THR Bluebell53's Recovery

Hi all.. Just another bump in the road for me. Just found out that I have bursitis in my new hip. It is really bothering me to the point it's hard to get comfortable in bed keeping me awake. In addition to this, I'm scheduled for another THR in September and will be having my knees done soon after this. Question, will the bursitis subside on its own? Or should I have my dr check it out?

@Bluebell53
I developed bursitis in my new hip too. I was sent, by my OS, to PT again. It did not alleviate it at all. He gave me some Voltaren gel and 800mg of Motrin. I used the gel every day for a few days and took 1 Motrin at night. It took about 2-3 weeks for it to go away. He could have given me an injection, but he does not do injections in new hips. I found that resting, ice, Motrin and the gel worked out just as well. Good luck.

@Jaycey, they found the bursitis when they did an MRI of my other hip.

It can do and it can also settle into a chronic condition.

Depends which 'doctor' you mean. I always get a bit puzzled when you US members say that as you call both your surgeons and your GPs, doctor! A good treatment for TB is a cortisone injection which usually works really well (well it did for me!)
