THR 7 months post op and soreness in the hip area

.Just felt a lil closed in the entire time.
Venturing out into the real world after being in such a protected environment for so long can be a bit daunting. Just ease into activities. You will continue to gain confidence and soon forget about having that shiny new hip.

Happy Saturday!
I agree with Jaycey, maybe the close surroundings, noise and abundance of people was too much, too soon.
Don't let that stop you though. Keep getting out there. Get out everyday and do something.
Those type of feelings have a way of taking over if you let it happen. Don't!
So....what's on the agenda for today?
@Korver

Thank you Ms Layla.. Definitely not stopping. I am full throttling with caution and common sense..My 3 month day is April 13 but 3 month checkup is not til April 30...the price you pay for having a great surgeon...he is very busy..Itching so bad to get on a recumbent bike but will not til that checkup..walking will suffice ...Enjoy your weekend..

The agenda for the day Ms Layla is shopping with the wifey and dinner out and church tommorow..Will see how that goes ...Got to keep grinding...

How wonderful! Have fun!
Keep at it...:yes!:
@Korver

I think you are proof that a patient sensible approach to recovery pays off.
Things will continue to get better and better..
Hope your day is sweet!:yahoo:

Thank yall so much...Go to keep grinding sensibly..Yall haveca beautiful Sunday

Three months last monday and 3 month checkup a week from today.. So technically three and a half months...cannot wait to get cleared to get on a recumbent bike and maybe some very light weights.. Whatever the ortho says is what i will do. Have been really tired by 6:30_7 at night and have not been napping much during the day so hoping that the tiredness is just part of the healing process...Anxiety seems a lil better too. Happy Monday to everone and have a great week

It's funny how the follow up scheduled seem to be so different between OS practices (in addition to a lot of other things) I saw my doc post-op at 2 weeks and 8 weeks and he said next appt is at 1 year unless a problem comes up.

Yes saw mine at 2 weeks as well and this pending checkup is the next appointment.. Had posterior thr..

That energy drain can really hang on:mcoffee:
I was well into my fourth month before that began to ease for me.
Just wiped out!
Glad you sound well...onward!:yahoo:

Thanks Mojo333 for your encouragement..One day at a time sweet Jesus

Hi there @Korver
Hope you're having a good week!

Good old energy drain...you're certainly not alone in experiencing that.
Our body's energy supply isn't limitless. So when we're in healing mode after major surgery,
our energy will be used for healing first, not leaving a great reserve for all the other activity of daily life.
It is completely normal to feel tired for quite some time. How long.....most likely relates to your body's rate of healing. Making our best effort to get adequate sleep and rest is beneficial. Our body does it's best healing while we're sleeping. So sneak in a nap when you can and don't worry about being tired at 7:00pm. Your body is still healing.

Here is the article on energy drain from the Recovery Article.
