I hope it rains here I too protect my pets from the eclipse. Then on TV they said a lot of those eclipse eye glasses are not going to work they are fake. @Layla I had a nice time at the beach but man had to get after some kids. One mom came in the water and chewed them out. They hit her girl with a rock by her eye....Jeeze. VERY crowded today...Boo hiss we like it when it's just us lol

Yes I figured on a blanket even when I'm on it eating bit still kitty will get under it and scratch lol
 
@MyAussieGirl ohhhh that one's BAD.....

In my experience, cats loooove leather almost as much as they love a newly-returned-home THR! I have leather seats in my very old car, and since I'll drive it til it collapses, i don't much care what happens to them. One of my cats makes territory all over the driver's seat. So yeah, maybe you want to slipcover it in Naugahyde! :snork:
 
I know @zauberflöte I look at all Pat jokes that way but figured it would pass the mustard

My sofa is not leather I had a leather sofa years ago and 4 cats they never messed with it ..this one is some kind of cloth.

I hope everyone is okay today I didn't get on till just a minute ago and won't be on long. Busy day I won a Kindle fire today and swam just much but now it's late and I gotta go

on it nightly, like little kids, to break it in for your next recovery!

Wow! That is fantastic about the Kindle! How exciting! It will be so much easier for you to use than your phone. It just may take a few days to get used to how it works. You probably already know it but you can download some books from Amazon for free on it. Once they are on your Kindle, you don't have to be on the internet to read them. They usually put a couple books up for free each day so you have to keep watching and they only stay to get them for free for the one day. You can subscribe for free to a website called Pixel of Ink and every day they will send you an email telling you what books are free on Amazon. Of course, they also tell you about other books but it is an easy way and good reminder about the freebies on Amazon.

So the Kindle plus the beach sounds like a wonderful day. I do agree with the others than I would throw a blanket or sheet over the couch for a while since it is a light color and you don't want it getting dirty or scratched up right off the bat. Even if you throw the sheet over it when you aren't home and take it off when you use the couch if you wanted, it would help a lot. I would most definitely do that if it were mine and I had a cat or dog. Well, I do have a dog but luckily she doesn't go on the furniture as she is too big and she sheds wayyyy too much! It is bad enough she rubs her sides against the couch and turns the couch white from her all her hair :bawl:

@GrannyC lol your poor couch! I used to have a white cat, and I'd go to work in my sweeping full-length black dress....with an ermine band around the bottom. Good thing the audience couldn't see it onstage!

@MyAussieGirl that Kindle is going to serve you very well for your next hip-- congratulations!!!!!! I inherited a second-gen one, teeny little round dots for keys, display must be dying because it's hard to see no matter how bright your lights, but it was free and so was the book I wanted LOL.

Keep getting those swims in! I don't know when your season ends up there, but it will definitely be over by the time you can take Hip #2 in the water. Next summer, Two Good Hips and away you'll go!!!!!!
 
Hubby will not be allowed on the sofa @Layla he drools. I loled at the jumping I don't think so. Gang as bad as the dog and cat are .... I'm Worse lol.... I dropped chocolate sauce on my soon to be downstairs or in my bedroom light green antique sofa ...yikes I is bad.
 
GrannyC @GrannyC yes I already have an older Kindle...still have tons of books on it... I love them. I will keep both lol. I also read library books which lead me to win this Kindle. My mostly black and lol brown dog sneaks up on the sofa when we are gone. My kitty does her nails on hubby's chair when we are out or sleep. I figure she respects me a teeny bit...still I plan to cover it from lol ALL of us :loll:
 
Thanks @zauberflöte I think if you go to SETTINGS on your Kindle you'll see you can not only adjust the display but those AAAupper and lower case will help you make the print bigger too... I agree on fancy big Kindle does it all just in time for surgery. It's pretty too a tangerine color.
 
UPDATE. What a stressful day never got to beach it may be the last day for a good while. Had to deal with furniture delivery times Grrr they won, then bank on debit card they failed to tell me was closed due to a breath in security. THEN I go to post office to get my mail I got stuff from my OS office for pre op tests but has to be done in less than 2 days...and nobody returned my call to let me know if I can take the slip to the hospital he did my first hip at. Grrrr. He still has privileges. I hope I get a reply tomorrow well now today as the paperwork said if not done BY the 25th my surgery could be delayed. I didn't get the **** till near 5 pm ...thus I haven't been on here much tonight ... I have their cell numbers next time I will call OS himself ...not my fault be on Freaking mail

Hopefully you get all your pre-op stuff figured out.....you don't need the added stress.
Thinking your spot on with the swimming weather, not even reaching 80 here until (maybe) early next week.
I do love Fall though, so pretty at it's peak.

In a rush more later runs through Bonesmart ...... I LOVE my new sofa ... LOVE LOVE LOVE. It's so high and big and deep. Pretty too but I can get up and down easier.... I think we are gonna go try to get my pre op blood work and EKG in the next hour close to me too... Pharmacy has my surgical soap AND yes so far a good day...BE BACK LATER ALL

Gulp surgery soon
 
I went for my EKG and blood work and got to blabbing and laughing with intake lady. I told her get her flowers in water ...
Lol omg you can't see the purple ones but she insisted I keep them

I hope the next few days are less stressful for you. I know you have your second hip coming up soon and there is so much to do. You have a very positive attitude, so I know you will do well.:loll:

Congrats on the free Kindle! That is a huge bonus for your upcoming recovery. I went out and bought my first iPad last month to help get me through. It sure beats dragging my laptop around. I am embarrassed to admit that the iPad has been parked on my desk in the "off" mode for most of the time since I purchased it. That said, I am sure that it will be in the "on" mode from next week..

I'm happy you still love the sofa now that it's in your space! You never know till it arrives in person whether you'll still have a crush on it, or not....haha!
You have to break it in a bit though so it's nice and comfy for your newest hardware to gel in place!
Sounds like you're getting all the necessary medical stuff out of the way in an effort to clear the way for your next recovery. You'll do well, I'm sure.....you're a pro now!

Trying to catch up after the hospital lol we went to the library then Kroger then Burger King then hubby ran lol back to Kroger cause we forgot my um favorite low sugar mint ice cream... I was gonna wait till tomorrow but um he went and got it...pet supplies plus..home mess with cat and dog. Oh getting my EKG I ran into my in hospital PT we loled at blabbed a lot. She was glad to see someone WELL after surgery. Busy day and I love my sofa
