Marianne, you and I make quite a pair, huh??? Luckily my cold seems to have died down very quickly though I still feel it lingering so I'm not sure it's over just yet. I hope you get better very soon!

Marianne, I'm so sorry to hear that you broke a part of your hand! And, that darn splint thief keeps taking you brace off while you sleep! Now, you've added a cold to the mix!:yikes: It seems that everyone I talk too has a dang cold and or sinus infection, Norm and I added ourselves to the long line as well! Thank goodness we got our flu shot. Did you get yours?
I hope you get well quickly!:console2:

Marianne sorry to hear you broke your wrist. As if we needed anything else to go wrong! I have got the nasty cold too, blech is how I feel. At least its not the flu.

Are you guys having the super cold weather there too? I am in the San Diego area, so know we are fairly close to eachother. The cold is irritating to the knee a bit, but so far so good. Hugs!

Just got back from the doctor. Sinus infection, ears also infected. No wheezing, throat red and fever 100 which I NEVER get that high..although I know that's not much. My normal is 97, hot flashes and all. Dr. gave me a shot of antibiotics and RX for levequin and cough syrup. So the pharmacy is dead and they tell me it will be 20 minutes so I sat right there hacking in the waiting chairs. hahah that sped it up. In comes one of the teachers from school and says NURSE! My hair is crazy, no makeup, sweating and sitting there holding 2 packs of cough drops. Anyway it was comical.
This wrist is not stabalized enough. will just type with one hand so i can let it rest.
yeah shelly this is nuts. my tkr knee is fine. just the pain when you get up and first walk and the feeling you have a chunk of wood in it.

Oh poor Marianne, broken wrist, sinus infection and ears and temp to boot. Guess you do it up good. You take care girl.

Marianne, hope you can get over that nasty cold soon. From what I hear, it tends to hang on a bit. Drink plenty of fluids and rest!

7 weeks after my second was too soon. I was exhausted, and once trying to keep up with the demands of the job, I had less time to focus on me and the knees. Too tired for the PT I had been doing. Too tired for the good walks I had been taking. And pain and swelling increased. Went immediately to part time for a month. Much better but even with that at work had less control over how long I sat at a meeting or stood at a podium, or how fast I had to walk to get from one meeting to the next. Had some bad days. At some point we have to do what we have to do. With FMLA my job was only secure for 12 weeks. Had to talk about quitting to get them to extend it to 14. And getting approval for the monthh of part time was touch and go for a while. I definitely expected to be unemployed. Maybe that would have been better. No not really!!

Marianne sorry to hear you are under the weather! I hope you feel better soon. :kittykiss:

Man we all sure seem to have a bundle of issues! Colds, falling, broken wrists, kidney stones, etc. I think we all need magic beans that make us all healthy and unclutzy!

Before I lost my fight with the URI, I was joking about having one tkr, the other knee just had synvisc, then the left wrist fracture and the right hand got a cortisone shot for trigger finger while at hand surgeon. So I was yucking it up joking that I should start wearing a helmet since that would be the next thing to go.....then BOOM comes sinus/cough/etc.
So Shelly hopefully I don't get your stones next!

Marianne - time for good health!! Goodness, you have been through it. Shelley - got an address for those magic beans!! Buddhabear - glad you got their attention and secured your situation. Not an additional stress you needed.

Accchhhh woke up at 3 cold and perspiry, hair clumping up in dreads, house freezing at 64 where I keep thermostat during noc but too cold maybe with my URI. It's 37 outside. Where's my sunny cal? Found my splint but had to turn on top light. I just had to share my nocturnal discomfort with you all! Colds/sinus are so annoying!! Others please free to chime in!

Marianne, sorry you were up so early. It is no fun especially when you are sick. I don't sleep very well myself and am frequently up during the night so it gets very old. I hope you get some sun today to perk you up. We are very mild here today, 60ish, but dreary, fog and mist. Big hug!

I hope that you are on the mend. I think the country is in an upside down weather pattern. 37 in sunny CA, here in Boston, it will be 61 degrees for the Pats game! Just crazy.
Feel better, and take care of those bones! Getting old just stinks, huh?
Best,
Sandy

Time to give yourself a break and turn the thermostat up to 68 at night and 72 when you want to get up! Hope you enjoyed the sun in LB; we had lots of it in the Santa Monica Bay area, but still frigid cold. Emergen-C - and tons of it. Too late to stop the cold/URI, but will give you tons of minterals and vitamins and start building you back up. Even my kids (who are starting to recognize mom is not some silly ol' foll kids have to put up with) all swear by it and keep it on hand. They even start force-feeding it to their roomies when they start to sniffle.

chills/fever all day. did get a few minutes of sun out back for a bit... picking up yorkie poops. such is life. think i could make a grilled cheese on my chest feel so hot. daughter brought me chix soup and a little salad from Whole Foods but nothing tastes very good. was sweet.
love you guys and sorry I'm a dud

Awww, Marianne, sorry you aren't feeling well. Did you get a flu shot? Hope you feel better soon.

Feel better soon.

Feel better very soon! Sorry that you are so sick
May you wake in the morning feeling 1000 times better!

Well, no need to apologize for being a dud. We are Duds Anonymous . Didn't anyone tell you? My grandma used to say a cold lasted ten days, either that or a week and a half. I hope the fever breaks and you feel better. SOON! (I hate to say it but that's the trouble of working with kids. I want to volunteer at the high school but it's so nice not to be exposed to everything under the sun.)
