Hi all, Im looking forward to and like many others scared to death of my bilateral total knee replacement. I have done as much study as i can. Ive viewed the whole thing on youtube, bought stuff for the bath room and wrap around ice packs. All thats left is to get thru the waiting and surgery and on to the recovery.

Ill post here as i go. Im expecting the recovery to be painful and aweful but im dedicated to getting thru it. Good luck to all my fellow Rainbows!

Hi @soos53!
How are you doing? My surgery is Monday, yours is Tuesday, mine is the right knee, yours is the left. Hang in there, it is all going to be worth it!
Take care and All the Best!

Redsdad glad you're doing ok. For me the first 2-3 weeks is all about pain control. Find the right medication cocktail that works - stick with it, ice, elevate and mininmal exercise. Once the pain and swelling improve, your legs will want to return to normal and they will.
Take good care, keep it simple and you'll be feeling great again or better than before with new knees.

I had a revision of a TKR from Dec. 2015 on April 7th. It went well. I am going to PT two times a week and doing exercises at home. I also try to ice a couple times a day. After borrowing an" ice machine" during the first surgery in 2015, I purchased one for myself this time around. I will also be having a TKR on my Right knee within the month because that one is bone on bone
