You 2 are doing just great . Keep it up . And in no time, you will forget about the implants. As I enter month number 4 , im 100 percent , a happy customer, you guys will to. Just atleast try to avoid high impact activities. Golfing , biking , kayaking , walking , even hiking are great exercises for the knee and HEART, the most important of all !! Best wishes fellas . New clubs! I have a complete new set just waiting for me to get going again...we should all meet for a bone smart golf tournament! I say AZ in March, there is no place better!

I do have to tell you what we finally told our boys when they were playing high school golf, and each year they wanted the Newest and next best thing, because that club was going to improve their game and take it to the next level...."it's the Indian, not the arrow"

Last time I played was a few weeks before surgery in AZ, can't wait!

@Tamsmom You mean one can't "buy a game"? If every claim for increased distance were true with each new club that came out I should be hitting the ball 500 yards from the tee!

If you spent that much money for buy those aids, it might be less costly to hire a pro to stand in for you.

Naw.. they're blind and older than you. They'd never notice. :)

I have got to be getting to the end of my PT sessions! Each time they either add a new demanding exercise, add repetitions or time for timed events, or add weights for those exercises that use weights. I was exhausted today having nothing to do with the knee. They just wore me out. Despite that, I went to the driving range for a brief 30 minute or so warm up then headed home. Shortly after arriving there the UPS truck came and I installed a new fountain just off our back patio:

Right now the knee feels great but I am exhausted. It sure is he11 getting old but it does beat the alternative!

Phil, I'm happy to see you made it to the golf course! You worried about it impacting your game for nothing! Did you get your new irons??

@Janet2012 Yes, I did get the new irons. I have played with them once and glad I pulled the trigger. However, this set is no different than any other I have gotten in that there is an adjustment period necessary to determine best ball position, etc.

I got a nice set of Adams and used them twice before I had to quit golfing for two summers. I'm in a league with my husband this year, in addition to my ladies fun league, so I'm finally getting comfortable with what I can do with them. We're in first place! (Thank you handicapping!)

Not only does he get new clubs but he installs his own water hazard. What a guy!

During my physical, my doctor asked me about my daily activity level,
so I described a typical day this way:

"Well, yesterday afternoon, I waded along the edge of a lake, drank eight beers, escaped from wild dogs in the heavy brush, marched up
and down several rocky hills, stood in a patch of poison ivy, crawled
out of quicksand, jumped away from an aggressive rattlesnake and
took four "leaks" behind big trees."

Inspired by the story, the doctor said, "You must be one hell of an outdoors man!"

"No," I replied, "I'm just a very bad golfer."

Many, many years ago, awaiting the birth of our first child, we attended a Lamaze class. The room was full of pregnant women with their husbands. The instructor said, "Ladies, remember that exercise is good for you.

Walking is especially beneficial. It strengthens the pelvic muscles and will make delivery that much easier.
Just pace yourself, make plenty of stops and try to stay on a soft surface like grass or a path."

He said to us men, "Gentlemen, remember -- you're in this together. It wouldn't hurt you to go walking with her. In fact, that shared experience would be good for you both."

The room suddenly became very quiet as us men absorbed this information. After a few moments I slowly
raised my hand."Yes?" said the Instructor."I was just wondering if it would be all right, if she carries a golf bag
while we walk?

Kinda brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?
This level of sensitivity can't be taught.

Sigh! So caring. I think I'll wake mine up in the middle of the night so we can share the sleep deprivision.

@JustJeff There really isn't much more I can relate regarding my knee. It still has the feeling of being a little swollen and slightly stiff but I really don't experience any pain anymore. I think I take the Tylenol, down to 6 a day now, more out of habit than need. I can do stairs normally, walk a mile or more with no issues. I am back to playing golf 5 times per week (weather and PT schedule permitting) plus additional time spent in the practice area and on the range. In short, there is nothing I want to do that my knee is preventing me from doing.

That being the case, I like to put smiles on people's faces and hope that with some of my jokes and other attempts at humor I can get people who have been less fortunate in their recovery to forget about their problems if just for a moment or two.

You've certainly been a good sport with some of my humor being at your expense. I've also enjoyed your attempts at reciprocity.

And so, myself also, Phil! I think I'll head out to the Driving range for the first time tomorrow. (I'd better hit with my wedge on a tee first. )

Sometimes I think I enjoy the practice more than the actual playing. I can hit balls for hours on the range.

Enjoy your range time even if is only hitting the wedge off a tee.
