@Bluebell53 Hi, I would think that it probably isn't a dislocation with no pain. We all have that first "event" that makes us super worried. So, you have called, ice, and take some deep breaths, stay off it a bit. Is it big, small, red, hot?
 
@Bluebell53 Worry not - if you dislocated your hip you would not be able to walk and the pain would be unbearable. Not sure what the lump is around your incision but it is not a dislocation. Try icing. Falls or near falls post op do cause aching as your soft tissues are still healing and the jar of a fall can aggravate.
 
It's a hematoma.. Doctor said it will dissolve itself in a few days.

Back from the edge! Whew!!! It is amazing how scary it all is and then the issue dissolves away!
 
Fatigue has hit me bad!!! How long does this usually late. I virtually have no energy.

I'm almost a year out and I still get it. Well, it's sorta my "go to" excuse when I just want a nap.

Realistically, about six months. On and off.

Oooh honey!!! How awful! I know just how evil a near fall can be. It took me ~10 days to start improving where I'd left off. I hurt like a son of a gun and wrenched my back kicking off major sciatica. Lots of rest and ice. Baby it like you did before you could do stairs and groceries for a few days. If your back starts to hurt, check out your favorite local Chiro. Improved me tremendously. Love and hugs !!!!

Hi @ Michegon, I'm doing great. Today marks six weeks since my posterior THR. Other than the stiffness I feel in the morning I'm doing pretty darn good. I can still tell when I do too much. Last week I had surgery on my right hand for carpel tunnel. That is healing nicely too. I'm very pleased with my decision to have my hip surgery, I haven't felt this good in a long long time. Hope everyone is doing well. By the way, I just got engaged. I'm planning a wedding next May.

Is stiffness normal for six weeks post op? I usually get it first thing in the morning making it hard to walk down the steps. Still alittle sore at times, but manageable.

Hi all... I haven't posted in a while and wanted to give you an update on my recovery. I was doing pretty good until a few days ago when I lost my footing and almost fell coming out of my house into the garage. Since then, I've had terrible thigh pain on the side I had my hip surgery. I can hardly walk and going up steps is agonizing. I see the dr today, hopefully it's nothing serious. Any ideas from anyone on what could it be? Maybe muscular? Totally miserable!

Hoping for good news today! Sounds like ice and elevation might be in order.
 
Good luck with your doctor appointment and thanks for the reminder to me . My family is constantly reminding me to be a little bit more careful with my walking and where I go when walking about outside . Just out of curiosity Bluebell what is your status with walking aids were you still using one at the time of the incident. I still use a cane when I'm in an area not sure of my footing otherwise no walking aids in the house. I was hoping by 8 weeks I could ditch the cane completely but after hearing your incident I'm not sure
