Yes, my PT told me to cross scar massage 3-4 times a day, she said nothing about bit E

I can't wait for my scabs to fall out so I can start using some oil. I had a pretty hill day today as Gru was a bit sore from all the traveling I did along with stupid move on the stairs. I actually took a pain pill this morning, have not done that for a couple of weeks.
I took my night mess so it's time for nighty nights!

Brenda - i saw the hairs and I thought - that's me leg HA HA - like you I was too scared to go near my knee - now its getting onto winter and I only wear jeans / pants so do i care - NO!!!

I dinn't have any scabs - mine was fairly healed at about 3 weeks - I was in the hydro pool without any covering at 3-4 weeks and definitely all healed over. I didn't have steri strips so no idea

Something 30% of people can have a reaction to vit. E, so test an area before you go all out. I'm one of the 30% so I just use organic coconut oil, works well and smells divine!

34 days post op and I finally slept through the night :). I think it's the new med combo that has helped a lot plus sleeping with the window open helped too.

I miss having formal PT as I can't tell if I've had any improvement but I'm still doing my exercises and look forward to my evaluation on Tuesday.

It's hard to believe that this is my last week home ALREADY! Where have the last 5 weeks gone? I'm thankful I'm returning for just 4 hours as sitting upright is still a challenge but I will elevate and ice while there.

Hope everyone is having as beautiful Sunday as I.

Brenda

Congrats on sleeping through the night! I started sleeping through the night last week and it was wonderful..I still get up every couple of hours to go potty but I go right back to sleep....Wishing you luck on going back to work..I am thankful that I am my own boss and can make my own schedule..hope you are having a good Sunday!

Brenda, woo hoo! Sleep! Sounds like just in the nick of time too.

Yeah for sleep!! Its amazing how quickly the time passes - I hope your last week home is filled with sleep and healing :)

Bringing up the rear on the sleep situation -- for the last week or so, I've slept more than five hours at a clip on several nights. Hallelujah! It's not where it should be but better than it was!

I go back to work on Tuesday!

Yes, work next week for just 4 hours a day then 6 the week after. I really wish I could have afforded the 3 months the Dr. Suggested but it's not meant to be.

Good luck @SeptemberZen on your return to work, are you going back part time?

I envy all you folks who can choose your hours! At most jobs, you're either "there" or "not there". :-) But my managers have been great about this and if I need to leave early for a few days, no one will squawk.

I gave my boss a heads up months ago that I was resigning to move to Florida, working in civil service she was thrilled to have the advance notice so she could plan... I'm four weeks out from moving now and shes repaying the favor by letting me work whatever number of hours I can. It helps that my HR person knew to mark my FMLA intermittent and my docs note matches that.

I guess we are all just thankful that we have jobs to go back to..ITs going to be an adjustment both physically and mentally, but I figured since we all just went thru a major surgery and survived, then we can tackle just about anything!

"True dat", as we say in the 'hood! Hahahahaha....
My biggest concern is my commute; a lot of getting on and off buses and trains but once I get to work, all will be well. Now that I found the med cocktail that works (ibuprofen and acetaminophen together), I feel much better about things. My pain is level 1-2 most days except when I walk around too much and that was a concern for me as well. Now that I know I can get through the day without too much pain and without the Percocets, I'm feeling much more positive.

Good luck to us all! :yahoo:

Wow all you gals going back to work - Brenda, @Spencieca @SeptemberZen - that really is "normal" - we as normal as any of us BSs can be - LOL
My only report is that I am back dog walking 3 days a week - only an hour or so buy it is the BEST!!

So glad that everyone above is finding a few more zzzzzs in the night - I can't remember the last time I did a middle of the night post - not that I miss it

Stay well all - Maggie x

To bad we can't all get those battery operated buggies to use when we get tired.

Spoke too soon- this is a middle of the night post! But that's ok. I'm reminded that recovery is not a linear process!

Just took my meds, saran wrapped my leg like a rump roast snd hopefully I'll drift back to sleep soon! :)

Chortle rump roast indeed. Its prob what I call Hommer syndrome, ie don't think dont think doh. Happy ZZZZs
