberflöte You may be last but you're certainly not least! :) Thanks for your prayers. I'm grateful to have you (and all of these wonderful people) in my corner...I'm sure you know how much it helps.
I hope your recovery is going smoothly. I've be so tied up in my own thread (pun?) that I've unfortunately neglected all of my post-op friends. I hope I can get back to offering everyone else some support soon! It helps me to help them.
Take care, and take a nice walk for me - it's been awhile.

Glad to hear the procedure went so well, ByGosh. Sounds as though your doctor genuinely understands the pain you're having, and is happy to discuss everything fully with you. Always a good start - and not always the case, unfortunately.

Like you, I am not afraid of needles. Just as well, as I lost count of the numbers of cannulas I had to have put in to administer antibiotics, during the period covering my revision. Despite the fact that at 5 feet 8 inches, and weighing in at just over 10 stone I am hardly a delicate little petal of a thing, I apparently have exceptionally titchy veins. Often they could only get the cannulas in at a third attempt. My arms were black and blue. But quite honestly, so long as those nasty, vicious little bugs were getting their daily hefty cocktail of neat arsenic and cyanide, that was fine by me.

I'm glad too that your mood has been lightened by the birth of the royal baby. Over here the wall-to-wall coverage has been pretty hyper. All my favourite "news" programmes for the past few days have been hijacked by a reporter standing outside the hospital (with nothing to report) and another team outside Buckingham Palace (with exactly the same nothing to report). And I feel you really have to question the sanity of anyone who would camp out on the pavement for several days to catch a distant glimpse of any passing royal, when they could sit comfortably at home, see it clearly on TV, and press Record for added excitement ad infinitum.

All the best for the coming few weeks. You have a clear plan of action now. That's a great step forward.

Do the British like and accept Camilla? I would think that since Diana is dead, some people may blame her, as Charles always loved Camilla, didn't he?
Yes, I think they do now although not at first. She was always blamed for their affair, although it takes two to tango. She has made Charles happy, he is quite a different man since they got married. And yes, he did always love Camilla - or so we're told. I think maybe they thought that Diana would just accept that he had a mistress, but they thought wrong. An awful tragedy but happier days now for the Royal family. William is a level-headed young man who clearly loves his wife.
Thanks again for your kindness. I don't know how I can ever repay you and all of the wonderful people here who've been so good to me.
Dear ByGosh, my dear mother used to say ' What goes around, comes around'. When I found the BS site I was so scared and lonely despite the support of my lovely Mike. I couldn't stop crying. But within a week I felt like a different person. All thanks to you and others on this site who were very quick to send me lovely messages and words of wisdom. And what a very nice community there is here on your thread. None of us have ever met yet we care about each other. And I'm going to take you all out for a day in Cambridge very soon and also back to the Palace and Clarence House. Our daughter spent six years at Uni there so I know it very well. Mike's hiring and driving a small coach as there are so many of us.:heehee: :loll:
I so hope that you got a good night's sleep dear, and that the cortisone is already working. Loving thoughts    Ros xxx

Hi glynis I do so agree. On Monday evening, we sat down to watch 'Long Lost Family' on ITV only to find that we had more than an hour of the new baby. We turned to BBC1 - same there. Followed by 30 minutes of the News - featuring the new baby. Followed by a prog called ' Born to be King'. Yesterday morning, my newspaper had 15 pages of the new baby - and we hadn't even seen the poor little man or his Mum and Dad at that point. I like the Royal Family but the press and media here really go into overdrive on these occasions. I bet the hospital is glad to see the back of all the press who have been camped outside in the street for more than two weeks. As well as the public. One old guy of 78 years has been sleeping on a bench there for more than a week! Still, at least it's a happy event and we do so like Kate and William and wish them all well. Rosx

glynis Nylsor I was also settling down in front of the telly on Monday evening to watch " Long Lost Family " only to find it was wall to wall baby talk but with the same details being repeated and repeated but it makes a change from the cricket and golf.I too wish them well.As ByGosh said William and Kate are obviously in love and the baby is gorgeous.Camilla was not accepted at first but she is now. They should have married when they first met but then we wouldn't have William and Harry or Kate either.Your trip to Buck House sounds good x

ByGosh, So glad your injection procedure went well. I hope it gives you the relief you are seeking. I'm also, especially, glad that your new OS is a good one. That makes such a huge difference. One of the things about you that is most impressive to me is how you are always turned outward toward other people, despite the challenges you are facing. That is probably the reason you have such a huge crowd of friends with you in your BoneSmart mansion@

Nylsor, Will your contacts be able to help you get us a chance to meet with William and Kate and the new little Prince? Can't wait for the next trip, and it is so kind of Mike to drive so many BoneSmarties!
