THR Aussie's Posterior LTHR

Just checking in @MyAussieGirl . So good to see you in here again and congratulations on 2 years since your first new hip! Time flies doesn’t it? You sound as lively as ever and once again keeping everyone thinking party time. I’ll try to watch for the new time and date but disappointed you didn’t keep first date. I hope this finds you doing well.

But GrannyC I didn't know anyone was coming this time I'm letting others pick the NIGHT. I miss you @GrannyC you kept me kinda...kind of sane ... YOU are in charge of entertainment for the party...I got chips and dip. Hard to believe we flew by 2 years i:prayer::console2:sn't it. Love you woman

:wave:Hey my friend. Don't know if a "party" is appropriate for the forum. I feel like it may run afoul of some very important protocols that have been set up to distinguish us from a live chat or facebook page.
I'm absolutely anxious to hear news about a specialist and what is going on with you, as I know you had some ongoing concerns.
I know SaraK and GrannyC are equally anxious to hear how you are and if you have gotten any answers.
Lots of "quieter" oldtimers may also want to glean some insight about your situation or if you would like to start a sort of "reunion thread" in Social Room, I am sure that it would be a better way to just catch up and stay within the parameters of the forum's intended structure.
Don't want to rain on your parade, but ...
Please do let us know how you are and about your news.
My interest has definitely been piqued.
You know you were my recovery friend and it meant alot for me to have someone to commiserate with in those tough times.:friends:

What times generally work for you for us to try to all chat at the same time about your ortho news (and anything else that comes up)? Days can be hard for me but evenings are hard for @GrannyC . And @Mojo333 goes to bed much earlier than either of us! Are you available around lunchtime (like between noon and 1 CT)? Or maybe late afternoon/early evening? I have a noon meeting Wed and a meeting Thur evening but can find time other than that.

@MyAussieGirl
Hope your weather has been nice so you can get some much needed outside time.
I know I crave Spring!
Do let us know about your hopefully Good News!

I’m anxious to hear your news as well @MyAussieGirl . You are keeping us in suspense! Are you thinking spring flowers yet or is it still too cold in MI? Pretty chilly here still. We had snow flurries both Sat and Sun mornings. My daffodils are blooming but too cold for any annuals still. Hope to hear from you soon, MAG!!

In a rush sorry I didn't know o. New rules ..well... Happy Mother's day till I get back ..hug and love ya all

Hope you have a great Mothers Day too, MyAussieGirl.
National Letter Carriers Food Drive this weekend so like Christmas Day for our charity. Also huge amount of work.
Hope all is well with you?

Hi all just came on for something else but I love you all and have been enjoying summer, even with the late start :swim::surfer::realing: . I see mom's day was good for all. I am well so newbies it really works out

Hip hip hooray:happydance:
Hope your summer is oh so sweet..
Glad to know you are happy.:yahoo:

Sounds like some of your niggles have resolved.
As for me...
I have been going to PT for the past few weeks for SI joint issues and though it has been checked many times at OS follows ups...a slight LLD was detected apparently due to tight hip flexors on right side. Stretches and exercises are getting this resolved...only bothered me mostly when sitting or laying.
A bit of maintenance on my refurbished vehicle I use to get through life, and still double hippy happy!

So good to see you again @MyAussieGirl !! Your post sounds positive so I can only assume all is well and you are doing fine. Hopefully lots of time at the beach this summer as we’ve had some pretty hot weather. All is well here with me. I’m enjoying all the nice weather I can as it will soon be winter again (yuck!). Take care and post when you can.

I hope you got an MRI for your lumbar spine @Mojo333 I am really enjoying summer and it's almost over :boohoo:
Whine whine....I don't like this thing about your back and would expound on it but I am not thinking itsi a BS sanctioned discussion. We will do this the other way. That said glad everything is going well minus that and it's awesome to see you :loveshwr:

Thank you @GrannyC I miss you. Think of you every time I look at my gardens and eat my veggies:flwrysmile: no tomato smiles in here lol... I also think of you as I get my stuff ready for winter like jewlery making kit, latch hook rug, books paints for painting rocks a late at night summer hobby of mine. Why do I think of you? You told be back when to try so many indoor things back when I couldn't go out. Well, I still find I can't do these things when I should lol but I am STILL trying to get into indoor things. All this summer it's been beach and gardening....rocks late :rofsign:

I too dread winter this last one was brutal. How are you?

Hi I hope you are doing well and are as happy as humans can be @SurreyGirl it's cool to see your pretty face in here. I didn't :froggies: when I had both surgeries so close together thus I was all :dancy: . Then summer came both times and :swim: . Sadly now :gaah: . winter. How are you what is happening in your life sweetie?

I have found in the course of the two new hips a few things I wish I had been told

1. No heels for me ever .over 1 inch my doctor's rule

2. No running EVER .. again MY doctor's rule

3. More people I... I repeat, I know who have had hip surgery , again this is from my life experiences...that you have a MUCH higher chance of back issues.

I think IMO I wish doctors would tell people this BEFORE surgery not after. In the case of heels and running I found out a year after hip one. I would not have cancelled my surgeries but I would advise people to talk things over with their surgeon before surgery . I think I would have an get MRI on back well after just in case . Just some newer things I have been meaning to share from my personal experience

Oh and let me add before I go who knows how long...days or months :loll: .I had another reason recently to need Opioids. They ..well nothing much helped me go to the bathroom after. hip one....hip two my gastroenterologist said Mirolax every day till I was off the meds nothing natural worked for me. Anyways, back to recently using Opioids bang could not go and one night I craved brownies...no comment...well I am diabetic and got sugar free brownies . End of problem for ME. :yay::spin::egypdance: .Night and hippy happy hugs to all of you..knee peeps too:cheers:

Hi there! Thanks for asking. Hip doing well but can still moan at me if I overdo it. Need to stretch more but back to swimming and sailing so that is good and driving my little car! Still working full time atm but considering options.

So what are the temps of an Australian winter like!?

Interesting about the back issues. My lower back is not ideal and have gone back to the passion killer of sleeping with a pillow between my legs! I was never a runner so no worries there.

I am dreading winter as usual
And am stocking up in Vitamin D as a precaution. Big birthday coming up so starting to plan for that. Hopefully there will be dancing.

Hope things are good in your world. Did I ever tell you that I am married to an ex British boomerang champion?!

Three weeks of targeted exercises and stretches for tight hip flexor and some core strengthening has my SI joint in great spirits right now.
Unless I do some ridiculous lifting/twisting...all appears to be really good right now.
I can do this:chuckmarch:

I'm sorry that you are suffering with issues requiring pain meds:sad:

But Brownies vs Prunes...I'm on board with that.:ok:
Hope you get a few more weeks of warm swimming weather.
Will be in the 90s here for many more weeks.
