THR Aussie's Posterior LTHR

Aww @MyAussieGirl
Love the story of the little white picket fence! How special the memory and to still have it to
treasure after all these years. At age 60, I've yet to own a manger scene (set) I've had my eyes peeled the last few years. I want to find one I really, really love! I guess they're all beautifully symbolic in that they're a reminder of Christ's birth.

Impressed your OS has his own wing at the hospital. He must crank them out! Sounds like you're in good hands
so you need to stop worrying your pretty lil self! It will be over in no time and you'll be resting on the new sofa.
We'll be here to cheer you on, keep you company, make you laugh, annoy you.....WHATEVER you want MAG!
Hope you have a good one and a good appt with the doc today.....Hugs!

@MyAussieGirl I looked up Gay Purr-ee (turns out that's how it's spelled) and watched some of it on Youtube-- what fun, and a stellar cast! I don't remember ever seeing it, huh.

My kids' babysitter (at her house) put the tree in the PLAYPEN my youngest's first Christmas! He learned to combat-crawl at 5 months going after her tree :shocked:so rather than constrain him, she saved the tree. I thought that was hilarious, and nearly did it myself too.

Keep us posted on dr visit tonight!!

Thank you for sharing your story about the fence @MyAussieGirl I'm sentimental about things like that too and treasure keepsakes as well. So 10 of your siblings got rid of theirs?????
Keep us updated on your appointment today, I'm waiting to hear all about it. I wish you well. Cheryl

I have to go to one of 2 others he works at and chose this cause he adores me and basically nobody will cross him there off with their heads lol. Gulp thanks for the support. @MyAussieGirl Hope you have a Good Day. One week from today you will be getting your LAST hip replacement! Double hippy and bionic like me and Zaub. No more hip pain is the best. 2018 will be a great great year.
Hope your nerves are OK...
Have a super day...all here are concerned about hurricane. Food bank preparing, put off mobile food pantry til 16th but I don't get worried about weather.
All gas and water going fast...:blackcloud:

Hey @MyAussieGirl
I took your advice and looked online for a Christmas place in Frankenmuth, Mi and found Bronner's.....it's huge! Oh my....I'll bet you could look around in there for hours. They had a virtual tour of the store and it looks like a Christmas decor' paradise for those who love all things Christmas. I only scratched the surface, I'll go back several more times to look, thanks for the tip!

I so want you to be comfortable going into your second surgery. I wish we had the right words. I guess prayer is all we can offer right now for your peace of mind and smooth sailing through it all. It's going to be over before you know it, you'll be back home recovering. Hopefully between your family doctor, the OS and gastroenterologist you'll have a better recovery. Losing those intestinal issues this time around would be so helpful in your recovery.

Sending a warm hug your way and wishing you a peaceful day and night......

@MyAussieGirl you shared your playpen with a dog??!? No wonder you're so nuts about them! All I can picture is Linus with his blanket, and Snoopy running past at the speed of light, "clomp"ing the blanket away from him.
[Bonesmart.org] Aussie's Posterior LTHR
can't find the strip where it says "clomp" as he grabs it...

Prayers are more than sufficient @Layla Thank you!! The hospital still hasn't called ...Grrr. My GP had cancelled because he forget to take his BP pill and had a problem so I didn't have to go... I go end of October ... Yay .. I just didn't feel like the whole another doctor appointment.

I only have 2 issues left ... riding home 2 hrs from hospital seems long and getting in car big swollen leg FIRST this time.

Zaubs I love my sofa it is hard for long laying but I gotta deal at least I can get up. @zauberflöte yes our dog Leroy and I shared a playpen he was a semi small black and white dog. I think mom needed a break and I am a SNOOPY freak.

EVERYONE I am on little sleep not able to catch up with all with so much going on here and in FL... I feel for my granddaughter she's had to cancel her birthday pool party ... I know they can lose their house and all but kids don't get that.

Love you all.

Hi @MyAussieGirl I'm glad you are sharing your thoughts and concerns; that's a great way to deal with your thoughts and worries. I'm sure you will do smashing on the 2 hour car ride home; I know you will need at least once stop an hour in to move whether you want to or not. Bring a couple pillows for the car to maybe put at your side and or behind your head depending on if the seat will semi recline. An ice pack may help too but may chill you so bring a blanket maybe too. You are the patient and the boss and have to try and get as comfortable as possible. At least you will know what to expect this time around and what to do to prevent some of your previous issues you had. I'm sure you will do great and all your buddies are here praying for you. Cheryl

Mags @MyAussieGirl I did that "big swollen leg has to go in car first" too, 7 weeks ago tomorrow! I remember it was fairly sedately gymnastic, and took a couple of runs at it but it was ok once I got in. The problem for me was bending my long back, which doesn't bend, to get all of me INside the car...I was amazed that I rode in the car for an hour and a half, including a fairly long nap, with almost no ill effects! I'd taken the hospital pharmacy up on their offer to make my percocet prescription up for me, as I'd be due in the middle of the drive. I am very thankful I did that! Also I KNOW I had ice, but somehow am very fuzzy on the details of that. Oh....maybe we stopped and bought a bag of ice at the 7-Eleven. That sounds familiar. Or hubby had picked it up that morning, makes more sense. Can't remember. Cheryl's idea about bringing something to warm you when the ice chills you is so good!

I still think you will do just fine! You seem to naturally be a worrier so probably all our reassurances won't help but we will keep trying. :console2:

I had to ride home just over an hour and it wasn't bad at all. Any further than that and we would have stopped so I could stretch I imagine. Just put your butt on the seat first and then someone can help lift your leg into the car and off you go. Probably a good idea to stop once to stretch a bit but it won't be a bad trip.

You have so many positive things going for you this time. To start with you've been through this recently so you know what to expect. Then you have a surgeon who has a wing of the hospital named after him. How can you beat that?? That is fantastic to say the least!! Next you have your new couch so you can get up and down all by yourself without any help this time. Last time that was a major problem if I remember correctly. Plus you are having it done while the weather is still fairly decent so you can still get outside. Everything sounds just right to me. I'm sending positive healing thoughts your way and will keep you in my prayers.

I'm sorry about your granddaughter (I didn't know you had a granddaughter). Does she live in FL? My youngest son and his family live in south Florida so they are leaving today for Orlando to hopefully get out of the worst of the storm. Luckily their home is a newer one built to hurricane standards so I'm sure son has hurricane shutters all up. They are a few miles inland but still a big worry and I'm glad they are going farther north. I hope your family and friends in both FL and TX are doing ok. @Mojo333 Thinking of you now as well with Irma headed your way. It will be a time when your job at the food pantry is even more important than ever. It must be a huge task preparing for something like this. I wish you and all those in your area the best. Storm certainly sounds catastrophic at this time but we'll all pray it slows down and turns way out eastward.

Prayers for both of your relatives @MyAussieGirl and @GrannyC
Scary situation! May they all be safe...

MAG, I'm sure you've heard, but just in case you haven't......placing a large trash bag on the seat helps you easily swivel into place once seated. I did it for the ride home from the hospital and it worked great!

You're gonna get through this with flying colors. You're a pro and you have love and well wishes coming at you from all directions. And we know who's in charge here anyway. Many of us are interceding on your behalf.
So CHILL sweet woman....you've got this!

Thanks everyone and sorry for the group post back but pressed for time. I got the bill from the hospital the one for the 13th lol and I WILL owe ZERO as I hit all my maximums insurance wise. I bet Blue Cross doesn't pick me up next year hehe I cost them over 100 thousand dollars this year.

Thanks for the tips I know most of them it's just the uncharted territory of swollen leg in first. I am semi short and VERY flexible be let's hope I get the damn thing in....

I do have my step daughter her husband and my step granddaughter LIVING in FL right on the ocean in Juno Beach. They were putting metal shutters up when we called yesterday...

I am glad I have all the love and appreciate it but when I'm gone can you all look in on a few people I worry on.... froggymom....dickie1 and Snickers....??? Froggy is a major concern and don't tag them here just check in on them please till I get back.

I know I will NOT be here the 12, 13 and 14th after that I dunno...My point is don't worry on my silence on those days.

Broners @Layla if you can shop and buy online will have what you want. I was there years ago....it's SO much it overwhelmed me.

Hugs all
