Wow that £40 for the physio was the best money I ever spent! And she was recommended by a Bonesmartie
@Apricot (thank you!) Watched me walk up and down, tried moving bad leg here and there very gently and asking where it hurt or felt uncomfortable , and then massaged mostly front of thigh and also right buttock. A bit ouchy but in a good way
@Barbaraj. When she finished I tried the same movements again and such a difference! I felt better and she said gait had improved which I could tell.
Only exercises at the moment - lie on bed and hang bad leg over the side, some gentle rolling of tennis ball of buttock against a wall, and lifting up knee on bad leg -on stairs would do.I can do those! Much talking at the start about my general recovery after each op, activity before, when deterioration started recently and what I'd been doing. General conclusion that right leg was not back to full strength re muscles, tendons etc and that I'd just asked too much of them too soon so they'd protested and everything very tight especially front of thigh. (All my words not hers) Not surprised by anything I told her, knew exactly where I was sore even before touching me from our conversation. Seeing me again in a couple of weeks. Thinks I just need rest, simple stretches, not being ambitious, sleep on back, keep knees apart sitting, ice under buttock.
This may sound a bit muddled but I'm still buzzing! She did say I'd be sore after the massage for a day or two. A small price to pay.
(She had worked for years for the NHS and said physio was still very hands on then, several sessions for weeks after the op and of course a week in hospital following the op.)
Hope your experience is as good
@linette333. So nice not to have a physio not issuing orders and wanting me to do bridges and clams when I was sore!
